Nestled between Midtown and Druid Hills, Virginia Highland is a charming neighborhood teeming with historic bungalows, unique shops, trendy restaurants, and a vibrant nightlife. Virginia Highland gets its name—which is often shortened to VaHi and mispronounced as Virginia Highlands—from its location at the intersection of Virginia Avenue and Highland Avenue.
Virginia Highland residents enjoy a walkable design in addition to being part of a close-knit community. A bevy of annual events, like Virginia-Highland Summerfest and the Tour of Homes, bring the community together on a regular basis. Numerous metropolitan amenities are also convenient to VaHi, including Ponce City Market, Piedmont Park, Atlanta Botanical Garden, the Fox Theatre, Center for Puppetry Arts, High Museum of Art, and the Georgia Aquarium.

Property Ratings at Highland View Apartments
This apartment meets our needs and expectations. The 2 bedroom layout is spacious with high ceilings and a good layout. The community doesn't feature as many as amenities as others (no pool or dog park) but they make up for it with reliable service and great location (near piedmont park where there is both a pool and dog park).
I've only lived at Highland View for a month, but it's been great so far. We have a gate out to the Eastside Beltline trail that leads to Piedmont Park and Inman Park. It is wonderful for walking and biking. We've taken the Beltline to Farmer's Markets almost every weekend. Our apartment is nice with all new appliances, granite countertops, and hardwood floors. There is little noise, it seems like the walls are pretty sound-proof--so that's a plus! The management is friendly and answers most questions in a timely manner. We have had to make about 3 maintenance requests thus far; however, the staff responds the next day. We did have the maintenance staff set off our new alarm system, but the maintenance director is new, so I suppose he deserves a break. The gym is very small, but is clean and the equipment is barely used. It has one elliptical machine, one treadmill, free weights, and one pulley-type weight system. They offer free yoga and bootcamp each week. I haven't attended either, but maybe someday! I am satisfied with our move thus far and would recommend Highland View for those looking to live in-town.
We knew Highland View was going to be the first place we call "home" in Atlanta as soon as we saw the apartment. The is so many great aspects about this place... 1. It is centrally located, so travel time is as efficient as it can be in Atlanta. With just a few minutes driving, we can get to downtown, midtown, and all the eclectic neighborhood retail districts we love (L5P, O4W, EAV, VaHi etc). Plus, the Beltline and Pietmont Park are our backyard. Finally, it is awesome that nearly all of our shopping errands our simply stops on our walks around town. No more going out of our way for basics. Maybe I'm weird, but this has seriously improved my quality of life. 2. The helpful, friendly staff. The community manager and maintenance staff are very pleasant. They really seem to care about making our community great. 3. The kitchen is perfect for us. It's spacious with plenty of cabinets and counter space. The granite perfectly hides crumbs! The stainless steel appliances look nice, and most importantly, work consistently well. 4. Just spacious enough. Our two bedroom is nearly the perfect size for our small family. Our toddler has space to toddle yet her adventures are contained, making my life easier. 7. I'm in closet heaven. We moved from an old home with closet space most appropriate for elves, so this is a major bonus for us. 8. It's quieter than I expected. I thought there would be more noise from the street and neighbors. I have been pleasantly surprised how quiet it is. Ok, now for the not so good (there isn't much)... 1. Something about the ceiling/floors/stairs make my upstairs neighbors sound like ogres. It's been happening a lot less lately, but I have wondered if there is a gymnast practicing her floor routine living above me. 2. The AC is not even. Our bedroom is 5-10 degrees warmer than the rest of the apartment. This is annoying because we don't want our kid to freeze in her room in order for us to stay cool in our room. With that, some nights we wake up hot and annoyed. Overall, we are very happy here and would recommend Highland View to anyone looking to have a great quality of life in Atlanta.
