This family-friendly area attracts all ages, professions and ethnicities to create a well-run, friendly community. Throw in some beautiful green parks, tree-lined streets and a solid selection of dining options, and you can see what draws residents to the neighborhood.

Property Ratings at Hewitt Gardens Apartments
No space freedom: - they tell you what you can use for the spaces you pay for. They conduct a bothering inspection every few months, telling you do this and that. They bring back the same inquiry you settled in the past. Mice are common and anyone planning to move there should plan to share food with them. Moreover, the Faller Management staff (manager & assistant manager) don't care about individual residents' problem, but they try to build social connections among the community through gathering people for movie night and on the go breakfast once in a while. When you live at a place for years, you feel like you belong there, but they don't, they do superficial things not to help. Have bad experiences, just don't want to mention more. But the maintenance guys were great!
Aside being really close to many shopping centers and the Georgia Ave. route, this place has a lot more to offer. It is very clean and maintenance is quick to respond to any issues you may have. The rooms are very spacious. Many of the staff at the leasing office are very kind and are also bilingual, which really made things easier for my Spanish speaking parents to understand the leasing process.
I would like to start off that we have an amazing staff who is always willing to help. In particular our Assistant Manager Josabeth is amazing! She is very knowledgeable about everything and always goes the extra mile for us. I highly recommend talking to her if you are looking for great service.
Amazing customer service from all fronts! When ever I needed something from maintenance to administration Hewitt Gardens helped me immediately. Special mention to Josabeth in management for all her great work!
I lived at Hewitt Gardens for a year (fall 2017-2018) in a 1-bedroom apartment on the rental office side of the complex. Throughout my time living there, the ladies in the rental office were friendly and helpful. The view out of the balcony was a small stream where animals (deer, birds, cats) could be seen. I lived on the top floor of the building, so I had no noise complaints. I didn't have any trouble with pests, and a pest control service came around automatically every few months. I could always find parking, and guests could park if you got them a pass beforehand. Some people may not like the frequency of apartment inspections (to change air filters and check smoke alarms), which I was told happened quarterly but seemed more like bimonthly. There was no online payment for rent while I lived there, which may have changed by now. Maintenance was usually prompt when things went wrong, and the office offered to renew my lease with no price increase. I would have renewed, but the location was a little too far from both DC and Baltimore to stay. I'd recommend Hewitt Gardens.
I lived in this apartment from Aug. 2015 to Sep 2017. Poor management and mice are the two big issues I encountered during my stay. The management doesn't have good recording of your maintenance requests, and water or other damages reported to them, so make sure you keep your own records OR end up paying huge sum of money when you leave the apartment. I will be writing a detail review regarding the apartment and its poor management in the following days.
I am currently renting here, and the ceilings are made of tinfoil. I have not slept through an entire night the six months I have been here because my neighbors get up at five in the morning on weekdays and 7 on weekends, and because the ceilings are thin and there is no insulation, not only am I treated to the loud thumping of their footsteps, but the creaking (more like shrieking. Seriously, they're loud) of the floorboards. It's the worst when their child has a friend over, when I am treated to several hours of constant running back and forth, thumping, shouting, and pacing. I am about to lose my mind, and when informed of this, management's advice was to "buy a fan". Not only would I require a jet engine to block out the sound of the neighbors simply walking around (it's not really their fault, but the building's), but I have armed myself with a litany of devices: ear plugs, noise-cancelling earbuds, a white noise generator, everything short prescription sleeping pills-- none of it does any good. The frequency of the creaking is much too high to be blocked out by ear plugs, so despite probably ruining my ear canals by stuffing them full and sleeping on ear plugs every night, they barely block out anything. I am to the point of hysteria, and I have nearly cried on several occasions. It is so, so bad. So if you sleep like the dead or are hard of hearing, this place is fine. Or if you plan on living on the top floor. Otherwise, stay far far away. You couldn't PAY me to renew my lease here.
Property Manager at Hewitt Gardens Apartments, Responded To This Review
We sincerely apologize for your discomfort and are here to help with any complaints you may have. Please notify the office of any continued nuisances so we may work with you to have corrected. We thank you for your continued residency here at Hewitt Gardens Apartments.
I have been here for five years and I thought I would only be here for a year, two at best. But this place is in the perfect location. It is in the best location. There is shopping nearby and best of all the Metro comes right outside of my door. I have never used the pool, but it is in a great spot and is a great place for the neighborhood children to beat the heat. it is a suburban oasis.
