Located in southern central Mississippi, the city of Brandon takes up about 21 square miles and has a population of nearly 16,500 people. Furthermore, the city is widely-known for its theater productions, making it a popular destination for those who want to catch a live show or play.
Overall, Brandon is a great place to live whether you are an individual or have a family; its relatively low crime rates, diverse culture, and booming economy make this an in-demand place to live as well. As such, finding rental properties is not always easy. It is best to start looking sooner rather than later if you do not want to end up on a long wait list.

If I could give a negative review of this place I would. I have been a resident for 2 years. Highpointe charges a high price but does not maintain the apartments. The management is rude and arrogant. If you have a maintenance request, do not hold your breath because it will not get repaired. They unethically mischarge for utilities. They mischarged me for an entire year for water/sewer. Instead of fixing the meter, they just capped off and charged what they wanted. They are currently mischarging everyone for water/sewer. When you ask why, they arrogantly tell you to call the billing company. The billing company says the bill what apartment reports. This is going on with many tenants. If you dont want to get stuck in a lease with rude, arrogant management that mischarges for utilities and never repairs anything, stay away.

They do not receive the bills from us but we are happy to assist with the process to check for leaks and/or meter reading issues. No toilet paper or paper towels in bathrooms at pools, Internet cafe has no coffee, pool bathrooms are disgusting, both pools have been dirty and green and/or all the time lately, maintenance doesn’t fix anything (they make it work for a little bit but problems return), office staff has become rude and doesn’t care about complaints or inconveniences of lack of advertised amenities, no playground. The website should be updated with actual amenities and pools condition. Hate we moved here now. Think before moving in. Just tour the place and you will see for yourself.

Highpointe is a very nice place to live. I lived there for 2 years and upon my initial move-in, in 2019, they had some office staff changes. These changes were for the best. Mario the manager, and Lisa at the front of the office are some remarkably easy people to work with. They will be sure that any issues you have are tended to promptly. The maintenance is also really prompt and thorough. Austin, as a more recent addition to the head of this property's maintenance team, will go above and beyond to see that your issues are promptly and accurately handled. Keith was another maintenance worker that I often saw who shared the same attributes. All of the maintenance team is very friendly and speaks to you as you pass by them. The pool amenities are nice but are often filled with the same group of tenants, so if you would like to have weekends at the poolside you would need to arrive quite early. The fitness center has nice equipment and there is a small playground for the kids to play at. The majority of the residents I have seen are upper 20-year-olds, young families, and some older adults. If I were to mention any complaints it would be that the USPS does not utilize the package lockers that other carriers use on the property. Instead, they place a slip into your mailbox and you have to physically present the slip at the post office. The garbage system could use an overhaul, as there are only two (albeit large) dumpsters. They fill rather quickly over the weekend so I just learned to take my garbage prior to the weekend or on Monday evening. Otherwise, if you are looking at a quiet, nice apartment with nice amenities, is close to grocery stores, a short drive to Flowood, and quick access to the interstate then this would be a strong place to consider.

They have trash compactors instead of normal dumpsters. This means that by Friday at 5pm, both dumpsters are "full" because there is nobody to run the contractors. They stay full all weekend. On top of that, these overflowing dumpsters are the first thing you see when you drive in. Disgusting! Either add more dumpsters or have someone operate these on weekends!
My husband and I moved here without knowing much about the property or the area in general l. I know, I should have done more homework and research before moving in but it was a last minute move and (not surprisingly) they had openings. The main issue was the cockroaches. We saw that they were coming in through the creases in the back door and there were a bunch of them. We reported them several times and we always got the same response... "we spray on Tuesdays." The response makes me think that it's a normal occurrence because they never apologized or sounded surprised. So there's that. So that issue kind of ties into another one, you could call the office with a complaint and it seemed to go ignored. For example I called every time it rained because our bathroom constantly flooded and ruined several rugs, and that issue never got fixed. The dryer tube's coming from the wall or so clogged that my dryer didn't work. I thought it was a dryer issue but when I moved to the new apartment a few months ago the dryer was working fine. The final reason I would never recommend Highpointe to anyone was that the walls and floors were so thin that you hear everything your neighbors do. That goes for hearing them walk around and you can even hear them talk through the thin walls. Do your homework, if you still want to move to Highpointe you can't say you weren't warned.

I moved to Brandon, MS from Kentucky in March of 2016 and will be here until my lease ends in September. It started off okay but quickly went down hill. On the positive side, the maintenance team is nice and they are relaxed on the pet policy. We have 2 dogs and haven't had any problems there, although some people don't clean up after their dogs but that's everywhere I suppose. On the negative side, welll, I'll start with the noise. I live in the bottom floor and you literally hear EVERY SINGLE STEP, the people upstairs take. It is super annoying. Next problem, the cockroaches. This is so gross to admit but I've gotten used to living with cockroaches. I know, gross. But I got tired of calling the management and getting the run around about them saying they sprayed and the problem never stopping. I've talked to neighbors who have the cockroach problem too. I'm almost done with my lease so I just put up with it until I move(counting down the days!). Lastly, and this sort of ties into the last problem, if you call maintenance with an issue, they give you the run around and it can take a long time to get fixed. All in all, it's been an awful experience for my wife and I. It's not like Highpointe is cheap either, you can find better options for much cheaper in the area. I'd look elsewhere!

I absolutely do not agree with the bad review. I'm not sure how long ago that review was written, but it is not the case now I have lived at Highpointe Apartments for Almost two years. The office ladies are very polite and always answer or find answers for my questions!! The only charge I have had was a $25 rent raise at my second lease signing which was fine with me. Apartments have been renovated and are more like a condo feel. I moved in with all new stainless appliances. And I can't say enough about maintanience. Great guys!!
I've resided at many apartments in my life and this is far most the best apartments I've ever lived. They're esteemed office and grounds crew are the best. I have never had a problem that wasn't fixed in a proper time and manner. I highly recommend this company and it's complexes. Highpointe of Brandon is a great place to live. Come see them!!!!
I would not recommend this place to anyone. The major problem is the people in the office including the supervisor and "professional" leading consultants. They never have a clear answer or know what they are talking about. They will charge you for anything and everything under the sun! Then they don't tell you what they are charging you for. They provide the wrong amounts and say they apologize for any miscommunication. However, the apartments are nice and the community is great. I sill can't get past the people running it. I wish everyone who lives there the best of luck.
