Property Ratings at Hillcrest Village Apartment Homes
Overpriced out of date apartments, ours was a 3 bedroom 1 bath that was allegedly newly renovated. All they did was the same basic crap that you do when re-renting any place. They painted some areas, cleaned up and that was mostly it. The apartment they showed had new cabinets, new appliances ect. This one had nothing new except the fridge The sliding doors had paint all over the glass, the closets were missing the shelving and bars for hanging things, clogged drains, no lighting except the hallway, dining room, and bathroom but even those didn't all work. A 50's doorbell that didn't work and the peep hole was painted over. So much more

Hi there, Anonymous User, and thank you for taking the time to give us some feedback. We are saddened to hear that you feel you were mislead and unhappy. We strive to ensure that we are clear and provide all the information on our community, amenities, and any home that someone is interested in. We do make sure that if you are seeing an apartment home that is not the same as you apply to (likely due to it being occupied or not ready to view), the differences in the homes amenities are pointed out and brought to the attention of prospects to ensure there are no surprises on move in day. We would not be able to add any additional electrical, however, each bedroom, and the living room has a light switch that powers one of the nearby outlets. If you are still a current resident with us, please reach out to our office so we can take action on your complaints! We are more than happy to help.
They charge you monthly for EVERYTHING on top of your rent!!! Cable-You have to pay them $50 Water, Garbage, Sewer - You pay them $50 All the new amenities they put in that no one uses - You pay them $70 (Pool hasn't been open in 2 yrs.) There are no washers and driers in the apartments ( total lie)
Horrible experience in Life time with a baby and toddler in hand that too in winter we faced sudden soaking of water into 2 of the bedrooms and dining area (Except Hall way to stay everything became messy jus with in couple of Hours) **No proper response from the maintainace office, Day1 a single worker came in and jus sucked out 100s of Gallons of water from carpets with out any Dryers/ fans being given *So by end of Day2 the entire Home started foul smelling and finally have to stay OUT of Home for few dys **And ended up being vacating Home due to Unlivable Conditions. ***No proper snow clean ups,No cleaniess all around Laundry. It’s totally not worth of your Money.

Please contact the Property Manager at (518) 372-9684 so we can further discuss these concerns. Thanks.
They will try to lure you in with cheap specials they run on CL, but when it's time to renew they will raise your rent 3-5%, without even giving you any notice. Also like people have said in other comments the management staff is very rude and does not care about anything you say. They have a lot of empty apartments now because they started letting anyone rent as long as they come up with the cost of moving in. They stay for 4 months then turn into midnight movers.

We're sorry to hear that we're not meeting your expectations. Please contact the Property Manager at (518) 372-9684 to discuss and resolve your concerns.
The apartments themselves are decent. Amenities are nice but you certainly pay to have them. If something goes wrong maintenance will promptly address and bandage the issue. Actual fixes don't usually happen. If you try to communicate with the office staff, don't expect any help. They will not work with you and will make everything a nightmare. They will take every time they can from you. Make sure absolutely EVERYTHING is documented if you do move in. I've never been so unhappy with a living situation.
The management and service provided are incredibly unprofessional!
I would not recommend living at Hillcrest Village to anyone I know, not even my worst enemy. The ladies in the management office are rude and do not care about the tenants of the property. Their communication systems such as sliding folded pieces of paper under their tenants door is completely unprofessional and is not an effective way to communicate and guarantee the tenant is receiving the message. Every time we have called to bring matters to their attention, they are rude, cruel, unhelpful and don't care what you have to say. In addition, some of their bottom units flood. We questioned management about the issue when we first moved in and were told it wasn't a problem and later on ended up with 3inches of water on our floor at 3am. Overall, they provide horrible service.
I Traveled here for work to help the community and I can honestly say, I will never return! I have been treated like I don't matter and that the neighbors I have who have constant barking dogs, lead feet upstairs and slamming doors between midnight and 4am are more important than I am. The walls and floors are too thin and u can hear conversations, fights, yelling and can feel the floors bounce from anyone who walks in the adjacent apartments. Office staff makes excuses and doesn't take me serious with any complaint bc I will be leaving soon. If you have an issue on the weekend the answering service instructs you too call the sheriff's office bc office staff is not available, even though they live on site. Told this was a very quiet, no trouble community and I have yet been able to sleep 6 hours straight without getting woken up by someone or some problem. I have lived and been in many apartment communities and this is by far the worst one I have ever been in! Spend a night or two before signing your contract, if they will even let you and you will see for yourself!
Very family oriented, nice pool, plenty of parking space and 24/7 maintence service. Fun and friendly atmosphere. Ideal for families with little children. Also great school district.
The grounds are littered with garbage. The carpet was not new when I moved in and the kitchen was filthy! Maintenance is fair. Snow removal was extremely lacking in many areas of the complex.
I live in the second floor and it's so hard for me to sleep at night. I can hear the guy on the first floor snoring, and during daytime, i can hear their families' conversations and arguments. Meanwhile, I am awakened by my neighbors' footsteps who's living upstairs. Therefore, my unit is not peaceful at all not unless your neighbors are not at home!!
The managers are not customer friendly. The maintenance is not good. The turn around time depends upon your luck. The staff is not at all good.
