Property Ratings at Highland Place
Good apartment. I recommend staying here, safe area and clean.
I love the location and how generally quiet the apartment is. The apartments are nice and have good appliances, including a washer/dryer in my studio, which is hard to find for the price point and location. However, the poor management over the past ~year has really made me dislike living here more and more. There are constant problems (stolen packages, car breakins in the "secure" garage, broken garage door that took months to fix, both doors leading to the street broken and/or open to anyone, callbox not working etc), and emails about these issues almost never get a response. A resident's dog attacked another dog and a visitor of mine on two different occasions and nothing was done. I hope that the new ownership/management can turn things around, but otherwise, I'll be moving when my lease is up.
Highland place is awesome and is the most ideal location in the city
the management is horrible, residents trying to make it a nicer place to live are a nuance to them. Getting basic saftey stuff fixxed and stopping crime isn't a priority for the managmant
Notice how all of the 5 star reviews are from years ago? I have lived here for a year, and we have been through 4 different managers. 1 year ago, we had a great manager, on-site maintenance, and had issues addressed within 24 hours. Now, there are ant infestations that take more than 1 month to get an exterminator in. Rampant theft, cars stolen and broken into outside, homeless people sleeping in the common area, apartments rented out short term. Management gets constant complaints and gaslights, ignores, or puts a bandaid on it. We had a neighbor who’s dog almost killed another persons dog, who stole packages, and caused a lot of other chaos, and it took them months to evict him. The building is NOT SECURE. Your maintenance requests will be ignored, which is bad when the quality of the building is so low. Rental prices go up almost monthly, so good luck trying to stay. “CAM” fees of building maintenance are usually $50 a month (you will be paying the owner’s real estate taxes, and any expense to operate the building), plus $50-$100 in utilities. Plus paying $135 per month per car for parking. Plus $50 a month for a storage unit. So add on $300 or more to the already crazy high rent prices. If you love: maintenance issues that take multiple emails and phone calls and still weeks to be addressed; your car getting stolen; people breaking into the building and it never getting addressed; insane fees and sky high and rising rents; constantly new management that quits or gets fired every few months; new neighbors all the time because people move out or in almost daily, then Highland Place is the place for you!
Highland place is a great community! Very chill environment I enjoy living here!
Highland Place has greatly exceeded my expectations. The apartment itself is an exceptional value given how expensive rentals have become. Ive had no concerns with noisy neighbors, packages going missing, or any of the normal apartment living concerns. The property is clean and well maintained. The neighborhood feels very safe and is very pet friendly. A great find in the highlands area!
With close proximity to 32nd and Tennyson, Highland Place offers a great location for restaurants around West Highland. The apartments are in nice conditions and offer a solid value for the price point.
Great place, nice amenities. Apartment design is super cute and thats what sold me.
Great location, great service staff and office staff. Very happy living here overall. Any maintenance requests have been addressed quickly and the maintenance team has been extremely helpful with any questions Ive had.
We moved into Highland Place 4 months ago, and it was a great decision! HP is a great community, full of awesome people, in a terrific location. The building participates in fun activities together, such as kickball, bingo, happy hours, and of course, rooftop BBQs! The building is quiet, and maintenance is on their A-game if ever needed. I'm so glad we chose HP as our home!
