Property Ratings at Hopkins House Apartments
I lived in HH for 1 year and loved it! I only moved to be in a less student-centric neighborhood. Staff is very friendly, building is kept clean, and maintenance is quick to respond. Most residents are affiliated with JHU so it’s very quiet and never had any noise issues. A lot of young families and grad students. Great choice if you’re looking for a family-friendly apartment in a safe area near JHU.

Living in Hopkins House is an absolutely fantastic experience! From the moment I moved in, the leasing office staff has been incredibly helpful and accommodating. They have consistently gone above and beyond to address any concerns or issues promptly and efficiently. The level of their service is truly outstanding. One respect that sets this apartment apart is its pet-friendly environment. As a pet owner, it can be challenging to find a place that welcomes furry companions with open arms. However, the leasing office has always been more than willing to play with my crazy dog haha. Another highlight of living here is the breathtaking view. The panoramic vistas overlooking the Homewood campus are simply mesmerizing! You won't regret to live here!

Thank you for the wonderful review of our community. We love our furry residents and are glad that you've both enjoyed living here, and that we've helped make your experience a positive one.
We’ve lived here for almost 4 years. We work at Hopkins so it’s a great location for us, right off campus. The staff are lovely - going out of their way to be kind and helpful. I never thought I would have a cordial relationship with a landlord, but honestly, the people working here are just lovely. They’re not out to exploit or overcharge you. They respond quickly to work orders and help me right away if packages get lost. They make sure everyone wears masks in the building. They care. They’ve also just offered to replace our blinds even though they weren’t broken, just hard to use. I will say: this building isn’t new, and it shows - it has hiccups like any building built in the 1960s would - like older plumbing and temperamental air conditioning. But it’s more than livable, and what’s kept us here all these years has been the friendly staff and the great location. We’ve been really happy here.

We love our apartment! The view and lighting are amazing, the utilities are nice, the rooms are spacey, and the maintenance is reliable. The building itself has a good mix of students, adults, and families. The staff is lovely, and Michelle and Sylvere have been nothing but kind to us since day 1. They were were extremely helpful while we were attempting to lock down our lease and during the move-in. Their welcoming smiles and willingness to help makes this place feel like home. Overall, we feel safe and happy at Hopkins House and cannot imagine living anywhere else in Baltimore!

After 31 years living in Tuscany/Canterbury, last fall we sold our house and moved two blocks away to the Hopkins House Apartments. We love our spacious, airy two bedroom apartment, with floor to ceiling windows and wrap-around balcony! The building is well managed - the halls are vacuumed daily, and the common areas on the first floor are cleaned and sanitized every morning. They respond promptly to requests for maintenance. And having the Deli in the building is a plus! Bob Erwin May 2020

I have been staying at Hopkins House for almost 3 years and I love this place. My favorite feature is the French window and capacious balcony. My room is facing the west so I am able to enjoy the amazing sunshine every day. I can enjoy the forest and creek just by standing in front of the window. I could even see stars if it is a lucky day with a clear sky! How wonderful! I have also to say that both the management group and maintenance staff are super responsible. I really appreciate their help.

I love living in the Hopkins House! This is my second year and I am so glad that I made the decision to rent here. The apartment is a great value for the size - the rooms are spacious, there is alot of natural light, and the full length balcony is wonderful. The staff are friendly, responsive, and very helpful. And the pool! What a treat. I also like having an exercise room, secure package lockers, and the Hopkins Deli on the first floor (that you can access without going outside). Finally, the Hopkins House is within walking distance of so much - restaurants, bars, and shops of Hampden and Charles Village, cultural events at Johns Hopkins University, the Baltimore Museum of Art, the Waverly Farmers Market. and Stony Run Park. A great place to live.

We are living here about 2 years and we are pretty happy to belong this community. Now we have renovated elevators! The friendly staff is always ready to help us. Hopkins House is located in a pleasant and convenient neighborhood nearby bus stops, grocery stores and Hopkins shuttle. The apartments are great with huge windows. The balconies are a perfect place to enjoy the view and the sunset. The building has some nice amenities like gym, lounge, pool, conference room and Deli. Hopkins house is also a real pet friendly place. Our dog feels good to live here.
I’ve lived here since I started graduate school in 2018 and I must say, I’ve really enjoyed my time here! The leasing office and maintenance staff are a gem (shout outs to Michelle and Silwa) and have been very responsive to my needs! The apartments are spacious, and the balcony has been a godsend during these times. The building is attached to Hopkins Deli, which is also very convenient. The building is well maintained and the common areas are a nice reprise when needing a new environment to work in. The building is across the street from JHU, which makes it super convenient for students. Overall, a really great building to live in that is ideal for JHU students.

I really like my place here and the location is great. The staff are super responsive and helpful. Plenty of common areas to hangout with friends...plus they added secured mailboxes which is awesome. And they have space for frozen/fresh food delivery too! Walking distance to grocery stores, movie theaters and spas. Love it!

I've lived here since 2017. The apartments are nice and spacious, with ample natural light, and the location is excellent. Other highlights of living here are: - The maintenance and front office staff are very competent, work orders and other issues are addressed usually within a day. - The package locker system works well for receiving deliveries. - Hopkins deli is right downstairs and is very well stocked. - The building gym is great in a pinch. - The laundry machines are new and work well. - The elevators are brand new (2019-2020) and work well. - It's on the Bluejay shuttle line, which is great if you're affiliated with JHU.

I couldn't be happier with where I live! Firstly, everything is so convenient: there's a gym, a pool, a mart/deli, laundry room, a package room, bike room, maintenance, a lounge, etc. Moreover, the staff here are so, so, so friendly and accommodating. They're so quick to respond to any questions/feedback, and have been so courteous. I've only lived here for about 2.5 months but from what I've seen, there seems to be a lot of resident outreach, as well. Last week, there was an event by the pool where residents were served free food and refreshments. Besides that, the apartments are SO nice. I'm living with a friend, and we each get our own bedroom, bathroom, and closet. There's so much space, and the natural lighting is so gorgeous because of the big windows. Since it's also pet-friendly here, my roommate and I were able to adopt a little kitty. Since I'm a student at Hopkins, I'm a little strained on money, but Hopkins House has been very affordable so far. Considering what is included in the total package, this apartment is far superior to other options nearby. Hopkins House puts a great amount of effort in making sure their residents are happy! I'm super pleased living here and feel sad at the thought of moving out once college is over :-( .

Thank you for the wonderful review of our community! We are so pleased to hear how happy you've been with your apartment and with the team and are thankful to be the place you choose to call home!
I have rented a stand studio and been here for almost 8 months. It is a really good choice. It is near the Homewood Campus and has a convenient market. It has a swimming pool and gym. The building is clean. I thought the best is the warm staff. They are very patient with all your things. Also, there are some parties hold by the office. Last month, we had a crab party. Another good thing, the maintenance team is very efficient and solve your problem perfectly. I love my apartment and the staff, love Michelle.

I loved every second of my stay at the Hopkins House! From the strat, the property managers were so kind and helpful. The building and hallways were always clean and well maintained by their maintenance team. The gym and pool are great aspects of the building that I utilize very often. I cannot imagine living anywhere else and will continue to recommend the Hopkins House to friends and co-workers. Another thing I loved about staying here was that it is so close to the city, JHU, and amazing restaurants!

Thank you so much for this awesome review! We appreciate all the nice things you had to say about our staff and community. Please let us know if there is anything else you need and we'd be happy to help!
I have lived at Hopkins House for over 10 years and still love it!! Deb, the property manager, and her staff are fabulous, warm, attentive and efficient. I have seen many improvements (it is an older building) from the fitness room, laundry and community lounge! The staff always communicates with the residents and go above and beyond during times of improvements. During the recent BGE upgrade they had complimentary pizza and food trucks for the residents. About the apartments, the balcony and large windows give the apartment wonderful light! And I never hear my neighbors. I have renewed my lease again!! I Love it here!!
This is a good building but. Location is good, nice view and a deli market below. However, it has the least care for Hygiene. Many units are infested with roach, even up to 16th floor. The lobby smells trash at warm season. The leasing office staff are far less professional comparing to rivals.
I have lived in Hopkins House for four years and enjoyed my time there. After my first year, the building went through a large renovation which improved the gym, lobby, and also created a lounge area for residents. Management has tried to be accommodative to residents and actively sponsor social events such was wine & painting, bingo, and other games. There are many families who live in the building which makes Hopkins House feel like a community. Management has been responsive to all of my concerns throughout my time here. Yassmin has been a fantastic part of my experience from my initial move in all the way till the end. She has been responsive to my concerns over the years and has always addressed them to the best of her abilities.
I moved in this apartment last October, so it's been 4 months when I write this review. [People] The people working here are nice and friendly, including office managers, facility etc. When I requested to fix some parts of my bathroom, they did it immediately. Also when I had mattress, which is oversized than delivery box (and is massive), they help to carry in front of my door. They could even help me when my car got its battery empty. [Room] Fine. Well maintained. Sometime I can hear neighbors talking/singing, especially in the night, but is acceptable. And has great view. [Facility] Elevator is fine - someone complains about it. But there are already three. And we have 16 floors packed with many folks. How can we improve this any more? [Convenience] One of the most nearby apartments to JHU, so very safe. Also it has a store in its lobby. Most of the item are overpriced, but should be very helpful when someone need beer in the night or when heavy snow. [Rent] can be paid online. Electricity/gas/water could go to $50-$100, depending on season.
I am extremely impressed with the management's considerate and thoughtful handling of an unfortunate accident in the building. I am blown away by Hopkins House's efficiency, empathy, concern, and functionality. They kept residents and future-residents consistently informed with well-written updates. They provided excellent solutions to immediate problems and worked tirelessly to solve the issue. I am very reassured and grateful for the staff's attitude, professionalism, and concern! It is a well-run building, staffed by intelligent and caring people.
I have lived at the Hopkins House Apartments for a number of years and am offering my thoughts to anyone looking for an apartment in the Roland Park area. The apartments are spacious and well-maintained, and the view from the Linkwood Road side of the building is spectacular in the fall and spring. The management company recently renovated the lobby and hallways, and they are bright and clean. The maintenance staff is responsive and does a very good job. I would recommend the building highly.
