Property Ratings at Hillcrest Estates
They refused to fix the mold condition in my apartment, took me to court, lied about the mold being fixed, continued to go sick, and then I was evicted. This property is in deplorable shape and the management is awful. If you fight the complex for mold, AC going out, or ANYTHING, you end up getting evicted. Just save some time and money and don't go here.
The WORST apartment ever! Do not live here. Maintenance fixes absolutely NOTHING. My heat was out the entire winter. Horrible neighborhood. Neighbors are rude and loud. On moving day I found broken glass and nails in the carpet. I could go on and on. To make a long story short. DONT WAIST YOUR TIME MOVING HERE!!!!! -1,000,000/10
If I could rate this place a -1 I would. My biggest complaint is maintenance request that go untouched for weeks. If you try to get help with your issue by contacting the office you get someone who is unprofessional and unwilling to help. All they want is your rent. The apartments are outdated. The appliances are outdated.
Started the experience with broken glass in the carpet for my three year old to play with, the entire studio smelled of cigarettes so much that I had to wipe down every single wall and the smell would not leave. Brown recluses are a daily occurrence, walls are extremely thin which was great since they put us in an apartment next to a unit that was being worked on, and on the other side was a loud obnoxious family that would yell at their kid when he would ask for anything. They will tow your vehicle for really anything, no Restaurant in the area will deliver to this Apartment complex. Police are here often, usually invited by management to harass (sit and watch) their residents. They leave a police paddy wagon van in the parking lot for good measure. Somehow break-ins to cars are a common occurence even with the police here. Loud parties every day of the week at 3-4 apartments that I could see from my front door. Don’t bother leasing here unless you have no other options.
Oh my, where do I begin. When I need them to come fix something it takes them weeks to come fix it. I have to go down to the office and personally get them myself. Random charges on your rent bill. HORRIBLE STAFF. DONT LISTEN TO ANYTHING YOU ASK. Cannot wait until my lease is up. Anybody who wants to rent here or even thinking about renting here, DONT!!!!!! Run while you can. The staff is Very nice at first until your ready to move in. Even on my move in day and girl came to unlock my apartment and she was acting like I was interrupting her day, when I had an appointment TO MOVE IN. My laundry room has had a funk to it since day 1. Please do yourself a favor a DONT move here.
Rude/sarcastic management when you have ANY issue! Cars broken into multiple times, management doesn’t care. Seen a deceased body over here. Packages always stolen. Never come to fix anything. Mold, water damage on ceilings. Putting unknown charges on account and they just simply don’t care for their tenants. Even if you’re a good tenant who pays on time all the time. They only care that you give them the rent you owe them every month. It sucks to live here. I can’t wait for my lease to end!!!!!
Living here has been an absolute hell. For one the office workers are absolutely rude...unprofessional and careless. They hound you for rent but cant take care of broken things in the apartment. Little holes in the crevices where mice enter in from in the walls...so disgusting...not from me its kept clean. The kicker that absolutely took the cake...I got locked out my apartment day before Thanksgiving with my 1 and 5 year old...call emergency line to get help getting in....they tell me they cant help with lock outs after office hours...Im stranded with my boys they tell me with no empathy or care..its policy there is nothing they can do. Do yourself a favor and DONT RENT HERE EVER!
This property has the most nicest office staff until you move in. Once you move in they are very rude and do not take care of the work the needs to be done on the inside of the apartments.
Where do I begin.... poor management, poor quality, trashy place. They now make you pay your rent on line and then charge a service fee!!!!!! My heat has been out and rather than fix it they brought me a space heater. Run as fast as you can from this place....
Where do I begin? My AC was out for a month in June, with no communication from mgmt on the hold up. I actually received attitude for inquiring. Then my ceiling started leaking every time it rained, that lasted about 7 months. The crazy thing is when I put in a request to get it fixed management continued to mark it complete when in fact my ceiling was still leaking. Brown recluse infestation, I’d find HUGE ones in my bathtub every morning. I think I killed 10+ in a week. Oh and I can’t forget the bats. I came home to find a bat had entered my apartment. I called the ‘emergency’ maintenance line and left a number of messages to which they, to this day, have never followed up on. Numerous other neighbors have also complained about bats in their apartments in the online forum. My washer has been down for 3 weeks now after flooding mine and my neighbors apt I’d put money on it that it will not be fixed before I leave. The maintenance guy asked me to add him on Facebook while making a repair (creepy). The grass is a dog poop mine field. I can’t get out fast enough.
I have my rent directly withdrawn from my account. The only notice they provided notifying residents that system was down was a piece of paper. Then tried to charge me extra and a late fee for not knowing (the paper never got to me). Currently my air has been malfunctioning since yesterday around 5pm and I have heard nothing. It’s way too hot and my rent is way too much
Talked to 3 different people, got different answers from each. Submitted my application, with the application fee as I was told (and exactly what it says online), which they claimed to never have received. I had proof it was deducted from my bank account. I was also (by a different person) that the Admin Fee needed to be paid before they could process the application, but guaranteed while they sorted out the missing payment, the apartment I had selected would be held. I had to call the 3rd party payment processor to figure out where my payment went, the complex did nothing. When I finally figured it out and called to confirm that they had what they needed, I found out they had already rented out the unit I had been promised. Also, every contact I had with them I had to initiate. They do not return voice mails, call back when they say they will, nor do they reply to email. Oh and the price of the application and admin fee kept changing and I was told 3 different prices for the unit - not because I called on different dates, I was told they would honor the price the day I submitted the application they screwed up - yet each person I talked to gave me a different price. I definitely dodged a bullet by finding out how disorganized they are and am SO glad I didn't end up moving in and saved myself the headache.
The staff was very disrespectful, my unit is out dated bur I am required to pay updated rent. I have appliances that are over 10 years old and falling apart, they reduse replace them unless they stop working. They give you one price and then later tell you something different. Management is always changing and one group is worst than the next. They base your rent off your pay, but steady increase it everytime you renew your lease, even if they say the won't they do it anyway. I regret ever moving in this place.
This place is terrible. I checked it out and couldn't get straight answers from them. Front office seems very untrustworthy and unreliable. The lady I talked to was hungover the entire tour. Look at your own risk.
From Day 1, the staff at Stonehaven South has gone above and beyond to make sure that my husband and I are comfortable. We moved into the complex as a military PCS, and Patricia could not have been more accommodating. After our move-in, we had two maintenance requests, which were taken care of same day. I continue to be impressed at how much the Stonehaven staff cares about our community, from picking up trash on the grounds daily, to providing awesome amenities including a laundry room, workout facility, and dog park. I enjoy stopping in the office to chat with Patricia, and the Stonehaven staff feels like family. I've recommended Stonehaven to multiple friends, and one has already moved in and is just as happy as I am! Stonehaven has built a great community and I am proud to be a resident.
We rent a two story, two bedroom townhouse for around 750 a month, which is very fair for its location. We are about 15 minutes from the plaza and 20 from downtown. I would recommend this as a place to live in the KC area.
Very welcoming, the staff was amazing, caring and friendly. They answered all my questions and showed me around the place. They were just great gals!
