Property Ratings at Highland on Briley
This place is horrible. Simple maintenance request are not completed. They lie about pest control. They don't tell you that you have a water bill and the property manager takes your rent payments and applies it to the water, trash, sewage and renter insurance and then say you haven't paid the full balance of your rent and then charges you a late fee. I have been waiting six months to get repairs. My door doesn't lock, I can't use my stove, water leaks from the ceiling and then they will not help you file an insurance claim. The will not return your calls or emails. The fitness center is closed, the laundry facility does not work, there is trash all over the place. The water is constantly cut off because of a leak. There is mold in the apartments that has been covered with new paint. The dishwasher doesn't work, the showers leak but they won't fix it but it's costing you money. These apartments were built in 1969 and are old. If you are going to pay high rent prices go somewhere else. These is not a good place to live. Management always has and excuse. There are 407 units here and only 2 maintenance men. Please, please, please find somewhere else to live. I can't wait to get out of my lease.
Violent crime, horrible management and way way way overpriced.
I am so sick of this complex, at first i was going to give them a chance when they made some mistakes but now i’m over it. every time i have an issue it takes forever to get resolved or they don’t care. I’ve only been here for 3 months now & have had enough issues to last me my whole lease. When i first got here, I was given an apartment that was ran down, disgusting, & was NOTHING like i saw in the pictures. I pitched a fit and they finally gave me an updated unit & gave me a discount. also, when I first moved in it took them a while to give me a mailbox key, then I needed to do my service request to fix everything that was broken when I moved in, they only fixed maybe one thing and said it was enough after they already reported that they had been to my apartment twice to fix the things but never really ever showed up. My rent had been wrong twice now with random extra fees i had to go get taken off after pitching another fit. Today I woke up and my car was towed because the complex does not have enough parking for everyone so we have to park on the curb sometimes, I work 12 hour shifts and don’t get home until late, It isn’t my fault they don’t have enough parking for all of their residents!!! now i’m out of work for a day & in the hole $200 extra dollars to get my car out of impound!! The leasing staff is nice, but they are all fake faces just to keep your money coming in. The walls are so thing here I can hear my neighbors cough. don’t bother here, i’m sick of it already & it’s only been a couple months!!!!
We have currently been without air conditioning for 5 days in the middle of the hottest month of the year. The maintenance staff somehow forgot about us, and the office staff never answers the phone. Don’t waste your time with this place. I’m gone at the end the of my lease.
TERRIBLE! TERRIBLE! TERRIBLE! Staff has absolutely NO communication within themselves, to residents, or to maintenance. Pools are ALWAYS closed. Gates always open. Trash everywhere, roaches everywhere (even tho you pay a pest fee you can't get them to come out and actually spray for them no matter how many times you request it). Also they need to get their trash taken out like three times a week for how many people live here. I have been yelled at my maintenance numerous times for not having a key on file even tho i have given them a copy THREE TIMES! I can't stress enough how there are better places out there, DEF NOT WORTH THE MONEY YOU PAY!TERRIBLE! TERRIBLE! TERRIBLE! Ive i got give it negative starts i would. The pools are NEVER open, maintenance takes forever. There is trash everywhere. And the are so understaffed ALL THE time that no one ever answers the phones or is in the office. It is a "gated" community but the gates never close. THERE ARE better places for your money.
DO NOT MOVE IN HERE!!!!! Honestly this have been the worst apartments I've live at, dont let leasing office fool you that the only thing in the complex that they make sure looks good. I had to have the light in my kitchen on 24/7 the first month i lived there because the switch wasn't working that means i was wasting unnecessary electricity when the finally fixed it they didn't offer some type of compensation, during summer AC goes out all the time and it takes them weeks to get it fix. They never answer the phone if you have an issue and every time you go in the office you're told something different they change staff often so you never get someone that knows what they are doing, good luck on finding a parking space after 5 there is litter all around the complex in general just stay AWAY this apartments.
I have lived here for 2 years and while the space itself is decent, the staff and management is a hot mess. They have repeatedly tried to overcharge me and no matter how many times we tell them and show proof of insurance, they keep leaving threatening letters about not having it. They also keep assuming we havent paid the pet fee. It is obvious they are fundamentally disorganzied hiding behind a veneer of fresh paint and "renovated" office space. Every time I have been in the office, there were new people sitting at the desk and a new paint color on the wall. They clearly are just chewing through staff which is not a good sign. Would not recommend.
This has been one of the worst properties/apartments complexes I have ever stayed at I really wish I would have done my research but never any parking, leasing staff RUDE AF, maintenance SUCKS my work orders are never completed and even the corporate office will not assist. I wouldn't even allow roaches to rent a place from Cedars absolute waste of space they need to new management or go out of business
Property Manager at Highland on Briley, Responded To This Review
We're deeply saddened to learn that your time in our community hasn't full filled your expectations. Please stop by the office so that we can clear up any remaining confusion and work to improve your stay. Though we understand your frustrations with our parking lot, we do our best to provide ample parking for our residents and their guests, however, we are limited to the space we have available.
BAD EXPERIENCE EVER.*** I live in this apartment for about a year, and I will definitely not going to renew my lease. I got my car towed today because I couldn't find a place to park my car. so if you have car and you expect to come after 7pm you better not to try come home.
Bad communication: the staffs are NOT friendly at all. I had maintenance issues with the AC and drainage. It them 4 days to fix it. Also even there are 3 swimming pools, but they didn't open them the whole summer time. It doesn't really seems the manager and staff care about the residents all they care about is increasing the numbers of paid parking spots and towing people cars.
Staffs and manager are very rude and don't care about the residents. I've been called the office twice about maintenance issues, and it took them 4-5 days to come and fix them. And also there are No enough parking space specially for whose who come home late. The towing car drives around all day, so be careful about where you park your car. Very poor management. Don't get fooled by the low price it's not worth it. don't recommend anyone to rent here, and I not going to renew my lease here for sure.
I have lived here for 5 months. Two times I have had to stay at a hotel down the road because there was no parking and I did not want my car towed. Yesterday I had to work a double shift so I got home late and exhausted. I parked in a no parking zone at the dumpster because there was not a single parking space in the complex and I was extremely tired. By 7:30 am my car was towed. Not only am I paying close to $1000 a month to live here but I have had to pay the cost of a hotel twice (almost $300) and now $157 to get my car back. All I need is ONE space and I can't even get that. I can't afford to live here with all the "extra" cost being incurred due to the lack of parking. Beyond the parking situation...office staff, on the majority, are rude and condescending after the lease is signed. Fire alarm has been set off 3 times in 5 months (no fire), maintenance staff urinate behind the dumpster (yea, I saw you), "Gated" means nothing as far as security because anyone can get in, constantly have to watch for golf carts driven by employees because they are apparently training for NASCAR, etc. I hate it here and will not be renewing my lease.
