With the rent increases that are NOT justifiable, I would NOT recommend it, as no other apartment group dose that to its current residents. As far as "living here"? i think its great.
I wish the management was more concerned with recycling. It is never mentioned. I had to ask about it. Most people do not recycle and I believe they would if it seemed important to you, but clearly it is not important to
The maintenance crew here at the Highlands could not be any better. Friendly,competant,and professional.
It's a comfortable place to live, for a reasonable price during your first year, but it appears as though a rapid increase in monthly rent should be anticipated from year-to-year.
I compared similar apartments and the rents on this properly are a bit higher then most considering what is offered.
The smell of cigarette smoke but mostly "weed" comes up into our apartment constantly - we are NON SMOKERS and between people smoking on their balcony or in their home it effects our home - Should consider having a NON SMOKING BUILDING(s)!
although our unit has more issues than I would have expected, maintenance is always quick to resolve the issue. All of the maintenance employees are pleasant and quick to resolve the issue
I just moved in and everyone has been so nice. Never met the service man but he took care of the small problem I was having.

Replacing a smoke alarm battery is a huge safety issue. It was completed in a timely manner.

Community is great, the only issue is related to the cost, since the market is hot at moment and Highlands is swimming the wave and raising the prices as well.
I'd recommend based on common property amenities and friendly staff only, not the high prices. To be frank, it's better just buying a house for the monthly rents we pay.

Management is ok with charging astronomical rental prices while not taking care of their residents. Been without a working appliance that is a FIRE HAZARD for over 6 weeks and have been continually lied to about when it will be replaced. You would think they would take this more seriously after having building 8 burn to the ground not too long ago. Even had a GE tech come look at it who said it was the cheapest appliance on the market. It takes over 6 weeks to get a $50 microwave replaced and management's best offer is giving me an over the counter one? How about you take one from one of the dozens of unoccupied apartments so your resident actually paying rent is taken care of. Oh, this is also after having lived with a microwave that was SUPER GLUED back together without my knowledge. It broke the first week I moved in and maintenance decided the best they could do was glue it back together. I only found this out a year later when it came crashing down on my oven, sending pieces of plastic flying into my food, dog's water bowl, boyfriend's eye, etc. I lived in this community from 2015-2017 and liked it so much I moved back in 2020. That was a mistake. This community has only gone down hill due to the people running it.

I would recommend this apartment community to anyone who was looking. The office staff and maintenance workers are great. The grounds are well kept and the location is very convenient.
The apartment quality is great, but being right next to highways can be a negative.
I recommend that people come live here all the time! I work at Trader Joe's and I come in contact with many people and let them know where I live all them time.

I love the service and apartment conditions at Highlands. Rents are on the high side, which unfortunately is challenging for many.
This was a great apartment for the price. Office staff and maintenance were great.
I would due to the apartment itself, the grounds and the amenities (when they’re available).
It seems like the rent keeps going up but the amenities are not the same. The hot tub was taken out, the parking is a struggle, reserved parking is being taken away and no updates have been made to our apartment. And the word is that if we do have any updates done the rent will go up. I am glad they put the speed bumps back in because people speed so bad in the parking lot all the time and are not kept accountable. The pool hours have been drastically cut back because of things like the staff doesn’t want work/monitor it after five or on Sundays. So those of us who work 9 to 5 To pay the rent can only use the pool on Saturday. The delivery of packages also seems to be very unorganized. sometimes they’re in the closet sometimes they’re in the lockers and sometimes they’re in the front hallway by building number.
we love it here and enjoy the community & would recommend it to anyone.

Due to the personnel present at Highlands I would recommend anyone to look into the apartments here. They go above and beyond to answer quickly and have a very welcoming atmosphere in the main office to help anyone with what Highlands offers.

without a garage, parking is problematic in my area. too many dogs (for a non-pet person... if pets were assigned to selected buildings it may be better for all. Location good for a commuter.
