Property Ratings at Highland Station
Moved out of my apartment at Highland Station back in September. Never received my deposit back figured they were busy due to having yet again another property manager (4th one in the year i lived there). Decided to call today and they said i left my apartment dirty and missing appliances. Long story short I’m getting my deposit back because he said “since you have proof your apartment wasn’t dirty we will issue your deposit back”. Seriously how sketchy can you get. ALWAYS take pictures of your apartment upon moving out! ??
This place is terrible. From mice, to theft, to homeless people roaming around the halls, to trash smells being present throughout the building because the trash room is attached to the building and it’s not well cared for. They try to sell you that it’s a secure building. It’s not. During office hours the front door is open. And the trash room garage is left open often due to the bad smell (they try to air it out). One day I went in and a homeless man was picking through the garbage and he told me he comes in that way every morning to get coffee at our communal coffee bar.
Overall the apartment complex is nice, I enjoy my unit, I enjoy the area and I enjoy the amenities. My review strictly comes down to the unethical business practices that continue to come up from my time at the Highland Station. I have lived here about a year and a half now. If you look at all the 5 star reviews of this place they are done by people who have either just moved in or are about to move in. This is due to the fact that they call you very early on in your lease over and over again to please leave a review and ask if there's anything they can do for you. Anyone who lives here for a long period of time know that this building is run for one purpose only, and that is to nickel and dime you as harshly as possible. They charge a common electric fee which means you're paying electric fees for any lights or electricity used outside of your unit. Last year they increased the monthly charge of your cable and internet package for $50 a month in the middle of my lease for every person in the building. On top of that they put no cancel or exit ability into your lease, say you are being relocated for work they give you literally 0 option to exit your lease you are stuck onto it until the end of your term. Meaning you are either stuck paying double lease, turning down a great opportunity, or trying to get your company to pay for your lease. There is no ethical standard or loyalty for the group that runs this building. Most Connor Group run buildings will have similar reviews to this and someone from the building will put in the comments that they will solve your issue. There is no solution they just want to make it seem to the public that they are resolving these issues. We are currently on our third building manager since I have lived here the building is nice but unfortunately it is plagued by the company who run it. I truly thank some of the great people who have worked here. Mike who did maintenance was amazing. Gwen was a past manager and truly tried her best to make this a better place to live.
The building alarm system is inactive, entrances are left open at night, homeless people wander into the building, trash is not collected and accumulates with the most awful odor throughout the building. Mold and roaches are in common areas. Homeless people live in an adjoining storage unit business and are beginning to camp on the street one block away. If you're a young adult or a woman, I would encourage you to find a safer, cleaner building elsewhere.

As a Mom helping her daughter relocate to a new city we are so happy with Highland Station apartments. It's safe and in a nice area to live. The apartments are so nice and really thought out to exactly what you need. Savannah in the management office has been so helpful from showing us the apartment, application process and after move in I can't thank her enough. My daughter has been here a month now and we are really happy with this choice. I highly recommend.
Not one complaint! In a cute one BR with with a balcony on a pretty courtyard. The staff couldn’t be any nicer or more helpful and the residents are friendly and considerate. Lots of amenities too. It’s reminded me how much I love living in the Highlands!
Expensive, constant price increases for no improvements. Poor management. Doors/garage gate constantly broken - twice late to work due to unable to get my car out of garage until maintenance was able to come.
I was one of the longest standing residents and I only lived there for 2 years. You pay way too much for utilities and the worst part is they will not tell you how much you will be paying. I lived in a studio and my RBS bill was $100-120 every month and my water was only $6, everything else is "apartment fees". The management is extremely aggressive for resigning when your lease is up. This is not a home this is a business. Great location and the pool is a blast but not worth dealing with the leasing women.
I just moved here for school and was thrilled with how welcoming and helpful the staff was from the beginning. I was able to do a virtual tour with one of the associates prior to moving here and loved everything I saw. Great amenities, luxury kitchens, and everything in between. I am so happy here!
I've been here for about a month and love it so far! The staff in the leasing office are always very friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The apartment complex is clean and modern, offering great amenities. The unit itself is beautiful, clean, and up to date with modern stainless steel appliances. The apartment is in a perfect location being close to stores, restaurants, etc. I would definitely recommend Highland Station to anyone who is looking for an apartment in the area!
I had one week to find an apartment and move to Louisville for a new job. During this time, the staff at Highland Station were very helpful and flexible when it came to getting me in right away. The apartment has been great so far. I couldn’t see it in person before I moved and yet it’s everything I expected and wanted!
The staff was super helpful and friendly helping me find an apartment that fit exactly what I needed! They clearly communicated everything with me always and made the move-in day super stress free and easy! 100% recommend living here. The apartments are beautiful and look just like they do in pictures!
I have been a resident here for less than a week and have had a wonderful experience so far! The office staff are super friendly and eager to help. The guy who runs the grounds, Mike, has been amazing! He noticed I was trying to unload 2 twin box springs and mattresses from my car and immediately offered to assist without me saying a word. AWESOME customer service! I would recommend this complex to anyone looking for an upscale living experience.
I love it here so far! The leasing women are super friendly and very helpful! The maintenance man is always reliable and will fix anything. The apartment building is so clean and everyone is very friendly. My studio is perfect and has a nice courtyard area!
I've been here for a month and love it so far! The staff in the leasing office are always very friendly, welcoming, and attentive. The apartment complex is clean and modern, offering great amenities. The Starbucks coffee station is a huge plus. The unit itself is beautiful, clean, and up to date with modern stainless steel appliances. Looking forward to making Highland Station my new home!
I absolutely LOVE living here! It's nice, quiet and the amenities are wonderful. Katie in the leasing office does a great job of keep in contact with you from the moment you sign your lease, and through move in. I had absolutely no issues, and wish I would've discovered this complex when I first moved to town!
I moved into Highland Station recently and the staff has been cordial and helpful. The other residents have been respectful and the amenities I have access to are sufficient given the cost of living in this community
The leasing, move in process and living situation has been average so far - we moved in about 2 weeks ago. Since I was long distance prior to moving here, my fiancé visited the property and was able to show me the apartment via FaceTime. The property is sufficient for a short term lease, I'm not sure I would live here long term. The courtyards were sold to us as pet friendly yet were closed for pets a few days after we moved in due to excessive waste and irresponsible actions by other residents. There could have been other ways to handle the situation - installing and reviewing cameras to find the guilty party.
Quick and Easy for an out of state move. Regular communication throughout the entire process including day of move-in.
Everything about my move was easy thanks to the flexibility of the Highland Station Leasing office! They truly care about their residents and make an effort to know you by name. In addition, to feeling at home. The amenities are great! There’s a gym, Starbucks coffee machine (YES!) and a dog park. My pup loves the dog park and the other dog friends he’s made. Everyone with dogs has been super nice! I’m thankful highland station is so dog friendly. It’s a good feeling knowing you’ve made some friends and so has your dog! ??
Highland station is in a great locations with exceptional amenities available. I have a very busy job with odd hours and the staff always finds way to make things easy. Additionally, when my friends come over they always gawk about how nice my place is. Lived here for 2 years and just resigned my 3rd year.
I love living at Highland Station - and so do my dog and daughter! Starbucks coffee (and hot chocolate) available daily in the lobby, amazing dog park, pool, covered parking, responsive management, high ceilings, high end finishes and even storage units of all sizes throughout the bulking.... the list could go on! I would recommend HS to anyone looking for an apartment.
Just moved from out of town, management has made the transition to a new city very easy. Apartment is in a great part of town, can walk to dozens of local restaurants and bars. Amenities are awesome as they have a Starbucks coffee machine that I use daily and theatre room and gym as well. Excited for the summer when the pool opens. All in all great experience so far working with Katie, Teresa, and the maintenance staff.
Highland Station apartments is a great place to live! I moved to Louisville from Houston and was a little worried about the size of my space. In Houston everything is pretty huge, but I have made myself right at home here. I love how cozy my apartment is. The staff and residents are very friendly here. A great perk about highland station are the amenities. From the movie theatre to the AMAZING Starbucks coffee/hot chocolate machine. Highland station is also very pet friendly. I do not have a pet unfortunately but EVERYONE around here does. There are big dogs, medium dogs, small dogs… any size or breed you could think of. There is even a cute doggy park for them to play. I do not have a pet, but it is good to know that if I ever got one it would have a great place to live. The best part about living here is how close it is to literally everything. It is 5 minutes away from my school (University of Louisville School of Medicine) and right down the street from Bardstown road. If you are looking for a cute and friendly place to live Highland Station is definitely worth checking out!
I just moved here a month ago and love it. It was my first apartment out of college so I wanted somewhere where I felt safe, a decent price, and in a good area. This apartment complex was perfect for me! It’s very modern and so close to everything. They have a garage door in the parking garage and scan in access so I feel safe at all times. There are also great amenities like the pool, fitness center, movie theater, and common area. Highly recommend!
Highland Station is an amazing apartment complex. I found out relatively last minute that I would be moving to Louisville for an internship for the semester. Everyone in the office was extremely welcoming and helped me make sure that all of my required documents were completed on time prior to moving in. They are also very down to earth and always willing to lend a helping hand. They truly do their best to ensure the best care and experience while living at Highland Station. I would extremely recommend living here!!
Highland Station is just as advertised! It is nice and new in a popular part of Louisville surrounded by bars and restaurants. I looked at several other places in the Highlands as well as some in NuLu and Germantown and the prices were competitive after it's all said and done. Amenities are great, and I can't wait until the summer when the pool is opened back up. Noise has not been an issue thus far living on the third floor (there are 4 floors), and the building is in great shape with a very responsive maintenance and front office.
Moved from out of town and couldn’t come and search the town for apartments. Here the FaceTimed me for my walk through and when arrived it was exactly what I wanted. Wonderful location and love the parking!!!!
This apartment has been everything I had hoped for. It's in a great location that is in walking distance to many bars and restaurants. The office staff are very accommodating and pleasant. From the modern appliances to the waterfall shower, it truly feels like a luxury apartment.
I just moved in this month and I have had a very pleasant experience here so far. The staff has been very nice and accommodating, and the apartment complex is by far the cleanest of all the apartments I've lived at. I really love my apartment, especially the spacious master bathroom, and I'm overall happy I decided to live here.
I’ve been here for 7 months now and have had a great experience. Apartments are very sound resistance, haven’t once been bothered by noise from my neighbors to either side or above. Minutes from work downtown and a short walk to bars and restaurants in the highlands. Staff is great and very helpful. Even kept the pool open late into the fall while the weather stayed nice which was greatly appreciated.
Moved from NYC- looked at many apartment buildings... Great place to live for young professionals! Practically brand new apartments with all of the amenities! Great location- close to bars and restaurants. Nice people. Garage parking. Pool in summer. Gym. Entertainment center. Great decision to move here!!!
Living at highland station is great- management is very nice, accommodating. Overall the experience has been quite pleasant!
Moved a few months ago from Chicago. Great apartment. Great amenities. Great area to live in. Love that it is a dog friendly apartment complex.
The apartment has a lot of natural lighting, shower is great, package room system is decent , and the location is great; roughly 15 mins from most places that you probably want to get to
Excellent location. Vibrant area with tons of bars/restaurants less than half a mile away. Great spot for young professionals. Modern and updated appliances/bathroom. Amenities are excellent. Free Starbucks coffee machine. Friendly staff.
This apartment complex is amazing. It is in an inviting neighborhood, where I feel safe and accepted. The hallways are always clean and decorated nicely. The apartment itself is the perfect fit for me. The space is open & I can change my layout anyway I like it. The bedroom is cozy and has amazing windows for natural light to stream in. The bathroom is modern, with an awe provoking rain shower that is engineered in such a unique way, I always want to show my guests. The closet is large and has plenty of storage space. The kitchen and island is the perfect place to cook a meal for friends and host a few people over. The balcony is a nice place to sit and enjoy the weather, curl up and read a book. I am thoroughly impressed and extremely happy I chose Highland Station to live at!
My husband and I were new to Louisville and loved the complex when we did a tour. Once we moved in, it exceeded our expectations. The apartment itself is spacious, clean, and super cozy. The staff is unbelievably sweet and friendly. Truly have enjoyed living here. Would highly recommend!
I moved from Chicago to Louisville over the summer and had a hard time trying to find an apartment. When I came across highland station, it had everything I wanted - great location and neighborhood, safe, modern apartments with good amount of space at an affordable cost. It was perfect. After visiting a couple other apartments without luck, I came in for a tour and was immediately sold and signed a lease on the spot! I’ve now been living here for 4-5 months and I absolutely love it. Sound proofing is great it’s very quiet I never hear my neighbors. There’s a courtyard with lots of dogs which is great to watch if you love dogs. I work from home out of my studio apartment and I’ve never felt cramped for space. The apartments let in lots of natural light which is great as I often don’t even have to turn the lights on. The staff at the leasing off are so great and friendly, they always make an effort to ask about my day or things they remember about my personal life. There’s a locker package system which is great for safety, and the added bonus of a coffee machine, gym, pool and movie theater on site. I honestly couldn’t be happier with my home! I highly recommend this complex to anyone looking to move!
The Highland Station apartment complex is a great place to live and I’ve enjoyed living here for the past 1.5 years. The facility is beautiful and the residents and staff are really awesome. Some perks of living at HS are access to its new amenities and close proximity to the cool happenings in the Highlands!
I recently moved to Louisville for work and was looking for a place that would meet all my needs as a newbie to Lou and one that would make me feel at home. Highland Station was the obvious choice! The amenities are amazing, location is perfect (Bardstown road has endless food and entertainment), units are beautifully designed, and to top it off , friendly staff! I’d highly recommend Highland Station to anyone looking for their next home! P.s. ask for Katie at the leasing office, she’s great!
I am very picky about writing reviews and don't do so unless i am truly impressed an so far 'Highland Station' is one of those that managed to do that.I recently moved to Louisville for a new job and was looking for a comfortable place that's close to downtown to minimize the commute time to my work and at the same time be a safe neighborhood, a good community and most importantly an attentive and accommodating management as I had to deal with some horrendous management staff in the past. Well...long story short... Highland Station checks all the right boxes!! Let's begin with the location. The Apartment complex is situated quite close to downtown and is about a 10 minute drive to the heart of downtown so you don't have to jostle with the traffic even during rush hours. Also it is in a quaint neighborhood, with in walk able distance to one of the major party places in the city which is a long stretch of road lined with a plethora of bars, restaurants, cafés and theaters so you are never too far from fun and food Next Up, Management. Property Manager Kim is welcoming, courteous and does her best to accommodate your requirements. Paperwork was fast and simple with no hassle. The rest of the staff is also very good - Katie, TC and others are quite attentive, responsive and patient. Oh and did I mention Mike, the maintenance personnel who is just wonderful. He is not only is good at his craft but also has a beautiful attitude and a great personality. Moving on to Amenities. The complex was recently renovated and the units are very clean and airy. Apart from the regulars like a well equipped Gym and a large Pool area with BBQ stations around it, there are some great bonuses like a wonderful mini theater (you read that right) which can be booked fora movie night with your buds, Sweet. A Starbucks Coffee machine for you to grab that late night piping hot cuppa Joe without having to go out!!, A dog park to walk your pets and a secure package area to store all your deliveries that can be picked up anytime you like using a code texted right to you !! Security is handled really well with gated Parking Garage and security fobs for entry into the apartment. The community is great with very welcoming and pleasant residents who are happy to provide any assistance if needed. The only caveats I see are the mandatory Renters Insurance and the expensive rent but in my opinion it's well worth it considering how good the overall living experience is
I was moving to Louisville for a year for work, and needed a place that was absolutely turn-key, ready to go on day 1. Highlands Station definitely fit the bill. The application was painless and fast (and the deposit quite small), and everything has been first-rate since I moved in. I'd highly recommend for anyone in a similar situation.
I just moved into Highland Station and I’m loving it! TC and Katie were awesome and courteous to work with. I was moving from out of town and I wasn’t able to tour the apartment complex. So, instead they gave my a tour via FaceTime. I highly recommend a visit!
I moved to Louisville for work and had to sign a lease sight-unseen. The staff at Highland Station was remarkably helpful in facilitating the move. The facilities are remarkable and the apartments have excellent amenities. When I had a problem with my air conditioning the day I moved in, the maintenance staff was in my apartment to fix it within minutes. Close to downtown for work and the Bardstown Road area for restaurants and bars, this is a perfect spot for young professionals.
For me, this place has everything I could need. As someone that works from home the amenity I use the most is the free Starbucks machine. However, there are plenty of other amazing little extra perks here, including a movie theater with video library, a great little gym, and a pool that gets excellent sun. I don't have to worry about my packages getting taken since they're locked in a special, monitored resident only room and the dedicated parking keeps me dry during the rain and stops my car from getting frosty in the winter. All in all, so glad that I found the spot.
Highland Station was my first one and there was no need to explore beyond, did it out of curiosity Katie went the extra mile to meet the needs I was looking for, with trade offs as with anything; but she made sure I found what I was looking for at Highland Station. Kim, her manager is another bright star in the management team. Between the two of them, the have made sure everything has been delivered flawlessly as agreed. TC and Theresa complete the Management team, and all of them are superb. From the building you get everything as mentioned in other reviews. Gym a nice size for the building. Theatres-yes a theatre you can reserve with popcorn machine and all. Very nice seasonal pool. Common areas indoors in the lobby area and outdoors in green areas and grilling area. Common areas are perfect. Spacious, modern, clean, easy to reserve where applicable. I believe only the party room and theatre have reservation process. Location! Walking distance to restaurants, bars and cafes. Easy drive to downtown Louisville or east bound. Jogging areas nearby. Something I have realized as important things: 1. Ratio elevator:apartments and their speed. Here it is a no problem. Under 200 apartments and 3 elevators, fast enough. I timed it, trust me you don't wait at all. 2. Options in tub or shower in the bathroom. They have apartments with different configurations. I am a standing in shower preferred, and I got that. 3. Assigned or FCFServed parking. Note assigned is in fob gated garage, which might be preferred. 4. Security of the building is tight, all doors are fob activated and no piggyback method is advised. Which is good for all. Very competitive pricing and value. Not one of those buildings that has price and when you finish adders, you feel like you rented a NYC penthouse. The whole building is kept very clean. Even in fall with all the leaves, I have not seen anything that could be considered "unclean". And if seen, Management takes care of that ASAP. The community is a mix of young professionals and executives plus a few musicians. All respectful and friendly. Inside of apartments is amazingly quiet. They are full of natural sunlight. Balcony or no balcony doors open very wide. A nice dog park for nice play and socializing. In reality many areas to socialize. I am thrilled with my choice. Zero complaints. I HIGHLY recommend Highland Station.
We just signed our lease a couple of weeks ago and we couldn't be more pleased. Every single member of the staff has been outstanding - when we have questions or have issues, they take care of them immediately. The location and property is terrific. The residents have all been super - we highly recommend Highland Station.
I looked at all of the 'top' properties available downtown, Butchertown, Frankfort and Germantown as well as a few other not so 'topish' to get a sense of Louisville's market. I had a set of precise needs: High Ceilings, Modern Open Floor-Plan and a Clean, Safe, Quiet, Friendly building with secure Parking and as it turned out a spot near both downtown AND a great neighborhood with restaurants, coffee shops, eclectic local shops and green space! Highland Station fit the bill perfectly. The leasing office will move quickly from showing you around to signing a lease. This may feel like they are trying to close on an agreement faster than you may want, but if you know what you want - it will make your move here quick and easy. So, have a look around and see some other spots. It will make it easy to chose Highland Station.
