Property Ratings at Honey Creek Apartments
Management lost my papers stating I was going to be moving out and then proceeded to charge me for the apartment after I moved out. After speaking to upper management about this, they told me that it’s okay and they’ll remove the charges. I then get a letter from a collection agency months later and have been dealing with it since. I’ve called management so many times and they are incredibly unhelpful and dismissive. Just like they were the whole time I lived there.
Wonderful company. They build amazing apartments and hire very nice apartment managers and maintenance staff. We appreciate living in one of their communities.
Lived here with my girfriend but had to move out early because of a job transfer. I wish I was back at Honey Creek. Great people managage this place. No complaints here. Pool was awesome in the summer. Underground parking was a necessity for the cold winters. Pet friendly apartments. I walked my dog on the winding trail through the tall grasses. He met many friends along the way. If I move back to Wisconsin, I would love to reside again in this community.

The property manager made me feel at home renting a place from one of the Teronomy owned properties. The service and response from staff was exceptional. The move-in conditions on a 10 year old apartment were above and beyond what I expected. I love living in this wonderful community.
I love living here. Awesome apartments. Kind people. Management is helpful in answering any question. Maintenance guys are top notch.
My husband and I moved here December 7, 2019. We weren’t all moved in until January 15, 2020 because we moved from a large 4 bedroom house with an English basement to a 1 bedroom apartment. Stacee the assistant manager was fantastic! She was helpful on getting us things we needed. We moved here from Illinois. We forgot our tools at our house. She brought hers over so we could finish getting our dining room table put together! Heather the manager has been fantastic too! She takes care of any maintenance I tell her about that day! What more could you ask for! Mike is the maintenance guy and another Mike also! Both are top notch! We had our central air go out! They came right over and gave us a window unit to use while they repaired our unit. They had it for a few days and brought it back. We tried this for two times and it still wouldn’t work right. They replaced it right away with a brand new unit. I was very impressed! Then we had a a tenant in another building had a fire In his apartment & it spread to the rest of the building. Well Stacee was on duty at the time. She risked her own life again and again going into that building getting everyone out of that building and their pets! She maid sure everyone had another place to live as well. She also said they set up an account we could all donate to for our neighbors at the Citi Bank in town. So we all had a way to help! I was concerned that they had that because many times people don’t have enough insurance. I know as I did that for a living. The pool is always taken care of by Stacee. She does a good job. I love going to the pool and many of us do use the pool. It’s a great way to relax. The hotel that is close to us has been set-up that we can use there pool in the winter months for a fee of $5 each time we go. That we real great of our Management to do that for us! I don’t think I ever want to live anywhere else. This is a community. We all talk to each other. We are neighbors. This is not at a typical apartment complex. Heather and Stacee made a conscious effort To make this a community and they have succeeded. Thank you for giving us such a wonderful place in the country to live! I love my home and neighbors and want to stay here for the rest of my years. I couldn’t be happier. Thank you! Liz and Paul H.
The atmosphere is very friendly here from top down. I live next to the new construction going on with the fire damage and I can't believe how fast it is being rebuilt. The driveway is somewhat of an inconvenience but understandable. The main reason I continue to live here is that management is always improving the grounds and keeping up with maintaining a nice place. Recently I have seen sidewalks being repaired which shows they care about safety and up keep.
Honey Creek is something special. Community events are a reoccurrence every month. Maintenance is super friendly, on time and very competent. The entire place is dog friendly with a walking trail. The clubhouse and pool is a great place to hang out in the summer. My car is always out of the elements with the underground parking garage. Feels like I'm in a Big City apt by in a country setting. It's awesome and I simply love it!
Time to buy a home!! Been 6 yrs. Here. The only thing I will complain is the buildings are cheaply built. No insulation. You can hear EVERYTHING from you next door neighbors, your upper, lower neighbors, I mean everything! The smaller bedroom IS extremely cold in the winter. The heater vents are up high and blows right out the tall windows.(you need to put plastic covering over windows) Same for in the summer, ac blows out the windows. Very hot in the smaller BR. I have to keep the door closed and sleep on the couch, more so in the winter. Second of all,, neighbors have NO RESPECT towards other people. Slamming doors, early mornings when you work Second shift. Loud talking that echos through out. Oh! Don't shop with Amazon when they leave your packages at your door..several packages of mine were stolen. When you can pay your rent for the highly price,,buy a Home!!! Mike the maintenance guy is Very handy, and hard working. I will only miss him when I will be home in my house!
We lived here for 2 years. They do clear the snow quickly, but don’t keep up on ice. If you’re not a fan of kids, this isn’t the place for you. So many kids running around and the pool is overfilled with them in summer. Gym is okay, but machine was broken the entire year I used it. I don’t know why people complain about deposit, we have a dog who peed on the floor a few times and we got our whole deposit back. FYI, they do make you get your carpet cleaned and they want the whole apartment cleaned like it’s never been used. Understandable! Stacey was very nice! Heather was never particularly nice, so try to catch Stacey if need be. Maintenance is very very slow, and you need to follow up frequently if you want something done. Watch out for bugs! The first year we lived here we had so many crawling in. I woke up with them on me multiple times. Don’t put your bed near the window! Overall, it was an okay apartment. I’d never go back though because there is definitely better ones.
The community events that are planned almost on a monthly basis are amazing. You can tell the managment compnay and staff really care about their residents. JR
shout out to the snow crew management is using. they really do a great job in getting on it quick and cleaning up every stall and asphalt area. keep up the good work and thanks for making it safe to drive and walk around the apartments
Old Man Winter has come knocking early this year and I'm glad I live at Honey Creek Apartments in East Troy. The snow plowing and shoveling of the sidewalks has been wonderful so far this year and we already had two significant snow falls. Managment and the snow crew at Honey Creek Apartments take care of the snow early and often. I have friends that complain all the time at other apartments in Elkhorn about their snow contractor, the ice in the parking lot and sidewalks and how no one shows up to plow until the next day. It is not like that here. I do park in the underground garage but the outside parking is cleaned very well. Keeping the sidewalks clear is a bonus when I need to take my dog out for a nice brisk walk. I'm not to excited about the early snow or winter but I will survive.
I know 8 people who have lived here including myself. None of us received our deposit back. Some also paid pet deposits which was taken on top of the security deposit. Good luck getting anything back if you decide move in.
They will take your security deposit and pet deposit, plus they might charge you for other things. Please look elsewhere for a place to live.
This apartment has everything we would want in an apartment. The pool will be open soon and we can't wait to walk the dogs on the trail they maintain around the ponds. Great amenities, laminate wood looking floors, great location and top of the line appliances and the stainless steel is a modern look for us. Underground parking keept snow and ice off the car all winter. We are on the first floor and can't believe how quiet it is! Highly recommend East Troy as a place to live and have your kids go to school. Just can't wait for summer to use the pool and get outside!
Drove by today and stopped in to talk to the manager. Very nice lady. I was looking for a 3 bedroom but nothing available. Drove around and this is a very well kept place. Wanted to let the manager know how much I appreciated her time even though they were compeltely full. Thanks, Bob W.
If you are looking for apartments away from the big city and big box stores, this is it. Mukwonago and Lake Geneva are close by with the Walmarts, Home Depots, TJ Max and other big box stores but East Troy has one grocery store. We have 4 kids in the school system from elementary to high school. The schools are great and the teachers truly care about teaching. This is not like the public schools of Milwaukee. Our 3 bedroom apartment is very spacious and the washer and dryer is priceless. We have rented here for 4 years now and the rent is very reasonable compared to the apartments in Waukesha where we came from. The traffic is next to nothing but you do have to travel 10 to 20 minutes to reach the rest of civilization. I love it here.
Everyone is friendly around here. The property manager is very friendly. The maintenance person must love his job because he is super nice. We love our neighbors above us and next to us and both have been here longer than us. The Wisconsin winters are no worse than Chicago suburbs where we used to live. There is no traffic in this town which is just a blessing. I would rather park underground than outside in the winter any day. Not much snow this year but I'm sure it will be coming. It's too bad their pool was not an inside pool! Their clubhouse is very classy. My kids love their school teachers and I think the schools here are top notch. It's the best place I have found in the area and plan to stay a lot longer.
Unfortunately there aren't alot of renting options in the area, but if you can I'd look elsewhere. It's nearly impossible to get a hold of anyone. You call the office like they ask you to and it goes right to voicemail...hopefully your message is returned. Email is even worse...probably won't answer back. The new additions you can tell were built fast. They look nice initially, until towel bars fall off walls and water leaks through all the ceiling light fixtures (was told because the winter was so cold, meaning they didn't insulate the roof). Even the older buildings have water issues. Know people with mold and mildew issues which weren't responded to. Wouldn't bank on getting your deposit back. Knew many who lived there and not one got their entire deposit back. Half maybe. Rent at your own risk.
This spring will mark my two years moving in here. I love the atmosphere- my neighbors are all very friendly and noise is not a problem. Staff is very helpful and nice. Overall great place to live with my two cats! Highly recommend.
They only care about money. I lived in a new building for one year, and I had a caged animal. THEY DONT REGULATE CAGED ANIMALS. Prior to moving out they did an "inspection" and decided to take pictures of my unregulated animal without consent. I am being charged for full carpet replacement when not even 2 ft of space was damaged in the ENTIRE place, and the one who handles deposits even AGREED that. Oh, they also replaced my carpet with more expensive stuff and basically charging people to help cover that expense. Not to mention, they rushed the apartments so quick that I actually almost had a fire because the wires to my oven weren't done efficiently and caused all three wires to melt and burn together, and tripped the breaker. Thank god they had that, otherwise I would have had a fire in my apartment due to THEIR mistake. If you live here, don't take an animal here. You will get so screwed over.
Property Manager at Honey Creek Apartments, Responded To This Review
We appreciate the opportunity to address concerns regarding occupying an apartment with pets. Allowing pets to urinate on the floor and not addressing these incidents as they occur results in damage beyond normal wear and tear. Depending on the length of a residency and the age of the carpet, the costs to replace could be quite substantial. We know how important pets are to our residents and hope to continue allowing them in our communities.
These people will steal as much money from you as possible. I highly recommend living anywhere but here. They make you pay almost $200 to get the carpets professionally clean by this guy they recommend. He comes in and says the carpet is in perfect condition. Next thing I know they took my entire security deposits ($1,100) AND are making me pay an additional $2,000 for an entire carpet replacement. I repeat, do not live here, you will 100% regret it.
I have been renting here for almost a year and a half now and have no complaints. The Club House is very nice and I enjoy the fitness center very much- something my last apartment complex did not have!
Very nice place. Very quiet and the people are mostly friendly. We love living here with our cat and dog, such a great place to start off!
I have been renting here for almost 3 years now, and have had minor troubles. I live in a one bedroom, one bath and have no complaints about the size or amount I pay for rent. I love my underground parking, especially for the cold winter months. Noise isn't too bad, the manager Nick is pretty good and takes care of complaints right away. I would recommend these apartments to anyone looking for an affordable, yet luxury apartment and will continue renting here!
This is a great apartment complex with a great location. Just a 30 minute commute to Milwaukee and a 15 minute drive to the beautiful Lake Geneva. Cable, Internet, and underground parking are all included with the rent along with access to the pool and fitness center. The rooms are very nice and spacious with a huge walk-in closet. Honey Creek Apartments offers the best bang for your buck around.
I wish more people had come forward, and posted their experiences. To my knowledge 7 tenants in my building alone have had mold problems including myself! In addition, management is up in your business; they use Mandatory maintenance inspections as a way to invade your privacy. Not only that they will nickel and dime you - good luck getting your deposit back.
The amenities of this complex are nice, rent is reasonable, and it’s one of the newest complexes in the immediate area. However, the property is full of irresponsible tenants who do not pick up after their pets and parents who do not supervise their children. I’ve never lived in a place with so many inconsiderate neighbors. Excessive noise is a big problem as well. The pool is nice but it’s overrun by the children 24/7. There is no place to actually “swim” at this complex. The weight room consists of two treadmills, an elliptical, and a bike. It’s nothing to ride home about. There was a basketball hoop which was very nice until the backboard was broken and it took 6 months to replace. Above all, the property manager is absolutely clueless. I’ve never worked with a manager as useless as this one. Has absolutely no customer service skills or knowledge of real estate law. If you have any problem with your apartment do not go to the manager as it will not be resolved. Other than that it’s a great place to live.…….(sarcasm)
