Property Ratings at Highland Ridge
Don't rent this apartment, They will not treat you well. Im currently rent this place, i lived here less than a month. When i first move in they give me a packet with many documents without explain to me anything. In those packet have a paper show me how i need to pay the payment with the account number. Those account number are wrong, i couldn't pay it on-time. They ended up charge me 10% late fee. I talked to them, they say i need to change that account number to my apartment number which they didn't tell me first, and nothing show on that paper that i should change the account number. They talked to me very rude saying that it's not their jobs to explain to me, but if i have questions i should ask them. They also send me a Notice to leave the property within 7 days or payment payment with late fee. I told them that they should call me or email me first before send me this notice, they say that they dont want to do that, they just want to send notice. This is ridiculous. Another thing is they didn't remove snow well enough, most likely they let the snow dry on it own, it turn into icy road. And the trash dumpster is full most of the time.
I have lived here for almost two years now and I love everything about it. It may be a little more expensive, but isn't everything??? Maintenance staff is great and comes the next day, every time I submit a maintenance request. There are "quiet hours" after 10pm and I swear I never hear a noise past that time. The views are awesome. I have never had any issues! Less than 5 minutes from NKU, so it's perfect for anyone in college. I can't speak about the other rooms, but my room was clean when I moved in. I have a one bedroom and its spacious.
The staff and maintenance suck. They never really know how to be helpful when problems arise. All of the amenities were closed the entire 12 months I lived here but they still made us pay full rent. Things break all the time. The fridge and microwave and stove are all very old. The cabinets are crooked, there are hardly any light fixtures, garbage disposal breaks often. I could go on and on. Dont live here ;)
This property is beautiful. Staff is attentive. Any issue is resolved in a timely manner.
Save yourself a headache and move somewhere else nearby NKU. Management has changed twice, and there has been more leasing consultants than I can count in the last year, maintenance workers never remain on staff long, receiving packages is a joke, the cabinets/drawers inside are made of the cheapest possible material (particle board) which means screws in cabinet doors constantly work their way out and need refurbishing, maintenance requests take days to months to get fixed, the doorknob is basically a rusty puzzle-box that I'm told "can't get any better than it is",... the list goes on but I think you see my point. They don't care. Avoid the headache and rent somewhere else.
DO NOT LIVE HERE. They nickel and dime you for everything. The management never knows what's going on because there is a new manager every other month. They charge you for every little thing and when you move out, they try and get every penny that they can from you. Multiple times my water would be turned off for maintenance without any reason. The maintenance guys are awesome but the management is horrible. I've never seen anything like it. I lived there for a year and they went through at least 6-7 managers. It's always someone new and never knowing what is going on. There's just so many better options around.
I wish I could give this 0 stars. The new management is terrible and will only take your money. This place is over priced for it's quality. I have had countless issues with my apartment and after any type of resolution it is still a crappy apartment.
I absolutely love my apartment, other than the awful roommates I have had I loved living in Highland Ridge. So close to NKU where I attend school, and minutes to downtown Cincinnati and Newport! I highly recommend these apartments to anybody.
The apartment I moved from was much larger but not as comfortable as my new two bedroom here at Highland Ridge in KY. It is a square set up totally open floor plan with a open area to see into the kitchen. Plenty of room for a table and chairs. My couch and recliner fit nicely. The bedrooms are large enough to walk around my queen sized bed. I even have a recliner chair in the bedrooms. I am told that some apartments have walk in closets. Mine does not. The closets are as long as the wall with mirrored doors that roll. I have a back patio with a storage closet that is quite large. Over all I am quite pleased.
I would not recommend this complex to anyone. They are over priced for the quality. My rent seems to go up every other month without any changes. They recently switched to the residents paying for their own water and sewage, which is fine, but then their water lines break or they have issues with the system and we pay for it. One of my water bills was $73 for one month. And the office service personnel are rude when you call about issues.
While communicating with the staff, I received a very welcoming feeling, but when I went to visit I felt like they could care less if I moved in. It has some nice features: volleyball court, the paint an accent wall in the rooms, but some of it does seem dated.
