Property Ratings at HILLSIDE APARTMENTS
I first want to point out that some of these reviews are fake and probably coming from the employees. This apartment is definitely not 5 stars. It’s not even 3 stars. The property needs improvements! The staff is not always pleasant.
I've lived here for almost 2 yrs. From the Staff, to maintenance, and even my neighbors are friendly, and always will to help. The respect the fact I'm a night-shift worker, and are always willing to work around my sleep schedule. I couldn't ask for a better place to live!
After moving out at 18 and I am now 34, I think it’s safe to say I have lived in my share of apartment complexes. After being married and owing two homes I was very reluctant of moving to an apartment again. Now here at Hillside I am thankful I chose this complex to be the one I gave the chance to. The staff here are very nice and accommodating. There were request made at move in that they were happy to oblige. Move in was a snap and no issues when it came to the date needed. I would definitely recommend them for anyone looking for a nice, quiet complex and one that is maintained and kept up.
I lived in a 2 bedroom 2 bath apartment for 3 years. All of the staff are very kind and efficient. Anytime I had a problem or needed something they always were very quick to respond and fix the problem. They often left little “gifts” on the door for paying rent early/on time. I would recommend this apartment to anyone.
i only been staying at gillside for only 2 months &' i love it . its quit and clean . The staff in the office is so sweet , i just love them . ivwill definitely be resigning my lease next year .

I lived in the apartments for a few years, management has changed a lot, but staff has always been friendly and helpful, the complex are very well kept up and grounds are neat as well, I would recommend this complex to anyone whom has kids that likes to come outside and play, their are a lot of small children in the the complex, my living experience over in the apartments was very well, and Was very safe.. with no issues during the time I was living there.
RUN! I wouldn’t recommend this complex. The last management staff, I will say I enjoyed better than the prevous group. Management changed often while I was living here. Cooling in the summer months is horrible. The first two summers were decent. My last two summers were miserable. I only renewed my lease again my last year there because I was promised the AC issue would be resolved completely. I placed multiple work orders with no resolve. Only to be told the AC unit is cooling properly and there’s nothing more they could do, although my family and I were suffering from the exhausting heat daily. I did not cook any meals during the warmer months due to the cooling issue which was inconvenient. It was just too hot to endure the extra heat cooking created. Once the AC unit went completely out and my family was without air for over 48 hours during a summer month. I was offered a window unit AC which leaked water. Every year for the last three years of my lease there was an infestation of lady bugs in the apartment that could never be taken care of by pest control. My expirence here was not a great one. I wouldn’t recommend living here to anyone!
I have lived at Hillside for a little over a year. Overall, my experience has been great. The staff is super friendly and helpful(I love Melissa). Work orders are completed in a timely manner. Most of the time I submit requests through the app while I'm at work, and by the time I get home the maintenance staff has completed my request. It's quiet, the scenery is beautiful, the complex is always clean, and they have the biggest bathrooms I've seen in an apartment. I would definitely recommend you come check it out for yourself!
Horrible place to live. Since I have lived here my car has been broken into twice once I was actually in the car. Also there have been multiple water leaks (more than 4) in which the staff does not fix they just clean up the water and do not find the root of the problem. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME VIEWING THIS PROPERTY IT IS UNSAFE and also very unsanitary!
We loved staying at Hillside. It was so clean, and so quiet. I don't think I saw a single bug in my house, ever! The maintenance staff were friendly and helpful. The management was nice and readily available. There were a lot of pool repairs going on while we were there, but we just used the secondary one, and that was great to have in the summer! Not to mention how green it is - so many trees and grassy spaces. I love the gated entry and the convenience of the gas station and family dollar and mansfield road stores. I never encountered anything sketchy or threatening, and I always felt secure. There were a lot of kids around that play outside, which creates a very neighborhood-y atmosphere. We moved because we needed to accommodate more people and pets and got a good deal on a rental house. But I would have had no problem staying in Hillside longer. I also never had a problem with noise. Hearing noises through the walls will happen in any apartment complex, of course, but it always seemed incredibly quiet to me, especially when it was night time and the quiet mattered! We lived on the top floor, so I don't know if living on the first floor would be noisy from the overhead movement... I know that when some of our equipment (e.g. hot water heater) malfunctioned, the residents directly below us got water in their home. So, I think I would recommend staying in an upstairs apartment if its a possibility. Most of the complaints I've heard involve direct neighbors, so if you are looking at an apartment here, I would just check out who your potential new neighbors would be and try to make sure there aren't any big noise/security/etc issues with them. I definitely didn't have problems, I lived around building 14, and my neighbors were all nice/quiet.
