Property Ratings at Highland Hills JXN
I have been here for about 2 months and I absolutely hate it. Everything is painted over and poorly constructed. Maintenance is very slow and complete tasks whenever they get around to it. I’m currently going on a month of consistent flooding and no one has even told me why is it flooding and when will it be fixed. I’ve spent an abundant amount of money on pest control myself because their pest control team not only does nothing, but they come out whenever they please. Roaches & gnats have been a problem since week 1. I’ve NEVER EVER in my life lived with roaches or gnats. The office staff is friendly and that is the only positive thing i have to say about this complex. Unless you NEED somewhere to stay, do not come here.
These apartments are amazing ??....I highly recommend...especially for first timers
I am being a totally honest person when I say it is not a safe environment. The gate has been broken for months , and I know Jackson is not a very safe place period . This is one of the places that is not safe . My window has been shot into by stray bullets, and I saw a man get shot as I was walking out of my apartment . People were bracing themselves. The management is terrible they don’t care about safety nor do they care about the up keep of the apartment. I reported the problems to management and they just brushed it off. They don’t care about the safety of the residents at all . The gate has been broken for a year now allowing anyone to move in .
If you need a sign, this is it. Please pass this complex by. In fact, close out this tab, NOW. A very unprofessional staff, non responsive, their work order system is behind the times, there is no online bill pay, AND THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT ANYTHING BUT PAYING RENT ON TIME.
The only reason this received a one star is because there is no lower option. The staff is unorganized and rushes you through the leasing process before you have time to read it. The lease is a trap. In the unfortunate event that you have to move here, call a week in advance to ensure your unit is ready.
I started the move in process for this complex in April, paid a holding fee for my unit and all. Here it is the end of August and the unit I paid for is not ready, there is still a tenet residing in it. Apparently no one checked to ensure that they had moved out. Completely unprofessional and careless.
Unless you're in a huge crunch to find an apartment, I wouldn't stay here. They care more about promoting their renovation (which is sub-par) and money than the actual residents' happiness. I lived there for well over two years, and I wish I had moved sooner. The maintenance upkeeps of the apartments are lacking, who I assume is the property manager is extremely rude, they don't stick to their words, and the list goes on. At first, it was a nice place to live, and the one-bedroom apartments are pretty spacious. Plus, it's really close to a lot of the places I frequented. I enjoyed it so much that I chose to stay another year, and the older lady I originally signed my lease was really, really nice. As time went by, I noticed things got worse as they were advertised that they'd gotten better. I shouldn't have to call every, single day for two weeks about a leak in my bathroom ceiling where the air conditioning unit is located causing it to flood every night. My air conditioning shouldn't be out for a week in the middle of summer. The bathtubs are cheaply painted with something, so it starts to peel really badly after a while. When I first moved in, I reported a couple things that needed to be fixed when I did the initial walkthrough. None of them were ever fixed even when I constantly reported them. My parents insisted they change the carpet because it was gross and ragged. That was never done, so it only got worse over time. The back gate may as well not exist because it does nothing for security considering it was almost always broken. I had more issues here than I've had anywhere else. I moved out as soon as I had funds to leave early. If you report anything in person or over the phone, make sure to get a name and keep records. Also, they don't have any kind of perks, such as a student or work discount, worth staying there for. The only one I ever did was refer a friend who also lived there for two years before he moved after graduation. You get a couple hundred off your rent. I will say it's actually worth living a little further from everything for a slightly higher price than living here.
I have been here for about 6 months. They take complete pride in their $7million dollar renovation, but their maintenance is little to no existence. Since I’ve been here, my air/heat stopped working completely 4 times. I literally called and walked to the office every day for someone to fix it. Each time, it took them 3 days to knock on my door to EXAMINE what was wrong and an entire week to fix. (They would wait until 2-3 hours before their shift ended to fix my unit). My air is currently out again. I called, left voicemails, spoke to the people and went to the office. I have YET to have someone to knock on my door to just examine what it wrong. I absolutely hate it here & do not recommend anyone living here. Tenants are not a first priority.
Since day one I have had problems, when I first moved in maintenance came and had to replace the toilet which took them 4 months to do. I've been staying here for 7 months and it does not get better, there is holes around the window, my window is building up mold, and every time I wash clothes the water comes up in the master bedroom bathroom sink, but theres more !!!! They "lost" the key to my unit three times and I had to go down there for them to remake it, it takes FOREVER for maintenance to fix anything around here, I had my door fixed twice before they fixed it correctly and they haven't came to paint it (that was 3 months ago) they put a hole in my wall to fix the leak the tub was creating, and the guy who fixed the wall broke the toilet, they had dead cables lines so I had to pay comcast $80 more just to get my cable and internet hooked up. IT'S ALWAYS SOMETHING NEW WRONG. I moved in here from Chicago, not seeing it, going off the online picture I thought it would be nice and I didn't want to pay admin fees and applications fees for every application I did.
Staff is rude and unprofessional, from their manager to their maintenance workers. Our apartment has had copious issues since moving in and even with countless calls and work ordered put in nothing has been fixed. We have been here over a year due to them trapping you into a new lease if you don't give a 60 day notice of moving out (which they do not remind you to do.) When you call the front office they hang up on you 1/2 the time and the other half of the time the workers will transfer you to the manager if you are calling to complain about their horrible customer service where their manager promptly uses her hedious attitude to talk down to you as she essentially puts off whatever your calling about to the "next week." When the following week arrives, nothing is fixed still. 1/5 stars is too kind for this place. 1/2 our toilets don't work, the master floods from the window when it rains, the kitchen floods from the broken sliding door when it rains, there are water leaks in the ceiling, there are bugs crawling everywhere due to these entrances/ windows not being sealed off properly, there are cracks in the walls, there are holes in the wall that are carelessly painted over as a "fix" and they do not come and replace the air filters, batteries in the smoke detectors and/or light bulbs as they should. The only complaint I have that these unqualified people aren't responsible for is that this location also has hour long water outages once or twice ever other week and power outages just as often.
This place is horrible! We moved into a brand new apartment and it was dirty. They didn't even bother to clean it before we moved in. I had an internal leak and it took two weeks before they came to fix it. It's also not a safe place. May car was broken into and my laptop was stolen. People are always lingering, waiting on you to get careless so they can rob you. I did not feel safe! The staff is also unprofessional! Do NOT live here!!!!!!!!!
Towne Hill is a nice neighborhood. The pool is nice, weight room could be better. The staff is friendly. They like to keep the grounds clean. The only complaints I have is when I first moved in the toilet was not working and the sink was clogged. The shower doesn't have enough water pressure to really reach the back of the tub. We have a 2 bedroom and for the price the unit could look better.
I was ecstatic as the manager shown me my new apartment. The staff was kind and very convenient.
I have been living here for a year and I have a number of experiences that may or may not deter other people from choosing this community as their home. The site doesn’t let me use many characters so I’ll go straight to the point. First of all, the staff and management are extremely rude and uncooperative. They sound nice enough on the phone or when you're visiting, but once you commit to staying with them, you're doomed. Secondly, the facilities maintenance team is slow and inefficient. I had a leak in my main bedroom for over a month. I had no A/C for four days. Emergency maintenance refused to open the door when I got locked out because I did not have $40 in cash on me. Online maintenance requests or emails never get answered. I got my bike stolen. It is not particularly safe. There are no security personnel hired or security cameras installed. People run the gate and jump the fence all the time. Overall, I put up with a lot because I kept telling myself that I would not be able to find anything cheaper for the size of the apartment I am in. Now that it is no longer the case, I am definitely looking at my options.
Neighbors aren't very nice and are kinda loud but the staff is nice. Bad parking but all of the appliances work well inside the apartment.
This is a nice place to live. I gave it 3 stars because i live in a townhouse and its extremely hot upstairs in the winter and cold downstairs in the summer. Most of the apartments are older and management sometimes aren't very accommodating. They tell you one thing and then do another. Overall the apartments are nice. its not really noisy. The prices are a little high because of the way they add water to your rent. besides that, this is a nice safe gated place to live.
