Property Ratings at Hunters Glen
We filled out a pet screening form and we’re told once that is filled out we will be given a copy of the lease to sign. That never came back and we got a paper notice on the day the lease was over saying we need to go to the office. We were told if we signed all the paperwork before 6:00 pm, we won’t get charged any extra fees and everything will be fine. Well we finished the paperwork before 6:00 pm and still got charged a fee. My wife went to speak to the manager in the phone who told us since we filled it out last second we still got charged. This is not what they told us. They specifically said before 6:00 pm we would be fine. They didn’t answer our phone calls and my wife went to see them at the office. My wife just wanted an explanation as to why we were charged a fee after doing every f we were told to do. The office employee screamed at my wife, slammed the door, and then proceeded to call the police. She just wanted to know why they had no communication with us about what we were supposed to do and instead we had the police called on her and doors slammed in her face. This is beyond unprofessional. Everyone’s rent is going up and this is how we get treated?

Hello, Thank you for your review and feedback. I apologize if anyone from my team was disrespectful to you. Let me investigate this further and I will certainly be in touch. ~ Jessica, Community Manager
We lived at Hunter's Glen for a three years, with no major issues until we changed units to a larger unit, then left. They usually refused to even come look at our air conditioning, and the one time they sent maintenance out, all he did was check that the air coming out of the vent was cooler than the room temperature. We spent an entire summer with 90 degree indoor temps before we left. Upon leaving, we received a bill from a debt collector at our new address for fees of $300 that were assessed on us after not renewing our lease. Management says it's standard procedure for them, and that they just immediately sell the debt to a debt collector. We never got our deposit back either, even though we left both units spotless and without damage. Steer clear of this place, they won't fix your legitimate problems and will charge you whatever they want after you leave. Great place to move three families into a one-bedroom and run a trap house though.

I apologize this was your experience with our community. We are currently under new management and have plans for changes and renovations to the community. Please email me at huntersglen@maderaresidential.com for any concerns you might have. Thank you, Jessica, Community Manager
I have been here since March 2020. Yes, there are issues but one has to be patient. The management company changed, processes changed with that. They replaced my stove a little later after I moved into 2bed/2bath from 1bed/den/1bath. There have been ups and down but as I mentioned they do get to your needs. I have peace of mind living here. Location, safety. The maintenance workers are very accommodating and respectful. Of Course, you cant get all that you want. Hoping I am able to renew on middle grounds for another year. Thanks to all the office staff.

We appreciate your support for our team and your understanding throughout our recent management changes. It is great to know that our team has met your expectations, and we look forward to continuing to provide you with a positive living experience.
I’ve lived here two years and will not be renewing my lease. The price looks nice but what you save there will be put into electricity bills. My A/c has been broken all summer on and off instead of fixing the problem they patch it up so it breaks down at least once a week. When I moved in my dishwasher didn’t work it took 2 months to get a new one. The hot water has always been an issue. The pool is closed down already. The staff is not helpful and doesn’t seem to care even if your apartment is 90 degrees. Poor living conditions would suggest never living here.

This place is disgusting. It’s painfully evident they’ve neglected proper maintenance of this complex for years and years, and are only recently putting the equivalent of a bandaid over all of its flaws. I haven’t had A/C in over 3 months, regardless of how many times I’ve requested it be fixed. Did they lower my cost of rent because of it? I think you can answer that yourself. The front office staff simply seem to not care. Do not move here.

We are very sorry you are having issues with your AC. We care about your comfort, and we know proper cooling is essential during these hot summer months. Could you please call or visit the office so we can talk and make the necessary arrangements? We look forward to increasing your comfort.
Don't think of renting this place. The staff is mad, horrible. They just yell for timely rent and 2 months advance notice. On Maintenence they are - 10000 rating(Negative) Every other issue with appliances Structure is 40+ years old Staff response to the issues is : 0000000000000000

We are disappointed to read your feedback which doesn't reflect our typically high standards. We are eager to restore your confidence, so please contact our office with your specific concerns and any ways we can improve your experience.
This place don't hold respect for it's peoples opinion, when faced with technical issue or any kind of problem, the worker/ supervisor gave me ridiculous solutions to my problem and didn't even pay attention to my situation. In addition, they have materials such as AC , fridge , windows, etc. Dating 30 yrs old, which is prove enough that how self deluded they are about their apartment. Therefore, you don't matter, your opinion doesn't matter to them because they only want to prolong the lifespan of this barren!! and Rotten place consuming of hideous customer care.

This apt community has a history of responding well to maintenance requests.
Good price for location, though things are a bit dated in the apartment, doors that dont shut, or stick badly. Overall worth it.
Property Manager at Hunters Glen, Responded To This Review
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Please feel free to contact our office for any additional concerns so that we can earn 5 stars! Thank you again!
Living there for about 4 years. Moving there during the bad time of divorce. Staffs are super friendly. Pam is one of the manager, she is caring and very effective. Appreciated! Apartment is older but locate at the most convenient location and is spacious, only older apartment built at the time can be so spacing with cover parking spot and huge patio. It is different and make no sense to compare with the brand new apartment. So, if you compare the rate with the space and location, Hunter's Glen is a great deal living in the center of best Plano. Community is very diverse but very quiet and safe. You learn to understand people from many other places can nicely live together. During the four years, I have never had one time got broke into the apartment or anyone bothers me at night while walking around the apartment. Now is time for me to move on, I am leaving there to build a new family. I consider Pam and Hunter's Glen a friend and family to provide me a super safe and nice place when I need the most at the price I can afford. Good conversation takes two parts. They are nice people, talk with them, they already take care requests the best they can. I had a squirrel issue on the roof took them sent people over 6 times to get it resolved. You know they do care.
Property Manager at Hunters Glen, Responded To This Review
We are so happy you loved living with use! Thank you for the awesome rating!
Like I said. I call for a maintenance request and manager don’t care. I believe they need to hire more maintenance people.
Maintenance is spotty not due to the working staff but the hit or miss care
Have been living at HG for over 3 years. I need to be in this location and it comes with a better cost if you catch it at the right time. Rents are forever fluctuating. My biggest gripe is that the A/C is pretty crappy for TX heat. I think the units are not adequate for the apartment sizes. I see a huge variety of a/c units around the buildings and I know the apartments sizes of some of them, there's no way they are adequate. Texas law supposedly states that the apartment has to be able to be 20 degrees cooler than outdoors. OK 100 outside 80 inside really sucks! No comfort there. Fast forward to 2019 summer. 95 outside 83 to 85 inside. Can't get it any better than that after 3pm. That lingers on until very late at night or early morning. It's always cools off sometime after I've gone to sleep but GETTING to sleep is often a miserably overheated experience. During the afternoon hours, when it's hottest outside, forget it! The windows are OLD and VERY drafty........cold in the winter and obviously making it hotter in the summer! I agree with previous reviews about the outdated appliances as well. These stoves are extremely outdated. I can manage with the old dishwasher and as long as the fridge works I'm ok, but I sure wish my windows were more efficient and my air conditioning unit did what I would like it to do, considering I'm paying the electric bill. I shouldn't have to suffer in the summer but I find myself very uncomfortable in my own place on a daily basis for several hours every day. Window a/c units would do a better job!!!! There are a LOT of kids here and often very screamy. If you're lucky enough to get an apartment with out a play area too close it might not be too bad. I would always recommend a top floor when at all possible to avoid having kids bouncing around above you. That's hard to tolerate. Parking lots are a bit of a mess. They did fix up the property somewhat, by painting the buildings a boring color and I guess in some areas they repainted the lines. They SHOULD resurface the parking lots because they are beat UP in many areas. Slippery and sometimes dangerous when wet.

Plano is gorgeous, the office staff is the best we'??ve ever experienced and the apartments are awesome!
Property Manager at Hunters Glen, Responded To This Review
Thank you so much for the awesome review. We appreciate it so much!
Yes: if looking for a good value, low customer service, and a good location No: if looking for quiet complex, need lots of customer service, or looking for a gated community
The rent is priced very fairly and it's central Plano location is very ideal.
the parking lot is the number one problem for me. if they would spend the money we are giving them to concrete the lot like 90 percent of all the other complexes in plano. no more potholes anymore
The complex is extremely old and nothing is being upgraded. They recently made cosmetic upgrades (repainting buildings, resurfacing pools and some landscaping) and call that "renovations" but your appliances will be 20 years old and falling apart. All of the windows are original from 40 years ago and do not open, close or lock properly. You are given screw clamps to put on them as "locks" because the original locks don't function at all. I wonder how rental insurance providers would feel about that if they knew. Because the windows are so energy inefficient and the air conditioners are almost all 30 years old, your electric bills will easily be double what you would pay at any other apartments in Plano. I pay $160 - $170/mnth during the summer for a 700sq ft apartment and I know others that pay more. The staff blames the weather and the tenants as usual for having too high of expectations. They claim the AC is only designed to cool to 20 degrees below outside temp, which of course is complete non-sense. And you're lucky if you can get it to cool that much. The reason is the 40 year old piece of crap AC unit and the 40 year old windows that don't even close properly. Friends of mine that live in apartments in Plano routinely pay about half what I do in electric bills and they have no issue cooling their apartment to 75 when it's 105 outside. The pools are routinely closed by the city because they are a health hazard. Pinnacle refuses to provide professional pool maintenance which results in constantly nasty, disgusting pools. One neighbor worked for a pool company and had testing equipment and showed me how unhealthy the water was most of the time and why the city routinely shuts them down. He moved out at the end of his first lease. At Hunter's Glen you will get: Extremely old appliances, windows, AC/Heat and very high electric bills. If your appliance fails they won't replace it with new, they will find one in another apartment that is old and barely working and give you that instead Very cheap builders grade fixtures and flooring and carpet Doors and windows that don't open, shut or lock properly Parking area that is a maze of pot-holes and in constant state of disrepair No play ground for children, so they use the tennis courts making them unusable for anyone wishing to play actual tennis No storage closets like most other apartments have Unusable pools because they are in a constant state of uncleanliness

YES
Unit I saw is in need of updating. Kitchen cupboards small, no microwave, apartment seemed dark - lacked natural lighting.
The entire staff is friendly and exhibits professionalism. I would highly recommend Hunters Glen apartments as a pleasant place to live.
1. My water heater has been out since before the new year and eveytime I call the office they put me to the side. Even if its something small to let them know about the buildings. 2. Last year our AC unit went out at least ever week, leading me to call them constantly and you could hear in the ladies voice that she didn't want to hear it again and it upset me because I work hard for the things I can provide for my family. We haven't been able to take warm showers. If I want to shower I have to brace the cold or go to my neighbors. This is unacceptable from an apartment complex. You should listen and try to understand the problems they are having, not 'here's how to manually reset it.' No! I am not paying for some used units that I have to go outside and physically reset. Do your job Hunters Glen staff. Get up and fix my building. #33

Love the maintenance personnel but I actually tell my friends not to rent here since it's 85-90 in my apt. in the summer and 65 in the winter. NONE of my friends would ever live here. They all keep telling me to leave.
I was surprised at how quickly my service request was answered. As requested a new lock was installed and a receipt of what was done was left on the counter.
Friendly and efficient office staff, the apartment is in good condition and the area is just what I was looking for.
Though the establishment is a bit old, if you get the right apartment, then I believe Hunter's Glen is a fine place to live.
It's quiet! Maintenance is quick. Never had an issue here and office staff and been pleasant! Moving in process was quick and smooth
grounds are not kept up compared to other complexes . trees are over grown and not trimmed. tree branches break and may take a month to be removed. pot holes. no grass and muddy.
My boyfriend and I moved into these apartments after having rented a house for two years. We just didn't want to pay such a large deposit that houses require, and the 2 bedroom, 2 bath apartment that we got is actually bigger than our house was! It has a HUGE balcony, and ours is at the back of the complex overlooking a green belt. Ah, peaceful. I had visions of making my balcony into a cabana of sorts, and enjoying evening meals and drinks while looking out over the green. And then the kids came. A family moved in below us about a month after we moved in. And oh...my...goodness. They scream constantly, both indoors and out, at all hours of the day and night. Because the apartments are older, the windows aren't all that insulated and the sound control could definitely be improved upon. I can sit in my apartment with a TV, washer, dryer, dishwasher, and fan, and STILL HEAR THE KIDS SCREAMING. Now, asking them to please stop screaming at 6:30 on Saturday morning didn't help, so we eventually complained to the apartment management. They promptly addressed the issue with a letter to the family as a reminder that apartment living is different than living in a house. When the noise started up again, the apartments took action again. The noise is manageable at the moment. Other than the out of control children below me, the apartment complex is very busy; especially along the back row where we are. People are constantly walking in the middle of the street and someties yell at you if you almost hit them. (I'm sorry, it's dark and you're in all black!) Enough about the neighbors, let's talk about the apartment itself. It's huge! My boyfriend and I have our own separate rooms, and it would be a great set up for roommates. In the master, there is a huge area that could be a walk in closet (if you have tons of clothes, unlike me) or just extra storage. Water heats up quickly and never runs out. I have screened in my porch and can't wait for the weather to cool down a bit so I can use it! It really is a great apartment, just be mindful of the location of your actual unit. See you soon, neighbor!
