Hagerstown, MD, is the county seat of Washington County in the western region of the state and Maryland's 18th largest city. Covering an area of 12.91 square miles, the community has a population of 40,638 residents. The city is in close proximity to Frederick, Mount Airy and Westminster, MD. The state of Maryland was one of the country's original colonies, and settlers who arrived in 1736 in western Maryland, then considered a wilderness, were offered land at a very small cost as an enticement to persuade these newcomers to settle in this attractive region
The Washington County Museum of Fine Arts, located in Hagerstown's historic City Park, has been praised for being one of the leading small museums in the country. It offers a surprisingly broad variety of fine arts exhibitions for viewers of all ages, housing over 7,000 works of art representing worldwide artists and cultures. The Maryland Theatre is a central feature of the Arts and Entertainment district of the city.

Property Ratings at Hunter Hill
Beautiful property, great location and an AMAZING manager. Rebecca walks you through the application process and answered all of my questions. If there are any issues with the apartment Rebecca addresses them quickly and fully. I’m treated like a member of the family here and I couldn’t be happier!
Would recommend these apartments to anyone with children & pets that is looking for a safe part of town & spacious apartment with balcony. After looking at 4 different locations locally, finally found the right vibe & fit for my family. Rebecca was so helpful, polite & professional in the leasing office. Was happy to answer any questions I had.
Daughter has been there since Sept. Nothing but trouble with LOUD and obnoxious neighbors upstairs. Up all hours of the night. Nothing but excuses from landlord. She will be moving as soon as possible. Crap apartment too.
The management company is the worst. We notified them 2 days after the start of the month of our intent to move out two months later, at the expiration of our lease. This resulted in an additional months rent. The lease, the letter of notification and the things we were told were all contradictory. They use these contradictions to charge you more money at whatever rate they determine. This was a terrible experience from beginning to end and we were quiet tenants, never there, and paid on time every month. Before we even moved in, there was confusion as to a discount provided and when there was a small balance due, they made no attempt to contact us and instead we received a subpoena to appear in court. Before we even moved in!! AND, they tried to charge ME for court costs for their error!! Now, at a time when a lot of people are suffering financially they make no considerations for a 2 day late notice. They give more leeway in the rent payments. If you rent here, make sure you give them 61 days notice before you try to move out at the end of your lease as they will use that contradiction in their terms to win.
My family and I lived at Hunter Hill Apartments for many years and the experience was wonderful. We loved the area and management was great. I’d highly recommend these apartments!
My husband and I have been here for almost 4 years. When we first moved in our building was great. It was quiet and we had friendly neighbors. Then a couple months ago, we had a woman and her 2 young daughters move-in and it’s been downhill since than. Yes, we live in an apartment, yes there’s going to be noise. But when I wake up in the middle of the night because she decided to rearrange her furniture at 2 in the morning is ridiculous. Plus she’s always swearing at her kids, or her baby daddy when he decides to stop by. Even after complaining to the property manager to do something about it, they really haven’t resolved the issue. Apparently you can make as much noise as you’d like and not get in trouble for it. Maryland Management won’t really do anything except tell you to keep it down. Not to mention there was a shooting that happened here almost a year ago, cars are being broken into and people don’t clean up after their pets. Just do yourself a favor and find a different place.
Although the outdoor property is mostly quiet and well maintained for its age, the apartments have a musty smell that never goes away. The air conditioning is so old it still needs to be "charged" and still doesn't work like a modern day unit. The bathroom lighting and exhaust fans are wired together on a single switch so that a normal hairdryer blows the circuit when used on a high setting. The trash areas are always a disaster, the mailbox locks dont work properly and often come open on their own. The pool is tiny and the hours/days are VERY limited. And the upstairs neighbors were a constant annoyance stomping back and forth on the hardwood which was NOT 80% covered by area rugs and pads as is required in the lease. They also had parties which ended in fights and the police had to be called several times. When I asked to switch units I was told that there would be a transfer fee AND I would have to sign another year long lease, NO THANKS!!! I moved in with a friend after three months here.
