Property Ratings at Hidden Creek
The AC in our apartment has not worked right since we moved in, and it has gotten worse over the past year. The back bedroom in our apartment has no air flow from the vent, and the temperature in the room is usually 85 degrees by the end of the day. My toddler's room used to get cool, but the temperature in his room will now be in the 80s during his nap. Our dining room and kitchen are both usually in the 80s as well. The only room that gets any sort of air flow is the living room, and even then, the temperature is still much warmer than what we set the thermostat at. We have submitted at least 5 maintenance requests for the HVAC system, and made multiple phone calls and sent emails to the property manager. The first requests were closed out as resolved with nothing being done. In October 2021, the maintenance man who showed up admitted that he had no idea what he was doing, despite the office saying their maintenance team is HVAC certified. In June 2022, maintenance showed up, glanced at the thermostat, glanced in the utility closet, and left without doing anything. We have had to call the office every day just to try to get them to do anything. They sent somebody to clean our vents, but the vendor who came out said the vents aren't dirty. We called to follow up and were told the next step is to make sure our vents are pointing the right way. 2 people from the office have also stopped by and had the audacity to say that it feels pretty good in here. They had just walked in from 104 degree heat, so of course it feels good. Regardless, they don't live here and aren't the ones cooking in a 85 degree kitchen that gets up into the 90s if the oven is turned on. They brought a flyer with them that said not to use heat producing kitchen appliances and to focus on the temperature in your body instead of your home. The AC runs constantly. Our electric bill for June 2022 was nearly $300, for AC that doesn't even work. Our newborn has had heat rash for most of her life. We have had to buy window units for each of our bedrooms to make it bearable to sleep in them, and the office has told us they need to be removed. We currently have a dishwasher that doesn't work and has an inch of stagnant water in it. When we submitted the maintenance request, the request was closed out. We now have to hand wash dishes in our hot kitchen. This place is a dump, and to add insult to injury, it's abysmally managed. Make sure you bring a few window air conditioners if you move in.
Wretched move in experience. Our move in was scheduled for 7/31/21. I go into the unit the day before to check it out and it was a disaster. The coils on the furnace were completely corroded. The Air Condition was non-functional. The bathroom tub had enamel cracked and was stained yellow. There was loose hair in bathroom drawers, stains (looks like pet urine) on the carpet. The lock on the balcony door was broken. The washer and dryer were not pulled out and cleaned behind. Piles of mouse droppings and dust and mold were back there. Then the door to the washer and dryer fell on my toddler because it was not even secured into the wall. A kitchen outlet was totally melted (idk if there is electrical damage in the wall), refrigerator dented, and nasty glue like goo on the entry floor. This place was obviously not cleaned before our move in. I have had the worst experience with the management here and I'm not even fully moved in. I've brought concerns to Edna (a supposed 16 year veteran of the property management community) about things we were told before move in. For example that the washer and dryer would be removed prior to our move in so we could use our own units. I had this confirmed by two leasing agents who work for Hidden Creek itself. Edna had the courtesy to reply to my first email with a obviously unhelpful "sorry for the inconvenience" and letting us know two days before move in that the w/d could not be removed. I emailed her back and have not had the courtesy or professionalism of a response as of yet (8/2/21) I respect the staff and have enjoyed the help of Justin but it seems to me that Bridge Property Management (the owner) does not give a single care to what happens on this property. I was about to call the fire department today when (even after pointing out the problem) there were no fire alarms installed in the unit. Thankfully this morning they were put in after yet another reminder that we did not have them. Do not move here, its a joke and I wish I had known beforehand how bad it was. I'll be updating this review as I learn more and hear back from property management personnel.
Property Manager at Hidden Creek, Responded To This Review
We are saddened to read about your less than positive move-in experience in our community and we are looking to connect with you as soon as possible to see how we can alleviate some of these more alarming concerns. Your comfort is very important to us, and we invite you to contact our community manager via Edna.Correia@bridgepm.com so that we can go over each issue. We are eager to hear from you soon and are ready to start making your time with us the 5-star quality that it should be.
Management is the WORST but Maintenance beats it by a long shot. They do whatever they want when they feel like it, you can put a request in online and they’ll show up 2 weeks later. You can tell them directly at the office and they’ll say “I’ll let them know” and they NEVER come. The overall complex is okay a nice environment the apartment itself needs updating and needs to match the rent price.
Let’s just say this is the worst complex I ever lived in. They have had so many staff and managerial turnovers at least 3 different managers and I haven’t even been there one year. The maintenance men are horrible and the entire staff appears to be incompetent of the smallest task. They will call in the cheapeast contractors that will make the job even worse. They will do the bare min. Please go elsewhere and avoid if you can!!!
I was really impressed with my recent request for my AC! A new maintenance supervisor has recently taken over and he actually comes quickly and was efficient at getting my AC up and running again.
Having been here for just over a month, now, I believe I have learned enough to write a basic review. The units look very nice. The complex does, too! Unfortunately, that's the list of the good. That's it. At no point have they ever called me back when they say they will, which is any time you call and get someone that is not a manager. Not even during leasing, did they. We did all the work involved in getting ourselves in here, though I'm sure someone got paid for it as if they had helped us. We were denied a walkthrough of the unit, both times that we asked. It quickly became apparent why: they had not done anything to prep it, beyond (maybe?) vacuuming and dusting. The master bath has not been useable at any point. I have had multiple visits from maintenance where they will simply look around the apartment, and mark the work as completed in their system. When I press them to see when they'll be back to finish what they started, they are surprised, thinking they fixed it already. It's kind of incredible, in a negative way, just how disorganized this place is. The hot water in the kitchen sink will come out a milky white, fully opaque, with a thin sheen of oil at the top, if you were to fill a container. This has not been fixed, and like above, they keep forgetting that looking at it doesn't fix it. The dishwasher didn't get anything clean, but I wasn't jumping at it being broken. I assumed it just sucked. This theory went out the window after it flooded the kitchen. It's been a week since I submitted that maintenance request - when I called today, I got the usual "wait, didn't we fix it?" When we moved in, the master bedroom fan was controlled by a remote and had granular control of its functions. That is not the case now; to get around the light constantly flickering off and on, often as I sleep, they just removed the entire function. I've got a slider on the light switch, now. The maintenance worker let us know that this is an extremely common problem for them. Apparently, there are only so many frequencies for the remotes, so it was nothing more than rank amateur planning that caused this problem and its solution. The only person in this establishment that has treated us like we're something approaching a valued resident is the manager herself, Rachel. I will not point fingers at her, because at least she appears to be trying to help, as much as a manager can.
The apartments themselves are beautiful, and the neighborhood is great. But the staff...the management companies change every 6 months or so, bringing in new office staff and making changes. It hasn't been that bad until Bridge Property Management took over. The office staff are horrible - they have no idea what is going on, they are never actually in the office during posted office hours, and they never answer the phones or respond to emails. The actual property manager never seems to be on site, but they constantly change policies without notifying residents or putting anything in writing. Maintenance requests don't get done - the plumbing was leaking in our apartment and despite several requests, we were told it wasn't something they could fix. They charge for every request, including the things they are legally supposed to maintain (AC, fridge, dishwasher). We've decided we won't be renewing the lease after this year, which is sad because we love our apartment and where we live. We just can't handle the office staff any longer, and we will never live in another Bridge Property Management community again.
We've recently moved into a Three Bedroom apartment only to find that most the appliances have some sort of issue or just don't work. When we brought up our broken Washer and Dryer (which is part of the amenities we're paying for with this apartment), management brushed us off, saying that it's "not a priority". To some small degree, I can understand that. There are people living here who have issues with broken A/C units, flooding water heaters, mold, and I know that the people who moved in at the same time as us have had the same sorts of problems we've had. Also keep in mind that ownership of these apartments has changed hands several times in the past year or so. Between all the complaints, maintenance requests that have been slow to be fulfilled, and disposition of some of the staff, it's kind of obvious they're pretty overwhelmed. Though, the Maintenance Staff is trying. Regardless of how much management has on their plate, it doesn't absolve them of the obligation they have to their tenants to provide the service or amenities that we give them money for. If they're unable to, then it's irresponsible to take money from new tenants. They aren't monsters or anything, but until they can get all of these problems under control and conduct themselves with a bit more professionalism (don't wait to get an apartment prepped for a tenant the day the tenant is scheduled to move in when you've had at least three weeks of notice), you're much better off looking somewhere else to rent.
I have lived here for 6 years and rented 2 different apartments. I liked it a lot here. This past year it has been bought by Bridge properties and it is going down hill quickly. I have all way had a washer and dryer here. Now this company refuses to repair them. There is no laundry facility here either even though it is listed on the amenities. We used to be able to access the trail at the back of the complex but now the gates are welded shut. They do not maintain the fence on the back of the property. There are always board missing. Office staff is rude.Valet trash service is unreliable. Save yourself the stress and rent some where else.
The apartments themselves are very nice and I really enjoy the space I have. Management makes living here terrible. They are completely unorganized and do not care about you. They called me the day I was supposed to move in at 10am to inform me that while I was originally scheduled to move in at noon, I would not be able to pick up keys until 4pm. I had movers scheduled and had to try and adjust with two hour notice the day of. I explained my situation to the management staff and they looked me in the face and said it wasn't their problem. Finally, an assistant manager took me up to the apartment I was supposed to be moving into and let me see that they were not even close to finish cleaning and installing cabinets. They would not budge and did not care how they were putting me in a very terrible position, and provided no solution. After finally moving in the problems have continued. My unit has a washer and dryer in it that they forgot to take out, so when we moved in we had to leave ours on our patio. It has been two weeks and they still have not come to get the washer and dryer out of my unit so my patio is still not usable. My apartment was still filthy when we moved in and many things were broken and I ended up watching youtube videos to figure out how to fix things myself since management will not send maintenance. For this price there are many other apartments in the area and I wish I had chosen any other one. Also, still have not received mail box keys.
comparing to other apartments in this range this place doesn't deserve,no parking space available all the time,u will not feel safe in this place ,electronic gates not working ,trash valet is very bad, their pool like public place and nasty and very small and itis only one pool for whole place ,they are trying to make upgrade to attract u but it is only from outside but they don't offer anything worthy
Buildings are very old and outdated for the price. I have lived here for a few months. My apartment stays at 76-84 degrees during the summer time and will not get any cooler. The AC units are too small and old and the buildings are too old to keep your apartment cool. I run a separate stand alone AC unit ($180 a month untility bill) and changed the seals on the doors and windows out myself to keep the apartment cool. I was told by the manager that “it’s the way apartments are and there’s nothing we can do about it”.
Moved in July last year and had no working AC till Sept, bikes stolen as the gates are always open . I am telling you this as even a Lewisville police woman who used to live here asked if the gates had been repaired . There is a 10 pm curfew on the residents (real ) and per the security notification "you better be out with a purpose" . It is a miserable place to live . Moving ASAP DO NOT MOVE HERE, heed the warning .
