Savage-Guilford is a peaceful neighborhood 18 miles south of Baltimore and 25 miles north of Washington, DC between Interstate 95 and Highway 1. Thanks to its ideal location and great amenities, the area attracts commuters and families. Renters will find an array of moderately priced apartments and townhomes that make up the rental scene. Within town, the Middle Patuxent River and Stone Lake provide renters with a variety of water sports as well as parks and trails to explore. Shops and restaurants are scattered throughout the area, but the Historic Savage Mill, a restored cotton mill turned into a trendy shopping mall, is a favorite spot for shopping and dining. Right outside of town, residents have access to more family-friendly fun at the Autobahn Indoor Speedway, Arundel Mills, and parks surrounding the Patuxent River.

Property Ratings at Howard Hills Townhomes
I’ve enjoyed living here for the most part. Quiet and safe neighborhood, decent amount of space in the townhomes, excellent customer service, and a great location. The townhomes and appliances seem to be a bit dated, but not too bad. Parking isn’t the best. You’re supposed to have two spots in front of your home, but they aren’t “assigned.” I’ve had a few times where neighbors have parked in front of my home and it’s inconvenient. I’ve also had to park far into another neighborhood because there was nothing closer. But that’s pretty rare and there are no major issues for the most part. Also, I tend to find a lot of bugs coming in from outside, not sure if that’s because the windows are old. Overall, this is a good place to rent, especially if you want something in Howard county that’s not crazy expensive.
Family friendly neighborhood helped make my transition to the area very pleasant. I felt safe and the landlord was professional, friendly, and timely with maintenance responses and requests.
I’ve lived on the property for about 2 years and my experience has been nothing short of superb. Although a rental property, you’re bound to feel like this could be a permanent home, the environment is so serene however, the overseers of the property are the main reasons why is it has been so pleasant to live here. This property is so well managed, both Charlene and Bruce do a phenomenal job making this community a place anyone would love to live in. It is certainly a hidden gem as the property is quite secluded and so very unique. Reasonably priced living cost for what you get in turn. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience living here. Thank you to the property’s management and staff for making this community a great place to live
I am enjoying my new two bedroom townhouse. It is spacious with more storage than an average 2 bedroom. It is nice and quiet throughout the day and night. I am currently teaching kindergarten from home and the garbage truck comes during my morning meeting. It's the highlight for my students; they say uh oh, we hear the garbage truck. We take walks through the neighborhood weekly in the evening, everyone is friendly. I had a couple of things that needed attention, and it was fixed within a reasonable time.

We have lived here for a little over 2 years. The rental office is probably the most accommodating and best customer service. They respond quickly through email. Maintenance is always quick as well. Definitely a quiet neighborhood and you can’t hear anything from your next door neighbors. Best for families.
Bruce and Charlene are awesome!! They are very prompt and polite. I’ve never experienced such great and welcoming customer service until I moved to Howard Hills. I’ve been recommending any and everyone who is looking to move in the area to move to Howard Hills. Thank you Bruce and Charlene :)

The office staff Bruce and Charlene are just wonderful. The grounds are well-maintained and service calls are answered quickly. The pool and yard are wonderful. I am very happy to have made Howard Hills our home. The location is quaint, yet convenient to shopping, entertainment and more!
Looking for a new place tgat quiet and beautuful. I just recently moved to Howard Hills Townhouses, and I must say I love it! The area is quiet and beautiful both day and night. The office staff Bruce and Charlene were both so helpful and courteous. The grounds are well kept and the area offers trails, parks and antique shops if you like that. The whole process from the application to moving in, any questions or concerns were answered. The maintenance staff as well were very helpful in assisting with any concerns or questions. I have been very pleased with the service received and plan to live here for a long time. Linda T.
Finally my husband and I found the most beautiful, comfortable, friendly and most of all peaceful place to live when we literally stumbled onto Howard Hills Townhomes. We we're blessed enough to obtain a 3bedroom 1 and 1/2 bath duplex with front porch and a extremely large yard with a shed for extra storage with our own driveway in the lovely historical and quiet neighborhood of Savage MD. Now the Staff, Absolutely Amazing. Both Kia, Charlene and the entire maintence staff are truly Awesome. If your looking for a wonderful place to live you'll find it at Howard Hills Town home. Jeff n I are soooo happy here.
I moved here 8 years ago and fell in love, in the summer we have plenty of cookouts on our back patio, we also enjoy the pool in the summer. Our three bedroom townhome is spacious and I rarely hear my neighbor. My kids and I love the schools, from elementary, middle and now high school, Howard County offers the best education. I plan on being here for many years to come!
Nice community, perfect for families. I have lived in both the townhome and the duplex and enjoyed each style of home. Quiet neighborhood at night with no issues. I plan to live here for a long time.
Overall, conditions in the rental townhome are good. The amount of living space is nice, as well as the general conditions of the apartment. The presence of a half-bathroom on the first floor is a welcome addition. If there were anything to improve upon, it would be nice to have the heating system work through the central air system as opposed to the heating panels, although the heating panels do allow for finer temperature control between the rooms of the apartment.
We moved in a year ago - and now we're renewing our lease. This place is great - a quiet neighborhood, nice neighbors, off street parking. Our townhouse has a nice view of a field and the woods behind. The patio is great along with the shed for all your little extras that just don't fit. Staff is wonderful - you call, they do whatever is needed in a timely manner. Bedrooms are a good size, closets are rather tall and large. We requested an extra rod and extra shelving in each one - that's how high they were! It's great for space. Might want to get some extra carpeting for the floors - they (the floors) squeak a bit. Near every kind of store you'd need - some even in walking distance. We're happy with this place. Definitely recommend.
I've been living at Howard Hills for the last 8 years in the same unit and renting with the Storch Realty company for the last 14 years and it's been great. Come on, where else do you get a brand new kitchen and two bathrooms completely done in a day and a half and all you have to do is move your stuff out of the way? Won't get that if you try buying a house. The units are good size and I like that there is not a giant flight of stairs to climb to actually get into your front door. The school district is very good, both elementary and middle schools are within walking distance and high school is three and a half miles away so either a short bus ride or one can even bike it. The light is great, the maintenance is always on the ball the rare times I did have some kind of an issue. Anyhow, absolutely can't complain.
Great place to live. Convenient to stores and shops...sorrounded by a fantastic historic area with activities for the community.
I have lived at Howard Hills for over 2 years now. My town home is so nice and comfortable! I enjoy my private patio and quiet neighborhood. The company and staff are amazing! I highly recommend this property to anyone in search of a new place to call home.
In my search for a 3 bedroom apartment, I stumbled into Howard Hills. Instead of an apartment, I found a duplex. 3 bedrooms, 1 and a half baths, on one level. But even more, I found a place to call home. A front porch, a side yard that reaches around the back, with a shed for extra storage. My pet calls this home too. Savage is a great neighborhood. It is quiet here in this little historic town, but it is close to everything we need. The mall, grocery, post office, and great schools. We Love it. The office staff (Charlene and Bruce) have been great on the rare occasion we needed to call them. Trust me when I tell you, I spent days researching, and nothing compares in price for value that we found here. Luci
