Property Ratings at Highland Cove
I picked this apartment complex because It had a good layout, washer dryer hookups and was near my work. It's dated and not well maintained but it's been fine for me. I'm very handy so I do most of my own maintenance. Simple things like replacing air filters, fixing kitchen drawers, scraping paint off of the tops of doors to they close better. The maintenance men are very nice and helpful but aren't given the supplies or time they need to fix things properly. The good Neighbors are friendly but give you space and mind their business. Office staff wants to help but often their hands are tied by corporate. They will do what they can to make your life better. I've found them very helpful. They are overworked so just be patient and kind. They've added an amazon locker hub that can receive packages any time day or night. SUPER nice when you are working and can't always make it to the office to pick up packages before they close. Issues I've lived here for 2 years and there are broken tiles in my shower that I requested to be fixed when I moved in, and several times since then. I have given up any hopes of them actually fixing it. I move in 2 weeks and it's not worth the battle. The upstairs shower leaks through the ceiling into my tub. When they "fixed it" they simply splattered paint on the ceiling and all over my towels, art etc. (this was the previous maintenance crew) It's still leaking and the ceiling is staring to drop into my shower. Pool. My apartment is literally next to the pool and pool hours are completely ignored by many people having loud parties till way past midnight when I have work the next morning. Most people are nice and will quiet down if you ask them but expect a new group to show up 20 minutes later and the cycle will repeat every night all summer long. I've asked the office staff for solutions, perhaps a timer keypad or something but they said I just need to keep getting up and asking each new group to be quiet. No awesome but I've survived. Overall if you're looking for a safe location, good neighbors, and a good layout, this should be considered. IF you need up to date finishes and timely maintenance, this is not the place for you.
This will be my second time to lease with this complex. After recently being taken over by a new company, I can definitely say the staff is much more reliable and friendly to work with. Mrs. D is absolutely wonderful and went above and beyond to accommodate me and my family’s needs. I’d very highly recommend this property to those who are looking. They are definitely making some great changes to the community that has been over due.

Thank you for your review. We are excited about the changes we are making to the property. We appreciate you recommending us!!
Apartments aren't all updated as in pictures. Property is still in process of updating units so very unlikely you will get one that looks like picture. Maintenance very slow and not quick to get work orders fulfilled. Up keep of grounds needs some work. Property is under new management so don't expect everything to be fulfilled since they are still working to get place up to pare. Great prices no doubt about it.. but comes with some minor or major downsides depending what you would like out of your living space. Great place to live at for short lease in my opinion.

Thank you for your review. The property has recently been purchased by a new company. All units are being upgraded with new flooring and new black appliances.
Too much for problems Our son Lived here one year and is leaving. 2 bed 1 bath. Soon after move in, reported wet ceiling tiles and water leak above bathtub. Reported and not viewed as emergency. Next day, ceiling tiles carved into bathtub. Took 2 weeks to fix. Reported water leak at washer as well. Throughout spring and summer, reported that AC was not cooling properly. Told it was fixed and it was not. Over 8 times and only once was work order left in apartment. Same time in summer, incurred awful dead animal smell and had flies in apt. Reported Took over week and several calls for maintenance to come inspect. Old management fired and new management. Trying to get to so many problems and complaints. I wouldn't recommend this complex. The office staff are 'friendly' but son continues to have problems with communicating problems from office to maintenance. Recently, AC not working and supervisor fixed. Told electrical wires for AC and heat at same time. Again, we recently reported 3 days ago about new water leak in bath and no AC and no response. 3 days now no response. The Apartment complex as a whole is really old and they do very little to perform lasting fixes. Told place had been renovated when moved in. Moving February 2019. Do not recommend this complex. Wish we could. Grounds are nice with trees but lack of exterior lighting for night.

I still have several work orders that should’ve been finished in August. They have a great texting system, but they don’t stick to it half of the time.

I have been here 4 months, my kitchen light has not worked properly since I have moved in. They dona quick fix then few days later its back to not working. In the past month I have had 3 water leak/flood issues. Each time I am left hours/days with water on my floors. This weekend I reported twice my AC is leaking water all over the floors. Once to the office and reported again to after hours. Hopefully with tomorrow being Momday someone might come reapair the problem and extract the water from the carpet thats been soaked for 2 days. Im sure my next problem will be smelly, moldy carpet. Dont see myself renewing my lease next year!

My fiancé and I have lived here for 3 months now. So far the experience has been pretty good. It’s great quality in a great quality area. Our only issue is that the maintenance is pretty slow/lackadaisical when you need something done. One bug this entire time and nothing else. Great new appliances but no washer or dryer. Other than that pretty cool place
We have lived here for 7 1/2 months now, 2 bd 1 bth, 866 sq ft. Upon moving in I immediately wanted to move out, our unit was roach infested, maintenance had to come and spray every week for three months. They finally went away but recently started resurfacing again. Our ceiling above our shower has been slowly coming apart due to water damage and after calling 3 times about it, they have yet to come and fix it. I wouldn't recommend this complex. The office staff are 'friendly' but are not knowledgeable at all. The Apartment complex as a whole is really old and they do very little to no renovated whats so ever. I guess you get what you pay for. I know as soon as our lease is up I'm moving to a newer and nicer complex, even if that means paying more.

I love the amount of space that I got for what I'm paying. Great deal. They're not luxury apartments but I've been happy with my place. Not noisy, not dangerous. I'd stay here longer if I could, but I'm moving out of town. Definitely recommend these apartments!
The space you get for your rent was far better than any other place I looked at. The only down side is that I wanted a one bedroom with washer/dryer connection and those are very few. I had to take a two bedroom for more rent. They did tell me I could request a transfer when one became available. The model was not available for me to look at, so I am moving in based on floor plans and pictures. Crossing my fingers! The complex was clean and well maintained, quiet and in a nice area. The staff was friendly.
I have been in this apartment for 3 WEEKS and am already leaving. when I moved in I gave the 2 maintenance guys a list of everything wrong (10 things) including unsealed doors and broken shelves. Last night I had water gushing through my unsealed door and my storage unit almost flooded as well because the doors DON'T TOUCH THE GROUND! What kind of place runs like this?? And when I brought this to their attention, the guy told me he had TEN CALLS last night for the same reason, and the woman working told me thats why I should have renters insurance. MAYBE YOU SHOULD ACTUALLY FIX YOUR APARTMENTS AND RESPECT THAT THESE ARE OUR HOMES. Do not live here.

great clean environment and friendly office management that responds in a correct manner as they try there hardest to please the residents in highland cove and friendly friendly oh and did i mention very friendly i hope they are here forever so we can be taken care of as long as i live here thanks for your great environmentally friendly and kind service.
Something break in your apartment? Prepare to bug them constantly to maybe get a half-decent fix, otherwise they will forget about you and never fix it. Terrible management that doesn't care about inconveniencing you, its your problem. Don't rent here!!!

This complex is owned and operated by a new company since 2015 and has really done well at updating the complex and staying on top of any issue that may arise.
