With a population of about 101,000, Las Cruces is the largest city in southern New Mexico -- but it doesn't feel that way. With its fantastic mountain views and spacious landscape, the city feels downright cozy. Las Cruces is a college town -- it is the location of New Mexico State University, the only land-grant university in the state. It is also the location of the White Sands Missile Range. Mountains surround Las Cruces, providing amazing views as well as opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, and camping.
Due to its impressive landscape, Las Cruces is often used for filming. Some movies filmed here include Hang 'Em High, Twins, and Traffic. After moving to a Las Cruces apartment, be sure to attend some of the city's annual events, which include the Harvest Wine Festival, the Whole Enchilada Fiesta, the Southern New Mexico State Fair, CrucesCon, and Cowboy Days. Landmarks in Las Cruces include its water towers -- many are painted with murals.

Property Ratings at High Range Village
This is a wonderful place to live! I made the arduous move from Cleveland Ohio to New Mexico last fall; after lots of research on places to live, decided on High Range Village Apts. With many complications involved in such a move, fortunately securing a place to live was not one of them! The Management staff, particularly Sonia, made it a seamless transition and was even sweet enough to ease any concerns I had in regards to settling into my new home and state. My apartment is very nice, cozy, and quiet. The other tenants here are also very nice and I felt and feel very welcomed. I have only had a couple very minor maintenance issues and they have all been handled the same day that I reported them. The Maintenance staff are also super nice and whenever I see them on the grounds I am always met with a smile and a hello. Since I ultimately moved from the cold East coast to be closer to the beautiful weather and great outdoors, I also am happy to say there is no disappointment in regards to location of this complex. There is a protected desert area accessible from the parking lot and hiking trails within 10 minutes of here. This is a great place to live whether you are already a local or moving from out of state! FIVE stars for sure!
I’ve lived here for over 6 years and its just such a low key and pleasant place. I’ve never really had a bad or noisy neighbor. Maintenance requests are very timely and everyone in the office is super friendly. Yeah they aren’t the newest and fanciest face on the block but for the price and neighborhood it’s so good. Big,beautiful trees with birds and bunnies running in and out of the desert really add to the charm. Very friendly dog complex as well.
Property Manager at High Range Village, Responded To This Review
We're pleased to know that your experience with has been and continues to be good one. Thank you for taking the time to recommend us to others. Your kind words are greatly appreciated. Gratefully, High Rand Village Staff
High Range Villages are hands down the best apartments I have lived at. My boyfriend & I have no issues and have the BEST neighbors! We have created amazing friendships not only with residents but with the property managers Sonia & Connie who strive to provide excellent services, resources, etc. to make sure we are living in a happy, safe, convenient, and comfortable residence.
We lived in a 2 bedroom, 2 bath for a little over a year. It was a good place to live for that amount of time. Pros: The staff is friendly, and helpful. Maintenance issues are dealt with promptly They spray the grounds for bugs, and will spray in your apartment should the need arise The ground are well kept, and clean Cons: The air conditioning is a swamp cooler, and it often gets hot before they turn the cooling on They allow smoking, and the smoke quickly seeps into all the apartments The kitchen is in a back section, with zero ventilation/windows. It gets hot VERY quickly You can hear your neighbors easily. Ex: we once heard, through the floor, our neighbor snoring If those cons don't bother you, than this is a good place to live. We liked it fine for a year, but I wouldn't want to live there longer than that.
