Tucked away between Wyndmoor and Wissahickon Valley Park, Chestnut Hill’s upscale community and proximity to local and private schools are appealing for families. Its history is pretty neat – the area was a popular summer destination during the American Revolutionary War era because of its higher elevation and cooler weather.
Along Germantown Avenue – the neighborhood’s business district – is where you’ll discover spas, accessory stores, artisan shops, and bakeries. It’s a charming little section of town, enhanced by cobblestone streets, Colonial-style storefronts, and lush gardens. Locals enjoy a pint and meal at Campbell’s Place, followed by a scoop of their favorite flavor at Bredenbeck’s Ice Cream Parlor.
There’s plenty of green space surrounding Chestnut Hill – go for a hike on the twisting trails at Wissahickon Valley Park or see the historic landmarks at Morris Arboretum.

Property Ratings at Hill House at Chestnut Hill
For many the old, small bathrooms would be a dealbreaker. For others, the amenities would be persuasive.
The staff here are so good and do their best to make Hill House a great place to live.

Thank you for posting a review. We appreciate your note! Our team works hard on a daily basis to keep Hill House a desirable community.
I love the community, management, and maintenance. Cost of apartment and utilities are becoming rather difficult.
It is a great place to live! All needs are addressed in a timely fashion. Management is excellent. Great location . I have highly recommended the Hill House to others.
This community is a kind one and this place is a good place to live. Those in charge here do care and I am grateful.
Very friendly living environment, comfortable living quarters, nice amenities, especially outdoor patio area.
The people who live here are lovely, the office person is superb, and the apartment itself is spacious. On the other hand, we have less office support and the common areas are no longer in tip-top shape, yet we pay more each year for our rent. In other words, we pay more and get less every year.
I feel safe and comfortable living in my apartment and throughout the comunity.
The staff and management are fantastic they really take the time and expertise to make you feel that this is your home to enjoy and be apart of
the building is a very attractive apartment building for this city and the amenities appear to be outstanding.
Well maintained building and the great people that works in the building to keep things running smooth.
The apartment is roomy, comfortable, well designed. Access in and out is easy. Staff are competent, resposive and friendly. Setting and convenience to main street are excellent. Above all, fellow apartment dwellers make the experience of living in Hill Housefeel very much like a nighborhood,. Am pleased to be here.
Convenience and community are key words for our experience. You are convenient to every possible need and the facility and Manager do their best to foster that sense of community.

Thank you for the positive review! We are happy to see that you feel a sense of community at Hill House!
I had spent the better part of the last year looking for a house or condo in Chestnut Hill/Mt Airy. The market is so limited at this time and selection is so poor that I decided to rent for a while.having not been a renter for over 20 years, a was a little apprehensive. All that faded when I arrived at Hill House and met Francesca Devin, community director. She was at once warm , friendly and was totally able to address my needs and offer the best advice. The more I got to know her, the more I trusted her and knew that I was in the best of hands. She came up with the best suggestions and worked out all details to my advantage. Thanks to her, I am sure that Hill House will be the right choice for my next home. I truly believe that if not for Francesca, I would not be wanting to make this move. She is the consummate professional !!

Thanks for your review! Hill House is located only a short walk from many great things, as you mentioned, with the ability to be in Center City in 20-25 minutes, if you choose.
People from the leasing office are very friendly and helpful. The manager, Francesca, is the best. She is very understanding, caring and dedicated to the job.

Thank you so much for your kind words! We try to make your life at Hill House as pleasant and carefree as possible!
It is pleasant to have quick and easily accessible maintenance service!
The rent is expensive but the community is great and the area is wonderful. The noise between the walls that a neighbor of mine can hear from my room when I am not intentionally being loud have gotten out of hand, although.
WE FIND THE APARTMENT TO BE BE WELL SERVED BY MANAGEMENT AND WILL RECOMMEND HILL HOUSE TO OTHERS
They really do try to address needs promptly and were pleasant and accommodating- approachable and engaging-
The entry lobby is generally occupied with seated elderly, justifying the view that the Hill House is a retirement center.
I would recommend it because the front office staff, specifically Francesca is absolutely amazing.
The management, the maintenance department, the front desk and housekeeping department are all the best I e ever experienced in apartment living.
I would recommend Hill House. People in charge do care about our well being.
I find the staff, all staff - reception, office, maintenance, custodial - extremely efficient, cheerful, professional. In particular, Jose does a great job of keeping trash rooms clean and neat and common areas clean and comfortable.
i do love living here but it is becoming too expensive for me, and i imagine i will have to leave in a few years, or downsize to a studio. for that reason alone i would be hesitant to recommend living here to anyone whi is not completely financially comfortable.
I would recommend this apartment building because of its proximity to the shops in Chestnut Hill, the hospital, the library and lots of public transportation.
Office personnel so very kind and helpful Maintenance people helpful and good Front desk staff are so good too. Wonderful, positive energy from people living here
The building is safe, well-run, with attentive staff and in a great location. The underground parking is also a huge plus for me.
Love the neighborhood. Love the staff. Love the comfort of my apartment, the gym, the library and the pool. Other tenants are smart, educated and well traveled. They reflect my interests.
It is very convenient with the train within walking distance as well as the Chestnut Hill amenities We already have recommended to friends who have moved in
Rents are going up much faster than inflation or other costs.
Hill House is socially comfortable. A variety of people resde here — of different backgrounds, ooutlooks and ages. One can find people to chat with or make friends with quite easily. In this sense Hill House becomes neighborhood-like. One can also be private, if one wishes.
Chestnut Hill is a great place to live. Hill House is very convenient to shops. I love it. The building is well maintained. My apartment is very comfortable.
Frankly, there are not any other choices with the amenities the Hill House provides in Chestnut Hill and I think all and all, it is a great place to live.
i feel very safe here, and the location is wonderful in terms of public transportation, shopping, restaurants, and green spaces. i only wish the rent wasn't quite so high and didn't jump up so much at each lease renewal. i'm afraid i will be priced out of here before too long! also i wish we had a more organized recycling program; it is so important and most tenants here don't seem to understand or care how it works.
In house services; very responsive staff for maintenance, info, and amenities. great access to public transportation, and neighborhood conveniences.
It depends mostly on friends & family preferences. Apartment living is not for everyone.
It is very nice place to live in this apartment community where their are so mine nice people here to get to know Beth.
I am content here - and the community of tenants and all staff are a plus. The location is interesting and convenient.
Although it is a nice place to live and the people are nice, rents and rent increases make it less attractive
While the rents here are on the higher end of the spectrum I believe the residents get great value for the money. I would recommend Hill House to my friends and colleagues without reservation. The fact that the building is within comfortable walking distance to Germantown Ave and the Chestnut Hill West (and East) lines is also a great plus. Safe neighborhood, safe building.
I recommend it with the caveat that rental increases need to be considered.
It is a convenient place to live and I have recommended the Hill House to many.

We appreciate your five star review and the referrals!
The community here is compatible. There are tenants of all ages, which I appreciate. The pool is free to tenants. The area near the pool is a lovely placed to sit - it has picnic tables, for instance,

Thank for the positive review! The patio is one of my favorite areas of the property!
I am very pleased with personnel , residents, security, ambience, out side facilities., garage parking, That is the “luxury” part of Hill House. However, the apartments themselves are typical Old ones, except maybe for having washer/dryer.

We are happy to see that you are pleased with many aspects of Hill House. If there is anything in your apartment you'd like us to address, please let us know.
I think you could take all the positives we have stated about and that would be a good list.
But I would probably tell them to opt for an apartment in the front of the building, especially if noise is an important issue for them.
