Located only about seven miles from downtown, East Memphis provides an active, urban lifestyle with a little more green space and a cozier feel. East Memphis is home to the University of Memphis, a public research university with several research centers, including the FedEx Institute of Technology. Because of its proximity to downtown and the presence of the university, East Memphis is a thriving business hub. It is also a shopping destination for many Memphis residents, home to the Laurelwood Shopping Center, the Eastgate Shopping Center, and Oak Court Mall.
East Memphis is flanked by two large parks. Overton Park, on the northwest side, contains the Links at Overton Park golf course, the Brooks Museum, the Overton Park Limestone Running Trail, the Levitt Shell amphitheater, the Old Forest State Natural Area, and the Overton Park Bike Plaza. The Memphis Zoo sits just outside of Overton Park.

Property Ratings at Highpoint at the Greenline
Nasty.. Bad Management... Never Fix things. Bugs, Cars on Cinder Blocks.. Security is Nilch.... DONT STAY HERE.. Much better places nearby.. John....June 2021
DONT RENT HERE! Warning. Very ugly and trashy place to live.
I'm a long-term tenant (lived here for many years) and the last 2-3 has been terrible. In the past two years we've probably had around 20-25 property managers. No information is shared between any of them when a new one takes over. It is nearly impossible to get maintenance out to look at an issue, and when they do come out, they just look at the issue and do nothing for a month. The doors look like they were painted by a five-year-old. There are shutters missing on many of the buildings. The pool is disgusting and not maintained/cleaned. The roofs are consistently leaking. The gate is not secure and is propped open more than it is closed.
This has been a nightmare since the new owner took over, Grounds look terrible as they are unable to pay for lawn service, trash is all over the grounds, and management is a joke. There have been no less than 6 managers in the last 12 months. It doesn't help that the new owner is trying to falsely pump up his rent roll with month to month tenants without screening. My air conditioner has been out for a month with promises of " we will get someone down there in a few minutes" over and over again. Do yourself a favor unless you are one that could benefit from no screening and a month to month arrangement, go elsewhere. You can't say you weren't warned
We've been trying for 3 months to get our tub fixed, it suddenly started gushing hot water. We'd been emailing and calling, with the promise that work orders had been put in, but no one came. Our gas bill was sky-high because of the hot water. Finally my roommate went in and threw a fit and showed the property manager (who I'm positive I'd already had a conversation with) a video of the tub. She sent someone the same day to look at it. And he did come by and I truly believe he has an intention to fix it. The apartment's excuse is that they've had 3 property managers in 3 months. But what happened to those work orders!? The property manager doesn't personally carry them out, so? Also they lost our rent checks and our renewed lease. We called them and told them the checks were never deposited and we never received a copy of the lease, but we never heard back until the property manger called and asked us why we had missed a month of rent... We told them we're not signing a new one until our tub is fixed. On top of that the place has roaches - however they are much better than the used to be. Walls and floors are paper-thin. And we just got a notice that MLGW is turning off services because the apartments haven't paid them.
Management is awful, Code violations with parking, current manager has a deal with towing company and will have you towed for parking on the curb. Too bad too because new owner has put a lot of money in property, Current management will ruin it.
There is inadequate parking for almost half of the apartments. Parking along the curb is a problem for nobody but the manager who seems to have a deal with a towing company where she gets a cut of the action. Residents are getting towed almost every day. We had no trouble before she worked here. I heard if you're black you won't get towed. We're not going to renew our lease.
Roaches. No security. Loud. Dirty. Nothing ever gets fixed. Small laundry room.
