I stopped in about a 2 bedroom and den apartment. I spoke with Michelle and Stephany. They were so nice and friendly

I brought my mom to tour this property last week. Stephanie was wonderful and full of information. She took her time with my mom and repeated anything that was necessary. My mom is on a fixed income so we are looking for something in her budget. Stephanie is great so make sure you stop hiding her in the back.

I can't believe that this property is a hidden gem. The staff is amazing, especially Stephanie in the rental office. All property's should strive for this type of service.

Leasing staff Brittany, Stephanie, and Michelle are very polite and friendly. Maintenance technicians, Damien, Kim, and Jodi are very knowledgeable and clean up after themselves. Request are done in a timely manner. I would recommend this complex.

I absolutely love my apartment. It’s quiet and the people in my building are super friendly, it’s like having family away from family. The staff in the front office is ALWAYS pleasant and helpful. Huge shoutout to the property manager Penny and Assistant Manager Brittany, I truly appreciate you both and you ladies definitely rock! Also, whenever I submit a maintenance request it’s always taken care of right away! The maintenance supervisor Shannon is always pleasant as well! It’s been a very long time since I’ve lived in an Apartment, probably 43 years. No excessive noice, or nighttime drive stones. The office staff is very friendly and these days find an apartment that accepts pets and smokers is nice since I’m both. The only real complaint is folks throwing their trash wherever they want on the weekends, but management is right on it and gets the maintenance staff right on it. It’s located between two shopping center on Portsmouth Blvd & Airline Road. All in All I find it’s 1-bedroom Apartment more then meets my needs.

When management is worst expect the worst, been here for more than two years and they have changed management like baby diapers. They don't care about anything but signing contract and the payment , they will call you write you letters when they need money. Call them for the apt issues you'll wait as if waiting for tortoise coming from 100 miles away!! I recommend finding another place but not this horrible building with a lot of roaches.I suppose these other reviews are from employees.

The Apartments are very spacious and the neighborhood is pretty quiet. The Maintanence manager Wendy is awesome and the property manager penny ia very helpful with explaining things. The rental agent Amber however is HORRIBLE! She gets a nasty attitude on the phone everytime I have to speak with her. They over charge for water then had the nerve to have the laundry room down the whole time I lived there and still charged me to have a unit in my place. I paid 100 dollars a month for water and spent less than 10 hours a day in my place! These apartments are overpriced! They lack updated bathrooms and dishwashers! My stove would wable around when being used. My house smelled like cigarettes from the ppl below me. They have a nat problem in the hallways and myself and my neighbor had to constantly kill and clean swarms of nats. They lied on my final bill twice but would only admit to one inconsistency. I would not recommend anyone to move in here until the come up with a fair billing arrangement and fix these rinky dink apartments.

Currently leased a 1bdrm apt here and a month into the lease and Im having issues with maintenance doing unprofessional jobs covering up holes in the walls by using a torn board and nailed it over top of the hole. Then they advertise that water, trash, and sewer is included thats a lie they bill you with your rent for the water, trash, and sewer so thats not included. Will not be here for next yr. not really a good place to live the property management could definetely do better.

I love my 1 bedroom with a den most places don't offer a Floorplan like this so I was excited when I came across hodges manor apartments ! Since moving in I don't have one complaint . My neighbors mind their business and they don't disturb me and I love going to pool just to hang out when I'm not working . I came in on a awesome special and got $100 off for the first 2 months .

I lived at Hodges Manor Apartments with my family for two years and I couldn't be happier with my experience! The office staff are always willing to help and super friendly . We are a military family who moved from Texas and needed something right away and the ladies in the office met our exceeded our needs and really went above and beyond . The only reason we moved from the area was because we decided to buy a home . I would recommend this apartment complex , especially if you're just starting out . They're newly updated and reasonably priced !

I think many of these reviews must be from employees or the owner. Went to visit my mother who moved in a few months ago and she had no heat for the past 3 weeks. The maintenance lady said they had budget problems and could only buy so much at a time when things break. As for the well kept grounds that's another joke. I am going to try and get my mother out of her lease, she cannot live this way. Also the buildings must have been built back in the late 50s very old property.

I been having A/C problems for weeks. I was told they would come and replace my unit but instead they dont do nothing. Now my heat isnt working and its getting cold, i keep calling none stop they would speak in present tense but they really mean when ever they feel like it. I have a child, they dont care and the office dont know nothing about the maintenance and their lazyness either. You got kids, dont even stress yurself to come ova here it isn't worth the money !

Hi, Hodges Manor Apartments had exactly what I was looking for with immediate occupancy. It is a modern apartment with a beautiful landscape and plenty of parking. Our electrical power is very stable with the cables being buried underground. It hardly ever goes out, even in bad storm. We have good air conditioning which is a "must have" in this area. We can also get Verizon FiOS here. Cable TV is also important. There is even a swimming pool nearby. The support staff has been professional which helped set my mind at ease. When I called them in an emergency, they responded right away. It has been peaceful living here at Hodges Manor Apartments. I would recommend this place to anyone. Sincerely, Harold Williams

I think my apartment is just right im a single dad that works two jobs I absolutely love my new space. I have a huge walk in closet , nice living room area nice size kitchen .i love how they remodeled the kitchen cabinets and counters it makes the apartments look a lot newer.the staff are very friendly and made me feel very welcome and comfortable .the neighborhood is very quiet never heared of any problems , the rent it pretty affordable for it to be so nice on the inside . I think that I will be here for a while . I would refer anyone to hodges manor apartments for a great comfortable living experience .

I have never been in an apartment complex that makes life so easy for me like Hodges Manor. this a perfect dream for me when I think about comfort. I love the entire staffs and the quick response of the maintenance crew. I am so happy with the location and the unbelievable things that I find around. I will totally recommend my friends and family to move in if they ask for a place to rent. I am so envy of the rental office and I wish my apartment will set up and smell like that. I like my new apartment. It is very spacious. Bigger then I thought it was going to be. I love the kitchen. Had a issue with the neighbors and the people in the rental office handle the issue quickly. I just have to get use to moving from a house to a apartment. Living in a house and a apartment is so totally different. But other then that this is a ok place to live.

Quiet neighborhood, in which I love, stays clean and maintenance does a really good job keeping up the complex.

Been living here going on five years and I'm pretty much satisfied. The rent I pay for the size of my apartment is real reasonable. The maintenance staff is prompt and helpful. The landscaping has always been a nice addition to the complex. Other than updating of the bathrooms, Hodges Manor is a nice place to reside.

I love Hodges Manor Apartments when ever you call for something to get fix in your house the staff is always there. I been out there for 1 yr and an month I even renew my lease because it's sooo peaceful in the neighborhood my neighbors do get noisy but it has gotten better since I call the rent office but other then that I love the way they keep it clean in the hallways the pool has been ?? every summer it never has a problem the kids love it they just re did the play park and the housekeeper lady did a wonderful job painting it and making it brand new again the pets are friendly in the neighborhood. If anyone else I no is looking for an place I will refer them to Hodges Manor I refer 1 of my friends and they always talk about how they love there 1st apt and never had a problem or an complaint yet.

My Apartment complex is Very Loving and Caring when it comes to it Residents. I've seen them above beyond when a Resident is in financial struggle being understanding and providing other resources to be stress free and get Back on Track. Hey! I'm one of them. I'm a single mother raising a child with Autism. Not only that but they take care of Apartment repair as immediately and professional. It's like Family Out Here! ?? This Offer is Soooooo Cool and Nice to Residents all over the World! You guys Rock!

We have lived in Hodges Manor Apartments for about 6 months now, and we love it so far! The grounds are clean and well maintained. Our area is pretty quiet in general, but if we do hear neighbors in the hallways, we rarely hear them inside our apartment. The walls muffle any noise. We love the pet friendly community! Our one bedroom is a perfect size for us and our two dogs. The walk in closet,and storage in general, are great. Our kitchen has a ton of cabinets and the pantry is pretty large. We are a quick walk to Portsmouth City Park, which is a huge plus for us! We love going there on nice days. Conveniently located with a quick drive to Chesapeake Square or Victory Crossing for any shopping.

I love it here. The management is very friendly and courteous. The grounds are kept clean, and managed well. Maintenance is done the same day you make a request. The apartments have large rooms, plenty of space for all my stuff. There is also a nice gated pool. Rent is very reasonable, with specials going on all the time. 1,2, and 3 bedrooms. Pets are allowed.

I've been living here for the past 7 months and I can definitely say I love it. Safe and comfortable place to raise a family. Rooms are spacious and carpet wall to wall. Rent at a reasonable rate and Chesapeake square mall not to far from here so shopping is very convenient. I love it here!!

When i move here about 5 years ago i was just going to stay at hodges manor about 2 years and then rent a home or try and to buy one but every year i change my mind about moving because the staff make u feel like this is a home they always there when u need them like they part of my family whenever i called and tell them about a problem i have in my apartment which is very little someone be there within the hour or that day when i called they always talk to me very profession and with respect i really love staying here its safe and clean and most important hodges manor have the best staffs working in the office so thats why i called them my hodges manor family and they are rating with 100 stars not 5

The Management is great. I love that we are close to grocery stores, gas stations, and food! I dont own a car so it helps that I can walk to the store to get things I need. There are also Schools and a library right across the street and several churches around us. I also love that my pets are allowed, It was a huge factor to us. There is laundry facilities in each building but you also have the option to rent a washer and dryer so you dont have to share with others (this was my choice). The only complaint that I have is that the floors squeak really bad, im not sure if its becuase of the age of the buiding but it gets really old really fast. I feel sorry for the neighbors below us because its in the whole apartment and not just in a couple spots. Other than that im happy with my home.

I lived here for a year. I chose Hodges because it's close to stores, my work and interstate. First time we moved, A/C was broken and a clogged drainage. It took them weeks before they fixed the drainage. I called them 5x, they always say maintenance will be there, but nobody comes. I have to buy my own stuff to fix the bathtub and sinks. When I call emergency maintenance to make them fix the drainage, they will say it's not an emergency. Leaks and drainage was our number 1 problem for the whole year. I only call the emergency maintenance because that's the only way a help will come. The floors creeks. even though we are just walking, the tenant downstairs will knock because of our footsteps. If you didn't rent a washer&dryer they will tell you they have public w/d, but it was broken for a year. So you are force to rent their w/d. lastly, when we moved out we received a letter from an attorney asking us to pay for 900$ plus the attorney's fee, even though we didn't hire the lawyer we still have to pay him. We knew we teared up some part of the carpet, but we wish they sent us the receipt of the whole expenses they did for the OLD apartment. We didn't want anymore conflict and we just wanted to moved on and forget Hodges so we paid the amount.

While the inside of the updated apartments are quite lovely please do not be fooled. My building has not had a community door entrance for 3 months letting all sorts of debri/bugs right into the entrace of my apartment spiders and cockaroaches). No one in the office will ever call you back unless it is to get you to sign the contract and then they will wash thier hands of you. The worst part of living here is that the building is so old and not taken care of the floor creaks so loundly that I have yet to get a full nights sleep with out being awoken by the upstairs tenants...and I amnot a light sleeper. In addition the hallways and grounds are extreamly dirty littered with cigerette butts and often broken glass. please save yourselves and look else where
