The mix of cosmopolitan flair and low-key atmosphere once led LA Weekly to speculate that North Hollywood just might be the best place to live in the Los Angeles area. This community has become popular among artists, writers, filmmakers, and actors seeking balance between easy access to Hollywood and a quieter, more suburban home environment.
The local food and bar scene is robust, and the bohemian vibe of the NoHo Art District attracts all manner of offbeat creative types. Uncommon among Los Angeles-area communities, much of North Hollywood is quite walkable, with food, drinks, galleries, and performance venues just a leisurely stroll away from one another. Thankfully for renters, all of the perks of this location come at a relatively affordable cost. Most renters pay an average of $2,282 to rent in North Hollywood, about $500 less than the Los Angeles average.

Property Ratings at Hollywood Backlot Bungalows
Came to visit the location for a tour of the Community. The Property Manager Richard was very informative and gave great customer service. The community was very clean, lots to offer for amenities, they have a nice pool, Jacuzzi, gym, dog run and game room.
Don’t move here. I’ve had the worst possible move in experience. The maintenance and “on-site” manager is horrible in terms of miscommunications, broken promises, and downright disrespect. It’s overpriced for what is essentially renovated trailer homes. The mail system is horrible. usps hates coming out here and won’t acknowledge your home #/ address. You get a space # that’s different than your home number and no matter what you put Amazon and usps lose your packages or don’t deliver them at all.
Love it here! Unlike any other apartment community, I’ve ever been a part of! If you’re tired of the same old cookie cutter apartment and want something that stands out this is the place for you!
I recently moved here and I just love it. The property is beautiful and the staff is super friendly. It has wonderful amenities to keep anyone entertained. A definite plus is that you don't share any walls with neighbors, pet friendly, and in unit laundry. I look forward to settling here for many moons to come.
I toured this property a few times before actually pursuing a lease. Upon my first visit, I noticed how beautiful the property was! Very clean and loaded with amenities! Before my tour, I was greeted with a friendly and inviting staff. During the tour, I was shown all of the beautiful amenities from the pool, the gym, and even a game room! There is also a grilling area and fire pit perfect for entertaining! I was then shown a beautifully staged apartment that gave me great ideas about how to furnish and decorate. The anticipation was built and I was gently encouraged to lease by the lovely agent. I’m definitely excited to start my journey at this community!
I went in and was told a 1 bedroom apartment was available without seeing it in person. Submitted two applications taking their word it was available. Told I was approved, then after never received response from management. I would give 0 stars if it was an option. Be careful applying at this location
I feel like I could give it a 3 star but honestly I rarely have issues with this place. However, I do have some issues. I live in a 2 bedroom, my roommate and I have one driveway style parking spot designated for us. There is some random additional parking spaces near the center of the community next to some of the older houses so I never actually have issues parking if my roommate takes the driveway - people blocking my ability to get out of my driveway is a whole other issue... so there is a lack of parking. My one and only other issue is the lack of communication with management, which is sometimes nice because they don't bother and are super chill but we have construction going on and I never see updates. Things come and go and there's never a warning or email. I never receive emails about community updates that affect our day to days. Otherwise the place is nice and up to date, well kept and continuing to get better. Feels like Resort living, when I'm at the pool or gym I feel like I'm on vacation. I love my house, it's perfect for my roommate and I despite some of the random flaws with clearly rushed construction.
Parking is horrible, if you have a 3 bedroom you only get one parking spot. It feels like a resort in a way but an old people's home at the same time. The special is you get your 5th month free.... not worth it
I have visited the Hollywood Backlot Bungalows as I am in the search for a one or two bedroom apartment. I did not know what to expect only looking at the website. However, the leasing agents were awesome, informational, and great personalities. I appreciate the visit and tour, this place has a good vibration!
Good place to live in. Great managers the process is simple and easy
