Despite the city of Austin’s alluring amenities and buzzing downtown area, not every renter is looking to live in the heart of a city. The suburbs of north Austin have become increasingly popular with neighborhoods like Hunter’s Chase providing plenty of convenience, just in a slightly less busy setting.
Large lots and well-manicured lawns make Hunter’s chase a picturesque suburb. There’s a variety of single-family homes and apartments to fit any budget or style. The neighborhood itself has access to three well-maintained parks, as well as one of the city’s most popular attractions, the Austin Aquarium. Shopaholics delight at Lakeline Mall, with a variety of stores and restaurants providing endless entertainment just minutes away from your new home.
Downtown Austin is still close. The city is just 15 miles south via I-35, putting all the attractions of the city just a short drive away.

Property Ratings at Hunters Chase
When we move out of this complex, our nightmare will finally be over. Just got off the phone with Stephanie, who first had an attitude because she "has been trying to get a hold of us for days" and by try she means a single email that just reiterates our lease renewal offer. Doesn't even say please contact us, just if you don't you will go month to month. So with her first actual call for us, berates because we didn't respond to an email that we didn't have too. She then tells us that our month to month rent will go up every single month to "keep up with Austin's competitive housing market" If this complex wanted to compete with the rest of the market, it would actually have good amenities, they would respond to maintenance requests quicker than 2 months, they would DO SOMETHING ABOUT THE BURNT DOWN BUILDING THAT HAS BEEN THERE FOR HALF A YEAR WHICH HAS AN ACTIVE ANIMAL AND HOMELESS PROBLEM, would clean up the broken glass and condoms in the parking lot, and would have a friendly attitude when talking to their residents not just potential residents. It doesn't help that the manager Michelle is unprofessional, rude and doesn't have the right attitude to be working with people. Kindness goes a long way but that doesn't seem to be something she's familiar with

Such a gorgeous community! All staff is respectful and polite, the apartments are beautiful and spacious at a great price, and the apartments are located near everything I need! Highly recommend!!
I lived here for 6 years and I let me tell you, I am going to miss this place. The staff was so friendly and would address any issues that arose and would even inform me if there was a delay with maintenance. The apartments are a bit older, yes, but they work super hard in maintaining the grounds and keeping it professional looking and modern. Parking lots were never crowded and there was ample space to park your vehicle. The staff is always energetic and excited to help. Shout out to Gayla because she is amazing and takes pride in helping her tenants. Thank you Hunters Chase for a great living experience for 6 years!
These apartments are awful. The walls are very thin so you hear everything going on outside including the dumpsters being serviced at 3 AM every THURSDAY. Like why would you have your dumpsters serviced at 3 AM??????????????. I can hear everything the person above me is doing from talking on her phone, listening to her dog run around, and even her having intercourse. Maintenance is terrible. Apartments are so old the ceiling fans aren't wired into ceiling. Come it's time for a tear down!!!

Worst apartment complex in north Austin. Horrible customer service from the property supervisor Karen and the front office. Rats, roaches, noisy neighbors, and horrible experiences with seeing up to prostitutes on the property. It’s more affordable compared to most but trust that it’s not worth it.

If you're reading this and considering this place just DON'T. For the love of everything that's holy spend the extra money at a halfway decent place, not this motel of an apartment complex. Here's a quick list of all the terrible stuff in this complex from the 2 years i've lived here. 1. The walls are thinner than paper. 2. The windows are single pane therefor you can hear EVERYTHING that goes on the outside of the apartment from people starting their cars to some one talking outside 3. The complex was built around 1984, which I can prove by the date stamped on the underside of the bar in the kitchen and the refrigerator and dish washer are from the 80's as well 4. Electricity bill can be confusingly high sometimes due to the single pane windows, poor insulation, and extremely dated A/c units 5. The water is allotted by building so if you barely use it and you're never home, too bad its going to be anywhere from 40-60$ 6. Some of the management are really rude 7. The ceiling fans have the wires running on the outside of the wall plugged in to an outlet and look like a pile of hot garbage 8. The "freshly" painted rooms and doors were done terribly so whenever you open a closed door the paint makes a cracking sound from it sticking to each side. 9. The showers randomly go from normal temperature to screaming hot or freezing cold depending on what the shower valve feels like doing at that point in time. And this goes for both showers. 10. The shower head is eye level to me (5'-10") therefor you either have to get close to it or get creative with the angle to not have water shoot all over the bathroom floor from the increased angle ^ Edit: To management, i dont want to call your stupid phone number just to hear you gripe about the way things are. Its all unacceptable in 2018 and I will advertise to EVERYONE that this place is a joke and should be avoided like the plague.

I lived at Hunters Chase Apartments for 12 of my 15 month lease and had to pay to leave my lease early because of how horrible these apartments are. They are rat and roach infested. Not only did we have one rat, but an entire rat infestation. My roommate and I couldn’t leave the dog food out in their bowl for the dogs because of the rats. They would scratch and chew holes into bags of food. We also had roaches severely. We brought both issues to Hunter Chase’s attention repeatedly. It took months for pest control to come and a man who showed up had a spray can. He also didn’t spray any other units, so that never got better. Never mind trying to have a follow up, it was nearly impossible to have pest control the first time. When we let Hunters Chase know about the rats, we received one sticky trap. ONE. The trap was placed under the sink after we had told them where we suspected rats were coming into the apartment. These places were not sealed off. We could also hear them in the walls and the ceiling. There were times I woke up in the night because of animals chasing the rats in the ceiling. Your water is also connected to everyone in your building, so if your neighbor flushes while you’re in the shower, get ready to be scalded. Upon giving our notice, the apartment complex LOST our notice when I was working to sign a new lease. I had to call them repeatedly for them to track it down and tell my new complex that we had given notice. Now that we have moved out, Hunters Chase wants to charge us $200 for a carpet cleaning. After living with rats and roaches? No.

We are current residents. Ya the rent was cheap when we moved in but the price has gone up to more than it's worth. You can rent a nicer place for what they are asking now. There are spots in the floor under the carpet that are probably rotten because the boards sink in when you step on them. When we moved in it looked like they just painted over everything including the last tenant's hair. Eww. Our A.C. has gone out at least 6 times since we moved in as year and a half ago and we are battling a mold problem now. I would not recommend this place to any one who unless your standard are extremely low.
A few weeks ago, I found the contents of a girl's purse in the drainage area behind buildings 34/33 area. I found the person and I returned her passport, social security card, voter ID, ect to her. She told me her purse had been stolen. After that, in the same are behind those buildings, I found a backpack, but the driver's license inside it had a Round Rock address. This time, I brought the backpack to the management building and told them what had happened and that I believed it was also stolen. Then, today, in the same area, I found 2 different Amazon packages, one addressed to somebody who lives in the complex and another with an outside address. I dropped them off at the management building and called 311 to report it. 311 said they would contact APD and they did. I got a call back but they never sent an officer out. Before this, I would occasionally find packages or items back there but it did not occur to me that they maybe stolen items until I recovered the contents of the purse. So, this has been going on probably over a month by now. It is very obvious to me that there is somebody stealing people's belongings and stashing the things they don't want behind those buildings. Everybody I have spoke with has been very apathetic and has not offered any kind of solution. This is very troubling and I think the management here should take action to ensure resident's safety.
I first moved here and sure the rent is cheap. I guess you get what you pay for. I complained about my balcony for months and found out it was missing a support beam for 6 months. I could have fell through and hurt myself. I complained and tried to reason with them about the safety but nothing seems to work. Maybe some day I actually get a new balcony. My next move may be the code enforcement....but I should have to go that far for a valid complaint.
At first glance, these apartments are a steal for the low rent you pay, but stick around and you'll find yourself living somewhere that makes you hate where you live daily. We have lived here for a year now. I'll start with the "amenities". There are none. Austin recently cracked down on all pools violating city ordinances this last spring, as such the pools have been closed since around March. We were not told why, we were not given any information about when they might reopen, and when we press for more information they simply say the City closed it down and they're "working on it." It's been fairly clear to us lately, as the temperature now regularly hits 100, they are doing nothing to fix the issue. The maintenance guys go in and clean it to keep up appearances, and the fountain is still running to attract new tenants, but we are out our pools, and as such also out our fitness center since the entrance is through the pool area. If you live on the first floor, the apartments claim it's hardwood floors, but it's really an ancient and poorly made laminate that sort of looks like wood and tears and dents if you even look at it funny. The counter tops should all have been replaced long ago, but instead they "renovated" them with paint. Everything is painted; all the cabinets, the old sink, and the old tub. You'll also want to replace the shower-head immediately upon move-in as what they give you would make a motel embarrassed. The porches look like they're rotting, or are infested with termites. We complained about the fact that the upstairs railing appears to be separating from the actual porch, it looks like it's in the process of being a deadly accident waiting to happen, but were told by management that "it's structurally sound and unlikely to actually be an issue". Long story short, You will not like it here. Everyone is breaking the pet agreements, everything is trashed, dirt clogs up some of the parking spaces, the buildings are showing their age and the apartments themselves make you miserable.
Older Appartment Complex. Great price for this area. If you don't have high expectations - you will like the place. Construstion is not impressive, but appartment is big and spacious. Yes, floor is uneven, and there seem to be some small holes in a flooring that are not fixed, just covered with a carpet. Inexpensive cabinets, bathtub and sinks have regular white paint, like if some stains were just painted over. Otherwise, maintenance is great, quickly responds, all staff is polite and addresses any issues
So far the Hunter's Chase Apartments have been relatively nice. I have been here only a year but it's been a quiet year. There's really no noise or loud parties which I have found from other places I've rented. They are very pet friendly as well. I see people walking their dogs at all hours of the day and night so this area seems relatively safe. My only grievance would be the lack of a pool. Actually that is not entirely true...there is a pool and a very nice pool to add. The only issue is that we're in the hottest part of summer and it hasn't been open all season long. What good is paying for the use of a pool that never gets used. It's nice to look at but as far as actually getting to swim and enjoy the cool water.....never going to happen. The irony is that during the winter...it was open. How odd.
Hi. I'm a current resident at this property for bout lil over a yr. I move to this property b/c it was close to work. At the time the price was very reasonable. But due the lack of no upgrades ex..It's all wood old cracky rotten dull painting. The swimming pool broke half the summer poor kids. The ceiling fans are out dated ,there is a cord from the ceiling to the wall that goes into an outlet. The manager very rude. ..And the price now 850 for smallest one bedroom...
