Property Ratings at HIBERNIA
I’ve lived in hibernia since Nov of 2021 and currently upgrading to a 2 bed in dec , I’ve never had a problem as far as mice and roaches, never seen them not once . Our heat and dishwasher stopped working and Jamie our maintenance replaced them both brand new . When we didn’t like the placement of our new apartment the property manager had no problem moving us to a different unit with a better view . I truly Love hibernia and how big the rooms are as well as the layout !

Thank you for your positive words! We are happy to hear that you have enjoyed your experience here at Hibernia! We care for our community and residents and strive to provide exceptional customer service. Please do not hesitate to contact our office should you need anything else in the future!
I moved to Hibernia 6 months ago… there were a few minor hiccups but nothing that miss Ella and the maintenance staff didn’t tackle as soon as it was mentioned. I think the experience here is what you make it I’ve NEVER seen a mouse or a roach now other bugs…. Sure.. it’s the freaking summer time and we are in the middle of the WOODS!! I’m not really feeling the rent increase due to unwanted internet service but this is still a good price for the space you get. My ONLY complaint is the lighting in the complex, perhaps funds should be allocated to the fixing of the originals lighting fixtures around the complex so that we feel safe walking around at night or going to our cars. Also maybe fixing the minor cosmetic issues that have arisen inevitably from 30 years of wear and tear. Other than that Hibernia is living up to everything I wanted so far.
I’ve lived here for almost a full year and there have been new problems every day. There are roaches and mice, which the leasing office couldn’t care less about. To get ahold of anyone in the office expect to wait at least a few weeks to finally speak to anyone and you’ll have to call several times in a row (don’t bother leaving a message, they will not call back). Our heat has gone out multiple times and when my friend, who also lives here, was told they need an entirely new furnace, they refused to replace it because “then we would have to replace everyone’s”. When the pool closed, instead of cleaning and draining it, they left it to turn green and disgusting. There are police and ambulances and fire trucks coming through here constantly. Also when we first moved in, the cabinet shelves don’t have things to hold them up and there are holes around the pipes connecting to the sink, causing all of our heat to go right out those holes and directly outside, nothing was done correctly, our drawers don’t slide in or out correctly, our shower had black mold in every corner, and nobody came to fix it when we turned in the move in check list. Our fire alarm goes off every time I cook, they told us we can’t use the garbage disposal because someone from the THIRD FLOOR had a clog and it cause water to leak out of our floor and soaked our entire living room. Our blinds have been falling off left and right without even being touched. All in all, this place only cares about money, insanely over charges, and promises so many amazing things for them to just leave you fending for yourself and hoping things go alright. DO NOT PICK AN APARTMENT IN THE HIBERNIA COMPLEX PLEASE PLEASE FIND SOMEWHERE BETTER.
The day we were suppose to move into our apartment we couldn’t find the leasing lady and made multiple attempts to call. It took 3 hours for someone to finally come and tell us that our unit was not ready and we needed to wait. We couldn’t wait because I had to move out of my current apartment. They told us that someone would be in to clean the carpets and they never showed up. Next, there is never anyyyy parking and trash is always full. They say they have security cameras but they don’t work. There are multiple car break ins with broken windows and someone even tried to break into our apartment. Amazon packages will be stolen. It’s not safe to walk from the parking lot into my own home for the fear of being robbed or shot. There was a shooting in the parking lot not even a week ago ending two people’s lives. THIS IS NOT A SAFE AREA. RUN!!!!

I enjoyed living here. I was able to move twice in order to get upgrades with absolutely no problems. The maintenance team is always available and on top of things. Love the pool! What a great added amenity. The grounds are always beautiful when warm weather hits and sidewalks and parking lots are shoveled. I only moved bc I purchased a home.
I have lived here for a long time, back when it was owned by Oakwood. It’s close to school and work for me. They have an amazing staff! Many of them have been here as long as I have. I see some reviewers didn’t like it, I would say you have to speak up if there is a safety or repair issue. They do have a lot of apartments but they have 3 or 4 maintenance people on staff; many properties have only 1. Repairs have been resolved very quick, they are also on-call, online portal for payments and work orders, people walk their dogs and jog; I feel safe here. The rent is very reasonable and so are the utilities. Although I agree assigned parking would be nice!
Great Apartments, well taken care off, and Ella and her staff are super to work with. They could use a few more parking spots with as many people that live there. Apartments are nice and roomy and well maintained. Everybody was super nice and respectful.
These apartments are a hidden treasure, I love that they are Tucked away with a private entrance, I have never seen an apartment so open and spacious the floor to ceiling windows are great for plants and all day natural light! Many of the neighbors have lived here long term it’s just a sense of community. The office staff is friendly and communicable even when you work day hours. Very little complaints for an apartment before you’re forever home!
Everyone is friendly and the grounds are well kept. Spacious apartments for a good price!
When I first moved in (2017) I loved the roomy 1 bedroom apt. with the washer/dryer, however, before I could completely unpack and settle in, a mouse ran under my couch! ...not even a month later a saw another mouse. The office staff sent someone to put down "mouse stations" to catch them each time. One of the grounds workers told me that "everyone had them!" as if it were a usual occurrence. My upstairs neighbor argued and screamed obscenities at his girlfriend on a weekly basis and threw beer cans onto my patio after I complained to office staff. He also constantly smoked which found its way into my apt. Some of the dog owners there failed to pick up their dogs' poop & it could be found close to sidewalks, grassy areas,or underneath bedroom windows, where people usually stepped in it. Oh, & the parking availability was awful. If you were not home at a certain time, you did not get to park anywhere near your apartment & there were times I road around or parked in front of the office(if available). There should be at least 1 parking space assigned per apt. Nice place but the mice visits, poop, parking, & smoke were the reasons I left after my 1-yr lease was up.
I don’t understand why there’s good reviews. I hated living here. There was too many issues with my apartment, it’s noisy, parking sucks & the neighborhood just is trash. When I stayed here about two years ago the police were being called at least twice a week & cars were always being broken into. Also the cameras don’t even work! I decided not to renew my lease and go stay with a family member instead. Now I currently have my own apartment and it’s 100 times better. Don’t settle here. It’s not worth it!
We moved in 2016. We love the space and price. But there are a few things that have come up that I feel is a draw back. Parking is hard if people are visiting the take resident parking. I get off work at 7:00pm and I usually have to walk a block sometimes. We had good neighbors upstairs but the new one there children run and jump knocking ceiling plaster off up past 10:00 pm in which the lease states your to be quite. We have complained to office several times but nothing seems to be done. Maintenance is slacking, slow. The grounds as nice and curb appeal good. With the words we get deer walking through and other wildlife.
Management is horrible, they don’t know what they’re doing. Better training needed.
This place is home. It feels like home whether your getting cozy in your spacious and very open living room or watching the deer as you grill on your awesome patio this place just feels like home. It’s beautifully landscaped nestled in the woods right off 270. Very quiet and peaceful. The 2 bedroom layout with having a kid is simply amazing. Big bedrooms ,closets and a bathroom in between. We were very fortunate to receive a updated model with stainless steel appliances. Being 3rd floor was a challenge moving in and sometimes groceries aren’t the most fun to bring up but once your up here it’s amazing. The huge floor to ceiling windows are very nice to have and allow air and light in. Maintenance has been very responsive at every turn as well as Ella and staff. This like I’ve stated just feels like home there is a pool and walking trails as well. They give you a power shack gym pass which is my only flaw i wish there was a on site work out facility nestled in the woods with the same floor to ceiling windows to view as I run. This place is very affordable and great for all types of people and ages single married it doesn’t matter you’re sure to love your new home
There is very limited parking, I will say that, if you didn't make it home by a certain time, Goodluck!! you might have to walk a block to your apartment. Whatever the tenant beneath you is doing you can hear and smell. For instance our neighbors, smoke weed in their bathroom, so guess what are bathroom smells like? Yup! Not to mention they have a toddler so guess what we enjoy? Yup crying 24/7. It was a bit disappointing being we were ensured some security with cameras being of view throughout the parking lot. But unfortunately they don't work. Their just for show. (fellow tenant had his license plate stolen and asked the office to review the tapes only to find out the cameras don't work) Also the staff said their would be 2 police officers patrolling the premises, that's also a lie. Has been almost 2 years and I have never seen one. Also shoveling of the walking areas are a definite fail. They just throw salt on top of the snow and hope it melts. so you have to beat your shoes off of snow getting into your car. Overall things could be worse huh?
My boyfriend and I applied within a week of touring the facility and got all of April free, so we moved in on March 1st of 2015. This area is so quiet and peaceful. They put lots of pride and hard work into their landscaping and excess amount of leaves. Not many noise complaints, but it all depends on your neighbors. The management company changed a few months back, but they are great! Awesome pricing for all that you get :)
I've lived at Hibernia for about 2 year now. My reason for giving it a 3 star rating is the lack of support for there matinence (also the lack of wanting to fix issues). Unless it's considered an emergency (such as your fridge not working or heat not functioning properly, etc..) then you can forget about them coming out to your apartment. I started out in their one bedroom apartment for a year where my vents barely blew air into my living room. After that year, I moved into their biggest apartment they offered. I hoped it would be better, but it had many more issues than my first one. Right after moving in, I made a list of things that needed fixed or replaced. A new window screen was needed (that never happened), my fireplace leaks water horribly when it rains (told them about that 5 separate times, yet it still isn't fixed), the person who lived here before me had cable wire all along the walls (wasn't supposed to be there),and the fridge was dirty when I moved in (which was an easy fix, I just cleaned that). And to continue with the fireplace issue, they told me 3 months ago the roof was going to be getting worked on to fix that issue, which never happened. Now for the positive. Their apartments are nestled away in the woods off of 270 south, which gives you easy access to going really anywhere you need to go. I personally have a nice view of the woods. It's a rather quiet community, which is nice. They have cameras placed throughout their property for security purposes. Unfortunately the pool is always busy (it's very small too). Other than that, it is an OK place to live.
I moved into this dump in June 2014 and moved out in June 2015. within two months of moving in I had mice ...kitchen drawers full of mice droppings...had to make several calls to the office to get the problem addressed. They finally sent an exterminator. Then on Dec 7 2014...mice again...had to contact corporate office to get the problem addressed. The office staff seemed to think having mice was normal...it is because of the woods they said...they come in through the water lines they said...we can't stop them from coming in they said. Apartment smelled musty...wasn't clean when I moved in...neighbors were horrible...unless you would be homeless if you did not move in to Hibernia....STAY AWAY....
It's a very safe and quiet environment and the community is always clean and in a good location.
I fine the apartment area to be very nice and clean. They are older apartments and the walls are very thin. The lay out if the apartments are very nice. Management is wonderful. The only complain I have is the fact you have to pay extra for things I feel should come with the apt. For instance each apt has a washer and dryer nothing fancy but you have to pay extra in order to keep them or bring your own. The apt offers a garage but you have to pay for it or you don't get one. I feel with the apartments being much older apartments they should not charge extra for these things considering all of the appliances and carpeting are old for what they are asking for the monthly rent you can go to a much younger complex and have these things included in rent and they wouldn't be has old.
This apartment is bigger than I expected on the inside and the pictures from apartment.com help me in finding this hidden wilderness of nature. Its just great to have my own personal space with so much potential and great scenery from sun up to sun down...A memory to be proud of.
The apartments are large and there is a lot of counter space. There is a door on the patio for storage and there are plenty of closets for more storage (I live in a two bedroom). Garages are available and are currently $50 a month. The area is quiet even though right by the highway, not far from downtown Columbus, and there are many nice tall trees. There is brand new management but the old management was just fine. Service requests are always handled quickly. The ceiling fans in the bedrooms are nice. I believe that updates such as a different type of carpet and a different color is used to paint the walls other than white now. The only problem I have had is with the dishwasher. It hasn't cleaned my dishes very well at all. Hopefully they are putting new updated ones in the apartments now. I have not heard. One thing I have really liked is the little parties the rental office throws such as a St. Patrick's Day party.
