Largely due to its relative isolation from other major metropolitan areas, Sioux Falls has developed thriving local culture with robust shopping, dining, and entertainment scenes, delivering homegrown cultural resources that would be the envy of any city its size. The local rental market offers a diverse range of options -- the historic homes and apartment buildings of the City Center are popular among young professionals seeking to participate in the thriving downtown community, while the quiet suburban environment of the Shindler neighborhood tends to attract folks seeking a tranquil home life. No matter where they live, all residents enjoy the benefits of an exceptionally low crime rate, which sits at roughly half the national average.

Property Ratings at Hidden Hills
Pot smoke in hallways, Needles, garbage all over, crime , cops, fire alarms going off alot, loud noise, horrible!
Only lived here for a month because it was the worst apartment-living experience of my life. The building was always trashed by others who lived there. I’m talking PEE and POOP and PUKE in the elevators!!!! Leaking garbage all over the carpet in the hallways and writing on the walls. There were advertisements for drug sales in the elevator. Many people smoked weed and I could smell it really strong from my own apartment. People partied CONSTANTLY. I’m talking parties STARTING at 2:30 AM!!!! There were police there almost every day to tell people to quiet down, or to make an arrest. It is not a safe environment to live in, and certainly not a clean one. I feel bad for management for having to deal with the mess that is Hidden Hills. Although, I do think they need to do deeper checks into people’s character and history before accepting their applications. So disappointed, as this apartment does have a lot of potential to be a very pleasant, beautiful place to live.
I visit my sister, Ana, there all the time and I’m amazed at how beautiful everything is. It was such a great investment on her part and on the owner for picking such a great place. The only things missing are more parking spaces and a playground for the kids:)
I really enjoy those who around me living in the apartments! Friendly onsite staff too and close to my work.
The apartments themselves are reasonable for the price but it is nearly a constant smell of weed or cigarettes. For a non-smoking apartment, there seems to be a lot of it going on and nothing is done about it.
Hidden Hills Apartments did a great job transforming the community! Brand new apartments starting in the 600's are hard to find. With Sliding Patio Doors and Decks and tucked into a private area surrounded by trees, it makes a nice, quiet neighborhood.
I spent the week with a friend, last weekend because I am planning to move to Sioux Falls in a month or so. My friend lives at Hidden Hills so I got to see her apartment and it is very nice! The building itself is very clean and well kept. The apartment itself is amazing! Very clean and very modern. The choice in design is very classy and homey at the same time. the decks are sizeable and have a great view considering it's in the city. It's quiet in the apartment and peaceful. I looked at another apartment there and it was pretty much the same. Very awesome! I looked at some other places in town as well, and there were a few other good locations, but this one was my favorite. The price for the quality matched up. I saw some horrible places that cost more, and comparable beauty with excessive cost. This place is very nice! I think I found my future home when the time comes! I would recommend these apartments for sure... but you better save me a spot! ;)
These are quality built apartments at a very reasonable rent. Whoever wrote the Stay Away review is an idiot, and probably never even rented an apartment at Hidden Hills. The renters know these are brand new apartments, building products are of the highest quality, windows are thermal vinyl sliders with insulating glass, and more than likely the same as every other newer apartment building in the city.
These apartments have poor soundproofing, low quality windows that let all sorts of air in, its right next to smelly meat plant, loud train tracks next to it, loud planes every day, and all around built with low quality materials and craftsmanship. Do not even both looking at these apartments!
Property Manager at Hidden Hills, Responded To This Review
Thank you for bringing the issue with your windows to our attention. We have had this issue with these windows in the past and it is usually resolved when you open the window and then shut it again, making sure to lock it at the top and the bottom. This should seal the window so no air movement is heard. If you need assistance with this, please let us know and we can have our maintenance person look at it for you.
