Property Ratings at Hunter's Crossing
Property manager doesn’t know how to communicate. They never respond to emails or answer your questions in a timely manner and have to ask them multiple times to get a response.
they haven't fixed the pot holes in over a year and they never clean the laundry room. Laundry room allways has broken machines
I lived here from 2021 to 2023 and every single review is 100% accurate. Front office staff is nice, when they are actually in the office which is not often. Half of the laundry machines are broken, we reported the broken machines to both the front office and through the management service listed on the machines. The entire 2 years we were there, none of them got fixed. There were 2 different fires that displaced tenants in 2023 alone. They used to be one of the few complexes that allowed pets, but it appears they are no longer allowing animals to live there. When they did, people would not pick up after their pets, even after multiple notices to do so. But the worst things were the driveways and package theft. There is minimal security available, making it laughably easy for packages to get stolen. And the potholes are so bumpy they belong at Lake Compounce as a ride. It takes them ages to fill the holes, and every season the filled spaces get torn up by the plowing company. The apartments themselves feature large sliding glass doors which leak water in heavy rain, make the entire unit incredibly drafty, and the weather stripping in our unit was torn to shreds and moldy. We reported this but nothing was done. Also, it's electric heat so be prepared for $200+ monthly bills for the small square footage available. It's such a shame, because the layouts are decent but they're in such a state of disrepair. I'd say look elsewhere for a deal, but these units are so expensive now they're not a deal to begin with. Do not live here unless you want busted tires from the driveway, to never get your packages because they get stolen, and to never be able to do your laundry and have the machines take your money and not work. And to add salt to the wound, the back of of the complex has very few visitor spaces. If you have company over, they will get towed. The tow company is incredibly overzealous with towing people, no sticker and not in a visitor spot? Towed. Immediately. No matter how short of a time your visitor is there. "Just park in the visitor spaces", back half of the complex has *7* visitor spots for 200+ units. I can't believe how expensive this complex has gotten with how awful of a living experience it is to be there. I'd give it 0 stars if I could.
These reviews are accurate. When I moved in I asked about the bad reviews and I was told they were just angry tenants and there was new management. Both are true! The tenants have every right to be angry and there is new management. The hallways are disgusting, the laundry room is dirty, bugs everywhere even inside the washers. The apartment itself is nice but they don't have staff so good luck getting anything fixed or speaking to anyone. There has been a few foul play fires this year and police are always being called. Overpriced & unkept. GO ANYWHERE ELSE!
I was looking for a cheaper place, and I got what I paid for. "Totally renovated" meant appliances and toilet were dirty. It took 3 days to get it clean. Yep, I paid rent for those 3 days. Then neighbor spilled food (or vomited) in front of my door, and after a week, and them closing my work order, I had to clean it myself. If you have dogs, forget living here... cigarette butts, trash, and broken glass everywere. Hallways never get cleaned/vacuumed. Maintenance never shows up when they say, and leaves behind a mess. When they renovate a unit, building materials are thrown in the grass and stay there. I currently have 2 kitchen sink sprayers in my back yard. Oh and my upstairs neighbor just got a treadmill so for an hour+ I have listen to THAT over my living room every night. I regret moving here and am looking forward to the next 11 months flying by!
Poor property management. Unresponsive. unwilng to work with tenants and their expiring leases. form of communication is droping letters at people's doors rather than calling, emailing, or mailing. they don't value privacy and are terrible at communicating.
The worst management ever, the dirtiest laundry ever, save your money and look for another place.
Property Manager at Hunter's Crossing, Responded To This Review
Your feed back is valued and being handled and we will look into this. Thank you
Pictures don’t do it justice, it’s a dump. New management is terrible, you’ll be lucky to even get an Emil’s back. Maintenance is unreliable. That pool in the pictures… not open, I wouldn’t go in it personally even if it were. Roof top patios are cool until your roof is leaking for weeks at a time without management response. Amazon packages aren’t safe and neither is your car while we’re harassed by a tow company.
Property management shows up late and leave early. They fail to respond to emails/calls in a timely manner. Completly unprofessional and unwilling to work with the tenant.
The worst part is not the high rent, or countless potholes, but the fact that you can't order something without it being stolen upon delivery.
Rents are way above local levels and they increase the lease yearly regardless of conditions. Wouldn't be suprised if they had a large vaccancy rate. Cheaper to own a local house than the rates they charge to rent even for a studio.
Since I've lived here there has been a murder in one of the apartments, roof leakage, numerous potholes, and poor maintenance during snowstorms. Apartments have high turnover, and the owner is unwilling to negotiate lease terms even with dependable tenants that have been there for years. So, expect your lease to increase every year.
Non-responsive management/maintenance, dead rats in pool when it’s open (usually broken), potholes everywhere, garbage overflowing from dumpsters regularly, paper thin walls, dog poop everywhere, filthy laundry room.…. This place is disgusting and the management changes constantly. They also have a reputation for not returning security deposits.
Hunter Crossing has potholes and uneven pavement all around the facility (parking lot, entrance drive in, ete). Every summer they poorly repair for new resident showing and every winter they reappear. During the snow season, they wait until last minute to shovel and push the snow onto resident’s cars. The parking lot and entrance driveway freezes over, and causes slippery conditions. The entrance driveway and mail location floods when it rains. The appliances provided are very old. There is no fire extinguishers or water sprinkling system in the apartment complex. The house is not up-kept nor well insulated, which causes for high electric bills. The pool was closed, the volley ball court is unkept, and there’s no pet play area. A light pole fell down multiple months ago and no one has taken action to fix it. Moreover, there is no lighting on the property during night. The common walkways in each building are dirty and unkept. Leasing management team claims they are not responsible for the washer/dryer facility provides onsite. If you file or contact them with a compliant they will tell you to contact the responsible party. In addition, claim they are not responsible for the towing truck taking your car off the facility for multiple reasons. The management team is rude and doesn’t respect the lease signed. They change what is agreed upon on the lease without notifying the residents. They do not respond in a timely manner or completely ignore you. Lastly, they use an external website that requires you to pay a convenience fee for paying the rent online. It’s been two month since I moved out and haven’t received my security deposit back.
Condition of the apartments is terrible. One month after moving in, I had a severe leak in my ceiling that led to half of my apartment being unusable for over a month. For some reason the roofs are flat on the buildings so the snow builds up on them during the winter and causes many peoples ceilings to cave in. Management is terrible, they are never available, the property manager is never in the office and their office hours are from 9-4 Monday-Friday which makes no sense. If you work first shift they’ll never be available to you (that’s even if they show up to the office in the first place). The parking lot needed to be redone 30 years ago and they just do terrible patch jobs. There’s potholes everywhere. The pool isn’t even functioning. The walls are paper thin and you can hear everything. The place is falling apart. Maintenance isn’t on site so if you have an emergency, they won’t show up for at least an hour. Save your time, money and energy and look elsewhere
