Property Ratings at Hunters Lake Apartments
I lived at Hunters Lake for about 2 and a half years until I had to move out prematurely for a job opportunity. The apartments are affordable, spacious, and pretty high quality for the rent. The location is quite nice since you can drive 2 minutes up Howe Rd and have just about anything you need to get to: famous retail stores, fast food, groceries, both chain restaurants and some local spots too! There's a park nearby along with a place with some batting cages, golf range, and a surprisingly good skate park(that was my go-to). What convinced me to write a review was how great the experience was with the people I met there. The community is really nice, a lot of families and some younger people as well, but the staff was honestly so kind to us when we lived there, and were more than willing to help us out when we reached out. The process for ending our lease prematurely was smooth and hardly stressful. Even years later when I've already moved out they've been super helpful for me when dealing with taxes and getting the right information I need. So thanks a lot! I'd highly recommend this place for anyone looking in the area.
I have lived here for 12+ years, certainly longer than I initially planned. Hunters Lake offers many of the things that I want from my living space and any of the issues that I dislike are minimal. The amount of square feet for the cost is probably about the best you will find in this area. I like having large windows on two walls that provide fresh air and cross ventilation. I like being able to strep right outside the door to walk my dog. The patio area is open and offers plenty of space for planters or containers for flowers, space for a grill, seating and table to entertain family & friends. The area is nicely landscaped with lots of green space. Their lawn maintenance Keeps up with mowing and trimming. The grounds are clean and well maintained, including around the dumpster. There are several ponds that attract ducks, geese and a pair of great blue herons that rerun every year. It would be nice if the goose droppings were cleaned up because that is a major complaint of residents. However I watch my young grandchildren who love coming here. We have spent endless hours exploring the ponds, looking for tadpoles or trying to catch frogs, learning about birds, bugs, plant life and the natural rhythms of nature and the cycle of the seasons. They have enjoyed swimming in the pool. The fitness area is small but has newer updated equipment. I love the gas fireplace on cold mornings and the fact that it turns on/off with a switch on the wall. A major benefit for me is having washer dryer hookups, decent size bedroom closets, a linen closet, and a closet under the stairs for storage. I can occasionally hear my neighbors but there is no one above my townhouse. Generally it is very quiet here and the occasional sounds of my neighbor’s shower, disposal use, or the sound of kids or dogs are rare and not worth getting upset over ... I’m sure there are times I’ve interrupted them and I’ve learned a little tolerance can go a long way. The office staff are pleasant, professional and always willing to listen to and address any concerns. The maintenance staff is on site during the week and on call at any other time. They always respond to maintenance requests requests. If it is an emergency they respond immediately. If it’s a routine request they will respond the same day if possible or the next day. They always ask permission to come in the apartment if you aren’t going to be there. That is a really valuable aspect of living here.
After touring two apts here and talking to several residents, I moved into a first floor apt. I was reassured by ofc staff that apts are totally fireproof and quiet. Apparently the residents who live upstairs were not home when I toured the apt because it was quiet. Well, Not only can you hear EVERYTHING the residents are doing upstairs, but you can also hear your next door neighbors. My neighbors above are students who also work odd hours. They are constantly coming and going, making more noise than I thought possible. They do laundry and run the dishwasher in the middle of the night, take showers, etc. and I can hear everything, even when they sneeze! The best part? Probably 75% or more residents have dogs here at Hunters Lake. My neighbors upstairs have a young labrador who is very playful. I can hear her running thru the apt day and night playing catch with her ball, and constantly dropping some type of heavy toy or bone on the floor [sounds like a bowling ball]. Believe me, you get no sleep when the dogs awake. I have told one of the girls that I can hear everything but they couldn’t care less. These buildings were cheaply made with no sound proofing. If I had known this I never would have moved here.
Great place to live! Lived here for about a year while I worked in Akron, it was a nice commute. It was nice and quiet during the day for me to sleep since I worked night shift. Even offered a discount for after my dog got her canine good citizen title. The staff here are wonderful and very helpful! I would have stayed if I didn't get transferred to a new location.
Overall, Hunter's Lake is a great little community. It's quiet and peaceful, with security personnel living on-site. It's spacious, and clean. There are several community features such as a laundry room for those who do not own a washer and dryer, a pool (which is kept clean), exercise room, and fitness trail. There are a few ponds, stocked with fish for some nice quality outdoor time. On to the actual apartment. Upon entering, it was clean, but not perfect. Some minor imperfections...stains left inside the dishwasher and refrigerator. However, we got new carpet, and every unit is equipped with ADT security so residents can have piece of mind. We called the office for some minor fixes, and they were there same day. These people care about their tenants. We feel welcome to voice our concerns and we feel safe in our new home, which is close to local shopping, dining, and entertainment. Overall, I'm very glad to be here!
This apartment is a great place to live. The outdoor space is nice and relaxing. The area is quiet and friendly. Animals are welcomed and seen throughout the different paths. the pond also allows for a nice view and recreational activities. The apartments themselves are comfortable and quaint. I really enjoy living here and highly recommend it for those looking for a comfortable life.
The apartment itself is a good quality place, very clean and pretty spacious for a couple of people. The kitchen is a little small, but the rooms and bathrooms are put together well. The staff is very friendly. Great community with plenty of amenities, like fishing, tennis, volleyball, and basketball courts! It's central to plenty of places to shop and eat! Great place, and the utilities are cheap! I highly recommend this complex!
I have been in my apartment for 1 week and love it here. It is so relaxing, conveniently located. Chapel Hill is only a few minutes away. Looking forward to exploring the area and taking advantage of all perks associated with living here.
Apartment is nice and clean. Staff is friendly.i like that apartment.
Moved in during fall special (no deposit, $125 off rent) Apt was very clean, brand new carpet. Area is very quiet despite being so close to Chapel Hill. Office staff was right on top of everything. For the money, it can't be beat.
