Legendary Americans from Frederick Douglass to Woodrow Wilson have called Dupont Circle home at various points over the past two centuries, and it continues to be a highly desirable place to live. The historic architecture of the neighborhood (particularly in the Victorian-era rowhouses) contributes to a distinctly European flair in much of Dupont Circle. This, combined with the presence of numerous foreign embassies and countless international restaurants, creates an unparalleled cosmopolitan atmosphere.
The dining scene also includes a vast selection of more traditional eateries, low-key coffee shops, and convenient grocery stores, giving most folks the option to pick up a quick bite to eat or a week’s worth of necessities with ease. For off hours, museums and galleries are close at hand, and the eclectic nightlife offerings span from alternative rock venues to glitzy clubs to high-end cocktail bars.

Property Ratings at Hightowers Apartments
I moved out. The place is completely infested with mice. I would go to sleep at night to the sound of hundreds of mice moving around in the walls. The management does nothing except rations 3 of those horribly cruel glue traps to each tenant. When I opened the trash chute, a huge spray of cockroaches came flying out. Easily the worst upkeep and worst management I've ever seen. I think they neglect the building so much because they want people to move out -- they can legally raise the rent with each new tenant. When I left, there were moving trucks lined up outside for all the tenants fleeing.
Great location, friendly front desk staff, spacious rooms, great fitness room, nice quiet rooftop patio. Highly recommended!
So i was very stressed picking a place online. I have walked past every apartment i was considering and it makes me so proud that i chose HT. 1) it’s on a perfect street with all the churches and houses and i feel safe 2) age of tenants is mid 20s to late 20s. they only have 1BR, 1BA and studios and the layouts are perfect for 1 person. i imagine this isn’t a place for couples 3) the floors the closets the views the everything feels so quintessentially dupont circle and quaint i’m always smiling
I spent 4 years at Hightowers, living in Unit 403. Besides the fact that this building is ideally located, close to both the Dupont area, the downtown, and the 14 and U nightlife area, which allows to access almost all of DC's living places by walk, the units' quality is really good, as well as the amenities (excellent laundry room, fair gym). But mostly, in a building where almost all tenants are young and active professionals, the atmosphere is friendly and helpful. This is mainly and most surely the case because of a fantastic staff and doorpersons team, who will always greet you with a smile, a helping hand, and a warm conversation! I will definitely remember and miss those years spent there; I hope you new people moving there will feel the same! JB
