The city of Alvin is a suburban community located about thirty miles south of Downtown Houston and thirty miles northwest of Galveston. The unique central location allows residents to easily access to nearby urban amenities as well as the beaches of the Gulf of Mexico, each just a few minutes’ drive away. Alvin holds a distinct place in baseball history as the longtime home of legendary pitcher Nolan Ryan, and a local museum is dedicated to the Hall of Famer.
Primarily a residential suburb, Alvin’s shopping and dining options are spread out across the community, with locally-owned favorites like Caboose BBQ and Alvin Seafood and Grill within walking distance for many. Alvin Community College on the south side serves around 5,000 students, and employs many locals as faculty and staff members.

Property Ratings at Hillcrest Village
I moved here excited being independent on my own UNTIL I actually moved in. FIRST OFF the leasing office lied saying they keep these units top tier and they stay on top of things . THATS A LIE !! Since Ive been here I’ve had an experience with bed bugs , CONSTANT roaches of all sizes, gnats GALORE non stop, baby lizards that get in your house , WASPS nest outside the doors bad , you can hear rats/mice in your kitchen cabinets & walls at night & even found my trash bag with holes bitten at the bottom . My bread ON TOP THE FRIDGE ate through . It’s like freaking animal planet in here . Which is crazy for me since I keep a clean house hold . Plus I’m ocd I have to live clean and this place just has too many issues. Called the leasing office to report it and asked for extermination which does help since the maintenance only sprays spots of the kitchen then leave . The extermination doesn’t even kill the bugs . I was told I have to get rid of the gnats and rats myself . The kitchen needs to be remodeled , the bathroom needs to be remodeled , the front door needs to be replaced and UPDATED . THEN they have the audacity to increase rent . This place is HORRIBLE and DISGUSTING to live in .Can’t wait for my lease to be up and I can move somewhere CLEANER and BETTER QUALITY !!

This apartment is affordable! I feel safe and I have no major complaints. I have a 1 bedroom and I've been here over a year. Anytime I've had issues maintenance has solved or quickly. I love the office staff really friendly!
I've lived here for about 4 years and still have problems in my apartment since day 1. Where I do I start... All of my kitchen drawers fall off the tracks and throws everything in the cabinet or floor. My dishwasher is not connected to the counter so it falls out of the wall from time to time, pouring water all over my floors. My a/c doesn't work, it is always on and my light bill ranges from $100-$200. Good luck trying to get maintenance to fix anything, once they get up there they tell you everything is fine and leave without fixing anything. My sinks have all been painted, and the paint keeps chipping away and leaves a mess. They repainted the outside of my balcony only on one side. Its always a battle to do laundry, there are maybe 3 working washers and dryers among the entire apartment complex. Although the residents are friendly, this place is a horrible place to live and I am currently looking for a new apartment ASAP
It's a great place to live for the most part. Managers and maintenance are extremely friendly. If there's something broken, maintenance fixes immediately. Never had a problem with getting what needed or fixing a problem. However, there's constant construction are the weirdest things with no notice. For instance, they pulled up a sidewalk that was perfectly fine. The construction led to the parking lot where it left dirt and little damage on cars near. There was no notice so no one knew to move. Trying to upgrade to a bigger apartment has been a joke as well! Was told we would have the place then told four different times each time being later than the last. They do not take into consideration what you need/want they take their sweet time and pick and chose who gets what place. Being a young adult, they usually overlooked me and didn't listen. Had to bring in older people to help get point across. It's great for the most part. But hope you get the place you want or you'll be battling chaos.
the rent is the cheapest in Alvin I could find. the laundry rooms are terrible. the pools are gross. they put alot of effort into making the outsides of the apartments look nice, but the insides are in desperate need of remodeling. bad paint jobs. the cabinets and counters are cracked and dilapidated. the ceiling in my apartment is noticeably sagging. must've been some serious water damage. bad foundation cracks in corners and around windows. getting outa here as soon as possible.
