Property Ratings at High Valley Estates
The manager lives on the property, which is a good thing, actually. He is very helpful, takes great care of the units, and does not allow any questionable behavior that disturbs other neighbors. The units are inspected about twice a year for maintenance and housekeeping purposes, and if in violation, you are in violation of your lease, and can lose your apartment. Animals are allowed if there is a doctor's note that says that you need the animal for medicinal reasons. So, there are cats and dogs. There is no smoking in the apartments, and that means they should not stink. Also, with the bi-annual checks, the people with animals, therefore, are not messing up the new carpets and those apartments should not stink, either. I hate filthy carpet, and the smell of apartments with smoke-stained walls. That is so disgusting, and I am most grateful that these apartments are well-maintained. The entire complex just got completely renovated. New paint, flooring, cabinetry, the works. It now has the hard wood floor laminate. It is so nice! I do not like the fact that the back porch balconies were replaced with a type of plastic, so we are no longer able to BBQ on our back porches. That is why I give it a 4 instead of a 5. Even though the apartments are inspected by strangers walking through your home being a great inconvenience, I am actually respectful of the intentions of making sure residents are not tearing up the newly renovated apartments. The kids are given free lunches every summer. They are now also helping to make it a community by planting flowers in the new yards. There is also a community action effort and some people come out and visit people in their homes, if they need assistance such as drugs, alcohol, parenting, cooking, outings, recreation, and the like. They are really trying to make this a nice community, even though it is for poor people.
