Finding an apartment for rent in Hilliard, Ohio is one of those things you can look forward to. A quaint town, with just over 30,000 people calling it home, it is the ideal place to raise a family, go to school, or just spend time relaxing. It is the largest suburb of Columbus, Ohio, the state's capital city. And, with that proximity (and ease of drive into the heart of Columbus) Hilliard is one of the best places to call home. Finding an apartment here is rather easy to do, and you'll have your pick of a variety of styles, ages, and communities. Yet, Hilliard has much more to offer than just a residential area. It's popular with just about all age groups and is rather affordable compared to living in the heart of Columbus.
What's interesting about this city is its passion for sports. You can look to Columbus, Cincinnati, or even Cleveland to the north for the professional football, baseball, and basketball teams, though. Here, in Hilliard, it is all about the local sports teams.

I’ve lived here since march. And since then I have had probably 10 negative dog interactions, management does nothing to make sure people are watching their dogs. Nobody leashes their dogs here. Employees AND contractors BRING their dogs to work and chain them outside in the 90° summer heat to nearby trees!! I went to the office and the only thing they said they did was talk to him. The dog problem in this neighborhood is absolutely insane and nobody watches their dogs here. I’m disgusted by management for allowing these wretched behaviors. I do not recommend living here if you are a proactive dog owner!!
I spoke with the office and made an appointment to view the inside of the apartment. The apartment was nice but once I signed my lease and received my keys. It was a different apartment than what I had seen. Somehow, the apartment that I viewed was rented.(So they say.)Right after I received my key I started to notice bed bugs crawling on the walls. I called the office with in minutes and had to leave a message they would not answer and there was a sign on the door closed. I did not know what to do I was moving from another town my uhaul was blocking the parking lot... Horrible!!!!!! The worst rental I've ever lived in. It's always better to lose some money rather than stay in a dangerous situation, like an apartment

Management is not helpful at all. I lived there for three years and had to get my A/C fixed every summer. Plumbing fixtures and windows are old and do not work well. I recently moved out and didn't realize I had to turn off autopay and they charged me for rent when I didn't live there. Now they won't answer the phones and won't give me my money back. I highly recommend going somewhere else. Not worth the huge rent increasae each year,

Never, ever stay here, I spent two years waiting for them to fix the windows, they are old and the cold is horrible, when you turn on the washing machine and the oven all the light in the apartment goes out, the walls are of very poor quality, you hear everything they do Your neighbors couldn't sleep because of my neighbors' fights. I have moved from there for 6 months and they call me to say that I owe 402 dollars for water and rent, they passed the bill to a collection company, they have my number and my email the compactor never works, and when you arrive at dawn you will never find a seat for your vehicle, never move here if you don't want to have headaches.
When we got our keys our apartment had not even been cleaned yet and there were a ton of maintenance issues. It's been a full month since we moved in and the maintenance issues haven't even been looked at yet. The office staff doesn't seem to have a clue what's going on. The maintenance staff makes up excuses for why they can't come out. I will not be renewing my lease.

We urge you to give us a call or stop by our office at your convenience so that we may speak with you further on how we can improve your time here.
Heritage Green has really gone down hill. A constant problem is the dumpster. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. Instead of management taking ownership and either getting a dumpster that works OR adding a second dumpster in for this many people, they send threatening emails with fines all the time. Their emails will be in all caps and are a waste of time. Dog stations are falling a part, management is never out engaging with the residents and overall just a bad place to live. We receive 3-4 emails a week from management with constant threats over dog stations, trash and parking saying they will fine people. They never actually fine anyone. As a resident who actually cares, it’s annoying and degrading to get these all the time. For the cost of this place, you could easily go to the north side of Hilliard and pay the same rent for a newer, nicer community.

Maintenance is pretty awful. A/C went out on a 95 degree day, didn’t show up until 4 pm. “Fixed it” but just went out a couple days ago. Over priced for the “updates” they have done. Apartments are spacious, but we had plumbing problems.

The community looks great and the apartments / townhomes are spacious with nice layouts. It's also in a great school district. That's where the good ends. Everything you read about the office and maintenance not communicating and refusing to repair things is true. It usually takes at least two work orders to get anything fixed - and you better be home when they come or they'll mark it complete without actually doing the work. Our electric usage for a 1400 sq. ft. townhome was 3500 kwh when the heat was running. It drops to about 2000 in the summer with the AC on full blast. There's obviously an issue with the heating system but they won't fix it. They just keep asking for more documentation - which I've provided multiple times, including data from the smart meter on the unit - and even when I offered to pay to have an outside, certified HVAC tech come look at the equipment, they wouldn't let me. I routinely see people's AC units frozen over during the summer as well which shouldn't happen. You think you're getting a great deal on rent for the area, but I assure you, your utility costs will negate any savings you might have.

You don’t really get what you pay for here. The places are updated which is nice but we still had quite a bit of maintenance issues in the year we lived here. I will say the maintenance guys were prompt and got things done in a timely manner. My neighbors smoked weed so it was always nice coming home to my place smelling like it and i said something to the office about it but it continued happening. And the neighbors on the other side of me had surround sound for their tv so I’d frequently get to hear the bass from that. Pool is not big enough for the community size and the “gym” is a joke. They advertise that they have a car cleaning station which isn’t true. There is one trash compactor in the entire community thats either always full or broke. All in all, it wasn’t the worst experience but when it came time to renew our lease they of course wanted to up the rent and it’s just not worth the money to stay.
A one bedroom is as much as a 2 at most places. The water, trash and sewage combined averages $45 a month very high. There is a $50 fee to sign up for water that should be included in admin fee. Trash compactor is broken every other month. For such an expensive place this should be a non issue. They send annoying little emails to all residents... I don’t have a dog or kids and I got emails about cleaning up after them. Their snow removal was slow. Requested they fix something, and it wasn’t fixed. I was on my way out so I didn’t care if it was fixed or not. I over heard a resident say she has worms in her apartment. The person in the office said nothing they can do you can’t spray for worms. I have to hope they are earth worms, but even then how are they getting in?
The community is pretty peaceful, and the office manager is awesome. Good place for families.
My wife and I are in our 3rd year at Heritage Green. The friendly staff, quick maintenance, affordable price and perfect location near bike paths, parks, and restaraunts easily make this apartment 5 stars!
I have been living here for almost two years and like it! The community is peaceful, maintenance issues get resolved quickly, and the office staff are all friendly and helpful.
One of the best apartments i have had in awhile!! Great communication, great community. They are also very kind and friendly. Maintenance is always on top of everything and on time!!
Worst complex I’ve lived in. Left to wait for my keys with movers for 45 minutes upon moving in because the manager just wasn’t there. Moved into an apartment that reeked of cigarettes, maintence told me I’d “have to have a doctors note” to move apartments. They remodeled, but it was poorly done. Units are old and many internal things need replaced (AC units, water heater, etc). Was awoke in the middle of the night a number of times from the AC unit over working, due to my drug dealing neighbors who lived upstairs. Car was broken into a number of times. Leasing manager gave me the wrong number when I asked for her supervisors number. Poop bins never get emptied so it stinks of animal waste. Staff is rude and incompetent. The only good thing about this complex is they recently hired good maintence staff. Now if they would just get a new office staff it might run properly.
I've lived here for three years. While I love the space, the fact I have an attached garage, and that my room mate and I each get our own bedroom/bathroom, there have been a few drawbacks. First off, it's very poorly insulated, and my AEP electric bill goes from almost nothing in the summer to $300 every month in the winter. The amenities need to be updated VERY badly -- my ice machine has literally never worked the entire time I lived here. Maintenance can't seem to fix it, but also won't replace my fridge because of it. Same with the stove -- only two burners work, but maintenance can't fix it and they won't replace it. There have also been huge ant problems every spring. The pool is nice when it's open, but it was closed most of last summer. Also, this is a family neighborhood, so there are lots of children splashing and screaming in the pool when it is open. In general, I like the family neighborhood aspect, but sometimes you want to lay by the pool without being splashed by little ones. It's also close to the bike path and walking distance to a park, but I wish it was safer to walk around the neighborhood as well (no sidewalks). The roads in the complex flood when it rains badly, and the road is very uneven. I did like that each of the townhouses has a little plot for a garden!! Also you can't usually hear neighbors unless they're shouting or stomping up and down stairs. The staff is nice but sometimes unorganized -- one staff member will tell me one thing and another say the opposite. For example, my room mate and I accidentally got two separate lease agreements drafted up, then almost got fined because we had both signed them, but they were different agreements. Management ended up not fining us for their mistake. All in all, it hasn't been the worst place to live for three years, but I'm moving to find some place a little more updated.
I have been renting a townhouse here for several years. It has been awful. The place was newly remodeled with the worst, cheapest materials. Everything has been falling off the walls, towel racks, cabinets, you name it. The maintenance here is terrible. I have put in a maintenance request for the same towel rack at least 3 times. Sinks leak, toilet is mounted crooked. Endless issues. I asked to repair a cabinet that was literally falling off the wall. They reattached the cabinet and left the door hanging open, crooked. I had to call back and ask them to fix the door. Can you not see that the door is hanging off the broken cabinet??? The windows are so old, I get snow on the window sills that sends my heating bill up. The seal on my front door is so bad you can feel the wind and see the light coming in. I had to place that request for repair twice. The first time, they said they fixed it but you couldn't tell. This is a constant problem. The trash has been the biggest issue. Broken trash compactor more of the months I have lived her than not. We had mountains, mountains of trash sitting in the complex around the dumpster for months. Rats, it was so horrible. They fixed it and it broke again. Something is wrong with the foundation of my place. When it rains, I get worms on the floor of my living room and kitchen. Huge worms! I don't know if it's the seal on the doors or what. Bugs are always an issue as well. When I put it a maintenance request because of all the ants coming in my front door, they dropped off ant traps from the grocery store. I have had a month in the summer with no air and days in the winter with no heat. The front office was not accommodating about these issues at all. They updated the pool area but it was closed most of the summer because of maintenance issues. Highly recommend that you live somewhere else. I'm so glad my lease is finally up.

I've been living here a little over a year now and have never lived somewhere so rude, unprofessional, and disgusting in my life. Recently when my neighbors porch fell through, they hired contractors to fix everything. The contractors parked a huge dumpster right out side my apartment door. My neighbors all around continue to throw away their trash, creating an odor and attracting bugs. I cannot go five minutes in my apartment without swatting away at gnats. They have ingested every room in my apartment at this point. Earlier this week I contacted the front desk about it, and the best they could do was leave a notice on everyone's door to not throw their trash in the contractors dumpster anymore. This would have been great BEFORE people started throwing their trash away, but now it won't do anything. Every time I have to walk to my car I have to walk through a swarm of bugs and endure the awful stench from the dumpster. No note has been left for anyone, and the problem continues. When confronted again they offered a $10 credit or whatever for not being able to use the porch. This is so laughable at this point. This place ONLY cares about profit, they do not care about your complaints or your quality of life in these apartments. The funny part in all of this is that a couple months ago they left me a note at my door telling me they would charge me $50 dollars next time they saw trash out side my door (I had a tiny bag of trash outside my door that I had set down while I gathered more trash to take out, it was not there long at all) and that this is an issue because it can attract pests. I pay a rediculous amount to live here, and it's not worth what this place has put me through. And oh yeah, if you do decide to live here, get used to random walk through any staff into your apartment anytime they please.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us this detailed review. We appreciate your feedback and will use this information as we move forward with making this the best apartment community it can be. It is disheartening to hear that you have had anything but a 5-star experience while living here. Our team works hard to create communities residents are proud to call home while providing them with Hassle Free Living and would like another opportunity to do so for you. We apologize for the inconvenience your neighbors porch falling through has caused. Please report your bug issue to a staff member and someone will happily come to assist you. We will also look into moving the contractors trash bin and reminding residents this is not theirs to depose their trash in. We truly care about each and every one of our residents and want them all to have a 5-star experience while living here. We look forward to hearing from you and an opportunity to make things right! -Kathy, Bell Reputation Team
After moving out 12/17/15, I received an invoice for $475 to cover pet damage in one of the bedrooms. I asked why since I paid $40 per month for 2 pets and a pet deposit totally over $1,500 during the time I live there. I told them that would more than cover their cost for the cheep carpet. I was told the reoccurring fee was simply for the privilege of having pets in their property. That not only makes no sense but it is not common practice in their industry. Isn't the whole point of the monthly pet fee to assure and cover the cost of any potential property damage from pets? In my humble opinion that is just plain greedy and unethical. Also be prepared for them to raise your rent every year without additial benefit or amenities and no explanation. My pets are older, 15 years of age and had some accidents but I feel I more than paid for any carpet damage. If you love and cherish your pets don't move in there unless you don't mind this type of greedy practice. I told them I would be reporting them to the Better a Business Bureau. They said do what you feel you have to do and I WILL along with other social media warnings.
Office made mistake with my bill and left rude letter on my door. Giving me ultimatum to pay it or they wouldn't accept my rent. Very poor customer service!!! I definitely will not renew my lease.
great place to live would recommend to anybody looking for a great apartment in the hilliard, ohio area.
My apartment is very homey could use some updates. The complex is now in the process of updating so that's awesome. The neighborhood is very quite. This is a great place to raise a family. This is also located close to everything in Hilliard and 15 minutes from mostly everything in Columbus.
Heritage Green in Hilliard, Ohio has a great office staff and maintenance staff. When I request a repair in my apartment maintenance is there in a few hours to 2 days depending on the urgency. The larger apartments are very nice and are even being renovated now. I currently live in a smaller 2 bedroom and have some issues with appliances. This is a very safe and quiet place to live and is close to several Hilliard schools.
