Located south of Detroit, Downriver refers to a vast collection of cities and townships nestled alongside the western banks of the Detroit River. Among the 18 communities considered to be part of Downriver are Taylor, Romulus, Allen Park, Southgate, and Trenton.
Northern Downriver communities tend to be more suburban whereas the southern Downriver communities are more rural. Residents throughout the region enjoy the area’s ample opportunities for outdoor recreation along the river, including activities like fishing, boating, and birdwatching, in addition to hiking the extensive network of trails in the area. Downriver is especially popular among commuters for its proximity to Downtown Detroit and multiple major highways.

Property Ratings at Heritage Glen Townhomes
This is by far one of the nastiest places that I’ve ever seen they show you a model that looks decent what you get is totally different. These units are 50 years old with hardly any updates falling ceilings and cabinets. Things in the apartment beat up and nasty looking paint painted poorly. If you give them a deposit, they don’t want to give it back even if the unit is not clean or smells very good. My unit was filthy. When I told them I wasn’t happy with the unit. They refused to give me my money back for three months, I had to wait on my deposit, if you don’t mind pitbull raggedy Apartments loud music flooded basements fires nasty management team with a bunch of lies and excuses this is the place for you
One of the best places I have lived at in this area.
Management , maintenance, this place sucks they lose your money.
Maintenance cover up repairs nothing is fixed properly. Management rude unprofessional liars. Police always in here with rifles drawn for people. Today had a police standoff. Smh. Dangerous, rat infested, bedbug infested, old appliances, and blackmold.
Very very old apartments. Appliances does not work and are not replaced easily. Kitchen cabinets are so old that it may fall any time. The floor is a juke box, makes noise even when my cat walks. Absolutely poor value for money, Rubbish - Junk!!
I worked with Paige and my experience was amazing! I love my place and the fact that heat and water is included because it is cold and momma needs her heat!
You have to put your deposit down to hold an townhouse. You can’t view the unit until the day your offered a unit. If you don’t like the unit then it’s oh well we still have your money. They tell you that repairs will not be made to the unit unless the issue is causing the unit to be unsafe. Oh By the Way Rats live on your front entrance. Yes Rat holes are in the grass. Not field mice Rats!! They live under your unit and by the Garbage dumpsters. You will have a chance to see them playing in the grass like they pay rent.
My leasing agent Brianna was very transparent with everything in the lease and my move in went smoothly. Great place to be; very refreshing.
I was looking for something immediately, application process was very quick, moved in within a month of inquiring. My unit was well maintained, very clean, quiet, calm environment, great for children. If your looking into renting a townhome, Heritage Glen would definitely be a great option to look into. Ask for Briana, she's awesome!
I actually currently live here and I’d suggest not moving here my air has been out since the beginning of may and still hasn’t been fixed my house is currently 85 degrees and was 89 last night so I went to the office this morning and was pretty much told I have to wait for maintenance Monday but I haven’t had air since the 1st. But hey there office felt pretty cool so they didn’t care of course. My leasing agent is amazing but as far as this goes I’d really advise not moving in.
If you are looking for somewhere to call home look no further. Grab a application and apply. Need help call ask for bre she is very helpful.
Absolutly horrible! I contacted this apartment the last few weeks of Janurary and was advised they would have spots the beginning of March and we were constantly assured by Josh we would have a place the first two weeks of march. We went through the application process and got approved, no big deal. When my boyfriend went to drop off the deposit Josh was not there and another lady advised she will take the payment to get us in and we can call and speak to Josh the following day to get everything taken care of, ok cool. I call at 4pm the next day and was advised everything was good, but instead of getting a move in day I was advised they have a policy that a tenetant can keep their keys 40 days after their lease is over which can drastically affect your move in date. I said we can't do that, we have said constantly the lease is up on March 4th and we need a place. I was advised that it's something that could happen, but people are really good about giving their keys back so we'll defiantly be able to get in the second week. Well we already paid and was pretty much stuck. No word for a month and we call in to try to get something and we were told nothing is available until the end if the month! Their adverisements say they have available units but they do not! Make sure you get everything in writting because they will not give the security deposit back or give us anything in writting saying we'll defiantly have a plave by the 31st, after a very important policy was not disclosed! I have to try to figure out what to do now at this point but I would advise defiantly taking your business else where. We may have messed up but these guys are shady and will not disclose all infromtation until after you pay your security deposit and will be of no help to come to a resolution.
Heidi is a wonderful leasing consultant who walked me thru the process and showed me the home! She was knowledgeable and accurate. The leasing office is beautiful as well as the landscape in the community! Can’t wait to call this place home!!
Heidi is great! Nice townhome! Very clean! Can’t wait to process everything!
I came In to look for a two bedroom or a three bedroom the staff was so amazing very helpful and respectful I would refer to someone else.
I had a great experience today at Heritage Glen. Thank you.
Felicia was so helpful and nice. She made sure to answer all my questions while giving the tour. Beautiful townhouses for a reasonable price. I look forward to being a resident.
Went up there Friday to look at getting a place. The staff was wonderful and was able to show us two floor plans with no wait. They were very informative about specials and costs and helped to make sure the application was filled out correctly. I would recommend them!
The Real estate agent Brianna was so helpful she answered all our questions and did everything with a smile. Wonderful experience all around.
Excellent customer service by Heidi and Bree. Clean new carpet and new windows... ??????
Briana was very nice and helpful and very detail. Went through everything as far as the process of the application with us as well.
I had s wonderful experience as soon as I walked in the door. Briona was so helpful and understanding of my situation. I could ask for anything more
Property was Beautiful an the staff were very friendly and informative Beautiful place to live.

Looking for a home and customer service was great. Felicia took her time to explain and show everything. Other staff was very friendly. Two thumbs up.
don’t recommend it they raise the price like a crazy and they don’t care about fixed when u need it the get you hard time they acting like you are begging for like it’s u problem to take care the maintenance
Ashley, She is a great communication with us. She’s good acknowledged of leasing information and answer all of our questions. Heritage glen townhome is very nice.
Heidi is very helpful, and friendly. Great customer service
Went in to the open house love everything about it from the lot size the community even the staff was very professional and answer all me and my wife’s questions this the place for us
I Worked with Felicia while i was there and she was a great help she covered just about everything and was very knowledgeable about the layout and history of the grounds. The Apartments are also very nice and spacious i would recommend them for anyone looking to get into a first time home
It was a nice move in process! Heidi was very helpful and resourceful. Apartments are clean and the area is sufficient for my children. I am happy and excited to become apart of this community and enjoy my new home!
Me and my fiancee applied here and the office was very friendly. The leasing specialist Heidi was very warm and helpful with the whole process. I look forward to being a resident at these townhomes!
I came in about a week ago to pick a application up and Brianna was so helpful it was almost closing time but with little time she gave me so much detail and information. The customer service was great and from looking around the complex seems to be great many families so thats great for my kids.
Me and my boyfriend was out looking at different places when I realized I forgot about this place.. we literally had 15min to get there before the office closed and we had jus barely made it in. Although, they were preparing to leave for the day , Briona still sat us down and went over information that we had asked for. She was very kind and helpful. After filling out the application, she got back to us very quickly.
I had a walk through of a townhouse a month ago and I was very impressed. I love the level of detail that Brianna provided. She informed us of the larger unit that wasn’t available to view, but gave us a descriptive image of what it would look like. She made us really feel great about applying for the townhome.
The place was great for the first couple of months -- no problems with neighbors, the unit was clean, everything was fine. Then about 2-3 months in, there was a gunman barricading the parking lot I use so I wasn't able to leave; police were there the whole night. Then there was another active gunman -- it was on the news, a man barricading himself and wanted for 2 cases of homicide -- about 6 months after the first guy. Just yesterday, 7/13, one of the units EXPLODED, knocking the entire front of the unit clean off (everyone was safe, and this case was also reported on the news). Mind you, there are A LOT of families here, more families with multiple children than single people like me, and ALL of these events happened within less than 11 months (I moved in August 2018). Downright dangerous, ignorant, unprofessional, and rude. They let people park in the middle of the road, just feet away from where "no parking, fire lane" signs are posted (not a good thing to have if your units are exploding and there's no room for EMT and police). Called for a leak we had in our ceiling near the basement door, and it was caused by them not installing something on our bathtub before we moved in. Took them a week to come to my unit to fix the HVAC -- it was a 10 minute issue to diagnose and fix, and it was caused by one of THEIR maintenance workers cutting the thermostat wire while mowing the lawn -- and the only reason I got it fixed in a week and not in months like most people experience is because I would call and call and call and eventually went straight to the office and threatened to get my lawyer and withhold my rent if they didn't fix it. Every time I would call for an update, the call would be less than a minute because all they would tell me was "you're on the list, just wait." If you value your life, your kids, or your safety... do not move here. I've know people that live at Westminster and they've had less issues.
I lived here for an entire year, and with-in the year i lived there, the Taylor police and swat team were in there at least 6 times for drug busts, an apartment down the street caught on fire from the stove, and not only three months later, and apartment across the street had an “unknown” fire from an electrical problem. Not only did we watch all this go down, we waited almost a month for a new hot water tank for our apartment, the basement flooded when we had a storm, it took maintenance 3 days to come to our apartment to clean up the mess on the floor (even then it didn’t get clean and all they do when you move out is slap a new thing of paint on the floor) when we moved out, we gave a months notice, we moved out a week before our Contract was thru and cleaned the whole apartment, and was like brand-new (cleaner than when we first moved in) even then, we got charged from stains that were there when we moved in. We put a trash bag out on our porch to take out the next morning (we put in out at 11:30 pm) and when we went to work the next day we had a new fine from a trash bag being on our porch, even when our dumpster was full. There are several problems with the people in the office (a few of the good employees they had were fired a few months after we moved in) are always rude, and always seem to have not get your rent payment on time (the office normally closes at 5/6 and there is a drop box on the door to make payments after hours) and always had a problem saying we were late when it was dropped off the day of rent being due. After we moved out, they just had the swat team there to arrest someone for a murder case in Detroit and the man was barricaded in his apartment that also caught fire from the smoke bomb thrown in. And now as of today (7/14/19) and apartment exploded from a dryer not being hooked up right, not even two doors down from where i lived. Avoid this place at all costs. And if you take the risk of living here, be prepared for your car having new dents from the kids playing, the teenagers Messi g with cars, and someone hitting your car.
Terrible. Office unresponsive. Stay away from this place you will thank me.
As I said, I have no problems here in over 3 years. Grounds are well maintained and I love my home! Excellent place to live!
Comfortable homes and close to everything with little traffic
PLEASE DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT THINK ABOUT MOVING HERE! First, the maintenance staff never fixes things all the way and takes FOREVER to look at a work order. Second, there are RAT HOLES everywhere around the complex where mice and gophers crawl in and out of at night. Third, there are holes in the roof oning where birds fly in and out of and leave POOP all along side the complex and windows. Finally, there was shooting that occurred where our car was riddled with bullets due to the premise being so unsecure. This forced me to break my lease and move out early!
I only lived here for 3 months before getting evicted I moved in with a friend at the time. I was letting the leasing office know that my roommate child father had said that he was going to destruct the property they told me they couldn’t pick a side and stayed Neutral. My front living room window gets broke and they send me notice to quit. We have yet to move out and instead of them taking me to court they throw the little bit of things I did have in the house out and they stole items as well. We never went to court to formally evict me yet they took illegal action. Don’t move here unless you are married and or moving in alone
worst place ever rats running around even in broad daylight no pool no playground rusty slide rude people loud parties at night I was afraid to go out at night always a group in a car partying and saying things not so nice things run in the other direction anyplace is better than this place
I lived in those Townhouses and maintenances stuck. It took them months to fix stuff up in your place. They front office always made excuses. You never can talk to the Property Manager or the Regional Manager. It was a terrible experience for my first time living in Townhouses.
This was my very first apartment and I am very disappointment my lease is up in October and I cannot wait, this place is horrible I thought it was going to be a great first time experience, I regret it so much, I have a son and I'm very upset I moved him here, he can't even enjoy being outside without it being LOUD, people speeding through the parking lot, the doors have no screen so bugs are in and out and EVERYWHERE! I get scared when I come m home from work because I think I'll let a rat or mouse in the house it's sooooo many of them outside in everyone's yard, there's bugs and beetles that comes through the crack of the door, maintence is horrible, the staff is HORRIBLE!! This whole experience was terrible please do not waste your time moving here it's dirty, it's filthy, there's mold, nothing has been updated but the windows which were installed HORRIBLY, please do not waste your time coming here!!!!!!!!! I'm very displeased!!!!!!
My favorite thing about my new place is the high ceilings. Although, there is much more to offer in this townhome, as in the huge walk in closet, full sized basement, and central air! I shopped around for months and believe I made the right choice here. They say everything happens for a reason. I am pleased with my stay. I do wish they would start a community program so I could meet with others in the community.
I miss my old townhome! I moved out of state into an apartment and thought I would share my wonderful experience I have living at Heritage Glen. Life was so easy and summer's were carefree! I never had any thing wrong with my townhome but, I enjoyed the large courtyards and being able to walk throughout the community. I met a lot of nice people in Michigan and the staff is very friendly too!
They’re cheap and available for a reason! You’re paying to live in black mold!! Don’t believe me? Call the city of taylor and as when their last health and code inspection was.. and if they even passed! 2011 was the last time they’ve been inspected, the same inspections they had over 100 units condemned!!!! The maintence even told me (after 6 months of complaining about repairs) that my first mistake was moving in here…
I have lived here for a few years and see wonderful changes. I have a nice sized townhome , lawn care, a pool, and now new windows. I want to thank the management for all the changes here. It really is a beautiful community with a lot of potential. Maintenance comes out fairly fast. I have one had one problem in over 2 years and the team was out to fix it within hours. I am close to shopping and feel right at home here. As long as the rent doesn't skyrocket, I plan to live here for more years to come. I wrote this review in thoughts of all the hard work I see these people do. They deserve credit .... This place is way better than anywhere I have lived before.
