Property Ratings at Hidden Creek at Clark (New Management!!)
new management don't respect tenant privacy at all, they just do what they want, works just climb on to your balcony via ladders whenever they feel like it, i mean dame i could be walking around naked and people are on my balcony not good. also they will tune off your water with out notice, have us waiting all day with out any hot/ cold water. God forbit you have a emergency over the weekend there in no one around til Monday so your clog with have to wait ..i can go on and on .... its like they don't care about people. but you better have the rent in one time or your getting a threatening. oh yes they know how to send those types of notice. GOOD LUCK to those that are will to deal with this. i am out as soon as i find my house .
My wife and I have lived here since 2017 and, for the most part, have been pleased. Yes, Maintenance has gone through many changes- all good- and now the staff is kind, courteous, and thorough (yet, I still have issues sometimes getting them to respond to calls), but the ultimate problem is communication. They've done an excellent job communicating regarding immediate things happening- but a very, very poor job regarding communication on the progress of any of the renovations or projects. I find absolutely unacceptable that we've been promised new laundry facilities (a process that started in August of last year) and we are almost into summer yet no communication of completion date or expectations. I have been forced to pay exorbitant amounts of money on outside laundry facilities with no acknowledgement that this is something contractually obligated. I have communicated my issues with no response from management as of it. Two stars is 'okay' and that is exactly how I describe this place to those looking for good, affordable apartments. If communication improved, I could say the property is great- having new windows is nice, but doesn't make up for the bigger picture.
I have lived here for 2 years and the only thing that I am impressed with is how safe and centralized the complex is. Other than that, it takes maintenance FOREVER (and sometimes forever never comes) when you put in a work order, regardless of whether or not you call it in as an emergency. They never opened the pool (which was one of the reasons why I moved here). Additionally, the laundry room is trash. I have been able to do my laundry maybe twice in the time that I have been living here because they are antiquated and always out of order. Not to mention that it’s drafty every winter because the windows, doors and balcony doors are about as old as Jesus and his disciples. Lastly, they raise rent every year and changes to the apts are never made throughout the year.
Just moved in last week and I am very impressed so far. Very quiet complex and my apartment was clean when I moved in. I will update again as time passes. George
This is place is terrible. The apartments are old and nothing works. The laundry facilities never work. The list goes on and on. STAY AWAY!!
Building 76 laundry facilities are unusable. The washing machines have malfunctioning spin cycles and half of the dryers will not even start. I’ve submitted multiple maintenance requests regarding these machines, but they remain in disrepair. Had I known that I would be forced to go to a laundromat, I would not have signed a lease here.
Property Manager at Hidden Creek at Clark (New Management!!), Responded To This Review
As soon as we get a call regarding a machine being down we take immediate action. Whether that is sending our maintenance worker over to see if he can make the repair or calling out to a third-party company. We are very disturbed to hear the problems you are describing in Building 76. We rely on our residents to inform of us when machines are down, and we received one call in October and it was for a dryer not a washer. We immediately sent our worker out to check on the machine. Unfortunately, a part needed to be ordered and it did take 2 weeks to come in. Please contact the main office via phone at 732-382-2444x204 or email us at lexhilltenants@gmail.com if there are more machines down. We would like to take care of this immediately. In addition, the washing machines are commercial and do not work like household machines. You must be sure to put your clothes in before selecting the cycle and filling the machine with water. Failure to do this will start the machines timer and it will result in all the water NOT spinning out in the final cycle because the machines time had expired before finishing the cycle.
10 more months and counting.. Cannot wait for this lease to be up! Between the constant reoccurrence of mold on our bathroom ceiling (maintenance will come days later, if at all, and paint it over!), playing roulette with the 4 laundry machines (it's exciting to see which one will leave my clothes sitting in water!), leaking balcony ceiling (nothing's better than enjoying your morning cup of coffee while standing in puddles of water), maintenance finally coming to fix your stove after 3 months and a threat of suing (thanks for the $3 battery replacement!), the wonderful town drunk hanging out with his friends every night on the lawn while letting his pitbull run around unleashed (I love pitties, don't get me wrong.. but not everyone is fond of one running towards them and their little dogs), and boy do I love those rent hikes every year! The only good thing about this place was the value, to which I could save my money, and run for the hills once I had enough saved! Oh, and I won't be missing the carpenter ants, grasshoppers, and random new bugs entering the apartment through all the shotty windows!
The owners of this complex do not care about the way it looks. It is becoming a ghetto! Paper and garbage all over. Things falling into disrepair. paint peeling, wood rotting, metal rusting! Old, dangerous picnic tables and "park"benches. There are barely any facilities for kids to enjoy-(they closed the old tennis court and removed the basketball hoop!) and hey- NO PLAYING ON THE LAWN! (signs posted). Sure, heat and hot water are included, but your electric bill will kill in Summer since the in wall AC units barely do the job when on HIGH! Getting the picture? Oh, and rent raises vary from year to year . Whim of management. And a slow inept office staff will top it off. SPEND YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE. PAY a bit more and be happy and safe (there was recent fire where 2 units were wiped--stil not repaired months later! It's rapidly becoming a Third World Country!
I've lived at Hillcrest Village since November of 2012. I live in a 1 bedroom/1 bathroom ground floor apartment with 2 small dogs. The apartment is spacious, and has 2 large closets, and 1 linen closet. The bathroom is larger than average. My friends live in a house and my bathroom is almost twice the size of theirs! The bedroom is large enough to fit 2 full beds and the accompanying furniture very comfortably. It has a full sized dining room, and I have a kitchen with a dishwasher. My heat is included in my rent, and my dogs are rent-free! (They have a few breed restrictions, and you are allowed two pets per unit.) There are a few negatives. The apartments are older, so they do have quirks. I have a kitchen drawer that won't close correctly. I also have a new stove top range, but the burners on one side don't always light. My oven works great, but it is small, and the handle on the dishwasher pops off. In my last apartment I had a washer and dryer in my unit. Here, they are in the basement, and they are small, with not enough washers and dryers to accommodate all the units in the building. The staff recently changed over, and we've gotten a new super in the past 6 months. The maintenance guys are great. They are polite, pleasant, and they work hard to get things taken care of quickly. The manager is a little overwhelmed, so sometimes I've had to call more than once to get things taken care of. However, the guys who do the work are phenomenal. It is a great location in a great neighborhood. The town is safe, clean, and the neighborhood feel of the courtyard in my complex feels the same. The complex has a nice pool, and tennis courts. The rent is a great value, and I plan on staying for several more years. I would definitely recommend this complex to others.
This apartment is very comfortable. There always helpful if we need anything. It has a lot sunshine coming through the windows.
I have lived happily at Hillcrest for almost 9 years now. The rooms are large and the apartment has plenty of storage space for my roommate and I. We enjoy sitting out on the balcony when it's nice, or going down to the pool. My neighbors are quiet and I am friendly with many of them. The maintenance workers are great too, you call the hotline to report any issues and someone will come to fix them. I would recommend Hillcrest to anyone that wants to live in a comfortable, family friendly neighborhood.
horrible foundation open spaces all over for black ants and mice to come in your home and believe me they do! maintenance workers are terrible never saw such embarrassing work, doors installed crooked sloppy paint job, i believe this guy's have no training and getting paid $8 in hour. i been here for a few years and only here because it's peaceful and safe place with police very close by another good thing it's a very nice size bedroom other then that it's a rip off with a greedy landlord.
Maintenance staff is inept. Had continual problems with bathroom plumbing. Sink, toilet and tub backing up with black sewage, and BAD bathroom ceiling leaks (ceiling came down once)...all within 6 months of moving in. Each time I was told it was fixed. Property management was HORRIBLE! Refused to communicate with me or admit there was a problem, then tried to make me out as the bad guy! Do yourself a favor....STAY AWAY!
If you don't mind maintenance men not taking care of issues (we've been waiting 6 months for a very simple fix), and you don't mind calling and paying for your own exterminator for ant and spider infestations, then it's a good deal. I'd contact them directly for prices though because we pay a lot less than what is stated on this site.
I have enjoyed living at HIllcrest very much! Diego and the rest of the maintenance crew are absolutely the best! Whenever I have needed help, they have always been there within moments, extremely kind, helpful and professional. I have been proud to call Hillcrest my home, and I recommend Hillcrest to anyone needing an apartment.
