The "City of Seven Wonders" is in itself a wonder. It is home to the tallest mountain in Arizona, Lowell Observatory, the US Naval Observatory, the Arizona Snowbowl, the Meteor Crater, and historic Route 66. It is the gateway to Grand Canyon National Park and has a strong tourism industry. Flagstaff is surrounded by national forests and is ideal for those who enjoy hiking, camping, mountain climbing, skiing, and snowboarding. Woodlands Village is a fantastic Flagstaff neighborhood, located just south of downtown and adjacent to Northern Arizona University. It is bordered by I-40 and I-17 for fast commutes throughout the region, and the neighborhood features a large shopping district along Woodlands Village Road.
Woodlands Village is attractive and wooded, offering beautiful mountain views, the Flagstaff Urban Trail, and nearby parks. Downtown Flagstaff is just over a mile north, and Northern Arizona University is about a half a mile from Woodlands Village.

Property Ratings at Highland Village Apartments
I lived in Highland for three straight years as a college student and I highly recommend. It is a more affordable option compared to some of the more popular complexes in Flagstaff, and while the living accomodations are a bit older, the maintenance team ALWAYS responded very quickly and effectively. Any issue I had with older equipment was replaced and fixed for me within 24-48 hours. The maintenance staff really impressed me, esp with how I had heard many stories from peers living elsewhere that their maintenance would take up to a week or two to respond. The office team also does a great job creating and hosting a variety of events so I felt involved and appreciated as a tenant.

Thank you so much for choosing Highland Village during your time here in Flagstaff. We agree, we are a bit older BUT we have the best maintenance team around as well as the fact we truly care about our residents – so we’re glad you felt that way. Absolutely the best of luck in all of your future endeavors – we appreciate you!
I moved in about a year ago to go to the University. That said when I arrived, half of my roomates and I's kitchen (more like kitchenette) didn't work. My door is constantly slanted and the floor/ceiling, depending on the level your on, creaks in the bathroom, but thats to be expected in a older place. With all that said, it's a nice place for someone just starting out on their own and doesnt have a whole lot of money to throw around durring the first year or so going to NAU.

I moved in and the previous tenants left the place a disgusting mess. When I asked if maintenance would come and clean the apartment due to this mess these people left, I was informed that I would have to be the one to pay to have it cleaned. This was ridiculous because it was the same day that I had moved in, so the mess was very clearly not mine and they were not willing to work with me. The complex should have at least bothered to come in and made the apartment look good for a new tenant. They just don't seem to care once you've signed a lease. Would absolutely not reccomend living here.

The staff and maintenance here are both attentive and caring. They have parties where they give you free food and drinks. You have 24 hour maintenance for all your needs. And when it snows, or when the sun sets, it is beyond beautiful.

Thank you for your review. We appreciate hearing from our residents about how much they enjoy our staff and CARES events!
I went to NAU for 3 years and I recently graduated in May. I've lived at Highland Village Apartments during those 3 years and there isn't a better place that I would recommend in Flagstaff. One of the best properties in the area and the staff in the office were always very friendly and helpful. Always willing to listen to whatever issues I had and willing to solve them. Maintenance requests were always completed within 24 hours. South campus was a 15 min walk and the bus stop was right across from the complex. The rent prices were always reasonable and affordable. The apartment was also furnished so that's something else that I didn't have to worry about when moving in. If you are moving to Flagstaff this is definitely the place to live in. _ MJ

Pretty good apartment complex for the price, office people are pretty helpful. I'll have lived here for 3 years by the time I graduate & I enjoy the separate lease option.

Thank you for your review. I’m glad to hear you are enjoying your time with us.
I have been living here for a year and a half and have not had any major issues with the apartment itself other than one of my roommates accidentally flooding the entire downstairs. The kitchen definitely needs to be remodeled. My kitchen looks like it's falling apart. The floors have burn marks on it and the refrigerator is too small for 4 people. However, this is one of the lesser expensive apartments in the area and it is amazing that the complex automatically splits the bill for you so you never have to find your own roommates. The staff are friendly and always try to make us happy by giving us free food and other goodies. There is a pool table and a nice gym. I would recommend these apartments to the budget conscious student as It is close to university.

The staff in the office are so helpful and friendly, going out of their way to make it easy for me to do something I needed to do! I appreciated that it made my life easier and they have showed me in all of their interactions that we found the best place for our daughter to live this year.

These apartments are located within 5 minutes from everything, gas stations, grocery stores, restaurants, movie theater, box stores, and many strip malls. There are many green zones, areas with pine trees between the buildings with picnic benches, and all common areas are always perfect. The clubhouse was totally refurbished lately adding a weight room , pool table and a space for gatherings with wet bar and kitchen. With apartments from studios to three bedrooms there is one for any situation, there perfect.

Thank you for the review. We are glad that you are enjoying our upgraded amenities here at Highland Village, and we appreciate you letting others know about us!
I've lived in this apartment complex for a couple months now and have not had any major issues so far. Any simple maintenance issues have been addressed within an hour and management has been super friendly and helpful. My experience with apartments have not been the best so far and this place is definitely showing me different. The rooms are also very nice. Although the 4 bedrooms are not the ideal size, they are good for a few months of living (like me). I have seen the 2 bedrooms and those are a very decent size. The apartments are also fully furnished which is super nice being in a college town and always moving so not having to worry about moving furniture is always a plus. I definitely recommend this place for students or non students.
