Finding an apartment for rent in Hilliard, Ohio is one of those things you can look forward to. A quaint town, with just over 30,000 people calling it home, it is the ideal place to raise a family, go to school, or just spend time relaxing. It is the largest suburb of Columbus, Ohio, the state's capital city. And, with that proximity (and ease of drive into the heart of Columbus) Hilliard is one of the best places to call home. Finding an apartment here is rather easy to do, and you'll have your pick of a variety of styles, ages, and communities. Yet, Hilliard has much more to offer than just a residential area. It's popular with just about all age groups and is rather affordable compared to living in the heart of Columbus.
What's interesting about this city is its passion for sports. You can look to Columbus, Cincinnati, or even Cleveland to the north for the professional football, baseball, and basketball teams, though. Here, in Hilliard, it is all about the local sports teams.

Property Ratings at Hilliard Square
Ac units are very inefficient. Will only cool to 75° during the summer and that’s just for the upstairs. Ac unit has little to no effect on cooling the downstairs and windows units aren’t allowed. Management refuses to help in any way when asked multiple times for other ways to make the ac more efficient. Apartments themselves are pretty nice and in a great neighborhood but unless you want to live in the sweltering heat for 3 months out of the year and pay high electric bills, I would think twice.
Property Manager at Hilliard Square, Responded To This Review
Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback.
My husband and I were lucky enough to get a unit at Hilliard Square and all I can say is WOW! This place has exceeded our expectations time and time again from the minute we put our application in. The property manager, Michelle, has been absolutely amazing every step of the way and was such a pleasure to meet in person. You will absolutely not beat the price for what you get here - new hardwood flooring, new name-brand appliances in the unit, an assigned parking spot with a garage, friendly neighbors, well-maintained grounds, and, most importantly to us, a QUIET neighborhood. If you are lucky enough to see an opening for a unit here, you will not regret applying to become part of this complex! We even had this mug waiting for us upon our arrival to our new place with a nice handwritten note from Michelle - such a nice touch! After a long stretch of bad landlords, we finally feel like we are home and we could not be happier.

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. Welcome to our community!
Loved these apartments and how quiet the area was. Spiders were a pain until we found the right spray (but our apartment had also been vacant for 6 months before we moved in). Very quiet neighborhood and we were lucky enough to live at the back and look onto the pine trees! Michelle is absolutely the best manager Hilliard Square has ever had (and we had a lot of managers). Especially for the price, highly recommend!

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed your time with our community.
Out of all the communities that I have visited, I chose Hilliard Square because it is small and tucked away. Overall, my experience is very positive. I feel safe all hours of the day and night and know that I can take pride in the area I live. Many thanks to Angela and Andrew for great customer service! Good Property management makes all the difference in a stay. I will continue to suggest that for the amount of money you would pay elsewhere in Hilliard; please consider Hilliard Square! Thank you, Steph
Units are nice and well cared-for. Angela in the office is great to work with- very professional and attentive to detail. Thanks so much!
The management was very nice and quick with the answers I needed. Communication was great and was also quick. Management seems very easy to work with and I’m looking forward to moving into my new home.
everything breaks, and maintenance is slow. used to be better years ago under old management.
High electric bill do to poor ac Units. small window units in the wall rarely last more than a year. Office hours always changing high turnover for managers. Rarely is someone in the office and they don’t answer the phones. There are plenty of apartments near by for a better price and more amenities.
I love the environment and leasing staff are great.
I have called and left voicemails at least half a dozen times in order to get leasing and application information, and haven't received a single call back. If the management is that indifferent to potential tenants, imagine how little they'll care once you're contractually obligated to give them your money every month for a year!
This is my first moving experience and I am so glad that I chose to live here. Hyatt was very helpful with everything from start to finish and I cannot thank her enough. She answered all of my questions and was very patient with me and all of my questions. I am going to recommend living here to everyone I know looking around for some place to live. I love living here.
I lived here for a year about 7 months ago and after a brief time with my parents, moved back in again this month. I could not be more impressed by the new property manager! Hyatt is helpful, personable, and clearly cares about her tenants well-being. She personally oversaw the replacement of a malfunctioning dishwasher in my apartment. The problem was diagnosed and the dishwasher replaced within a week. She communicated with us every step of the way. She is always willing to help with anything we need and I couldn’t be more thankful for her. The place itself is affordable and though it doesn’t have a flashy modern look, it is clean, problems are fixed fast, and it’s in a wonderful safe neighborhood right in the middle of Hilliard. Because of the way they set up heating and air, utilities have always been affordable for me. I highly recommend this community to everyone I know who’s seeking an apartment in the area (and even some who aren’t!)
I lived in the Hilliard Square Townhome Apartments for 1 year and I could not be more pleased with my experience. First of all the management was always kind, considerate, able to kindly work through issues if any came up. Maintenance was also wonderful; during the "polar vortex" this past winter it got much colder than normal, and due to the weather, several water pipes broke (this happened all over Columbus--and is no commentary on the water pipe quality, which is just fine), and the maintenance men were out for hours on end in the cold fixing the multiple pipe breaks while maintaining a kind and patient attitude. If we ever had any other problems (and they were rare) maintenance was always timely. The community itself is full of very kind and considerate people who look out for each other without being overbearing. Several of my neighbors are still my friends--even though I have moved away to another state. I always felt safe, and knew people were watching out for each other. The location was also fabulous. I worked downtown Columbus, and even with the horrible Columbus traffic, I made it in about 20 minutes every morning (practically unheard of if you live the same distance in any other direction); the community is so close to 270! It's also a "hidden" community--being that it can't be directly seen from the road. It's walking distance to 2 grocery stores, the post office, and some fabulous restaurants. Just 1 exit down from the Mall at Tuttle Crossing! The price point is fabulous--you get a garage, a washer and dryer (new), spacious living area, dishwasher, and water at a flat fee. It's cheap--without being cheap in quality.
These apartments were great when I first moved in but after renewing my lease and a management change things drastically went downhill. I can never get ahold of the office staff and rarely get a call back. I've been given incorrect information on several occasions. It's too bad a nice community has become flawed with this management change.
At this point I'm so impressed that I took the time to send a letter to the corporate office. Here is part of the letter that I sent. I’ve rented with several different communities for over thirty years, and I have to say the consistent professionalism and timely communication coupled with the positive and pleasurable attitude presented by your leasing agent by the name of Rhonda was a big contributing factor in my decision to move here. Now that I’m a resident and I see firsthand her multitasking skills while maintaining her kind professional demeanor, confirmed I had to make the time to let the appropriate person know what a wonderful choice you made by making Rhonda part of your team. My hat goes off to Rhonda !!! So far, so good...
The location of this apartment is what drew me to it in the first place, in addition to the decent rent. The good thing about the office staff is that they do make a point to know what is going on and can pinpoint where issues are coming from in terms of theft, break-ins, etc. They do offer a Monthly Newsletter, which is very nice, as long as they actually get your email on the newsletter mailing list. They have assigned parking, but no way to reconcile an issue if someone else is parked in your assigned spot, unless you can actually find the office open. What is sad is that their own employees don't know what spots are assigned to what apartments, so numerous times I had to park elsewhere because the maintenance guy was parked in my spot, or he would just block several spots at one time.
I live here for the cheep rent, garage space, safe neighborhood, and convenient location. I don't think highly of the management. They make it clear that they do not care about their positions and/or the quality of their service. The neighborhood is safe and quiet. I always feel welcomed by my neighbors. The location is convenient to schools, shopping, grocery stores, and parks. There is an out of control stray cat community.
