Canterbury is a tranquil residential community in the southwestern suburbs of Mobile, about ten miles from Downtown. The low-key setting is notable for its lush tree cover and extensive sidewalks, creating a perfect environment for leisurely strolls around the neighborhood. Most of the apartment options can be found around the northwest corner of Canterbury, with single-family homes being more common elsewhere. Mobile Regional Airport and the University of South Alabama are both just a short drive to the north, and easy access to Highway 90 and I-10 puts you just minutes away from the city center as well as the Mobile Aeroplex, making Canterbury a great choice for commuters.

Property Ratings at Hunters Pointe
Maintenance is horrible. Lots of drug activity. No-one cares about anything. The pool is nasty. Office staff is nice but again they don’t fix things up. The water bills are ridiculous. Keep looking there is a better place.
So pleased! Every community in Mobile was on a waiting list at the time I applied for an apartment. Hunter's Pointe had the earliest availability, and Lauren in the office was so patient with me while I waited on a unit. I moved into the apartment sight unseen from Mississippi, and I can say it's been nothing but pleasant since I arrived. Lease signing was simple and quick, the apartment is clean and cute and QUIET. No noise from the parking lots, no trash, dumpsters are empty, grass is maintained. I couldn't be happier with my new home, especially for the price. Thank you, Hunter's Pointe! So happy to be home.
I have lived here almost 3 years and haven't had any problems. It's a great place to live with great staff. The prices are reasonable and I think you will love living here.
It is quiet and calm here, I enjoy living here very much. The maintenance are friendly and the office staff is great! We’ve been here for awhile now and I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice quiet place to call home.
The current rent listed is out of date. They increase every year and has not done any updates in these apartments in years. I have been having issues with my sewer and water and the only thing they do is send out the maintenance man and he snakes the toilet. There are two people in my apartment and my water is $90 to $100 a month. It is not worth staying here.
Property Manager at Hunters Pointe, Responded To This Review
Thank you for taking the time to submit a review for Hunter's Pointe. We are sorry for any inconvenience that may have been caused to you by a rent increase. Updates were underway and have been completed since this post. We do not know of any upcoming increases at this time. I would also like to apologize for not being able to assist more with your water/sewer bill. This bill is calculated and sent out by the water company and pricing is unfortunately not up to us. When sending the maintenance to check for leaks, debris in pipes and/or to snake the toilet; we ensure that the water/sewer costs are not a fault of our own. If we were to find any such issue, rest assured, that our maintenance staff would fix the problem immediately. If you are still a resident here at Hunter's Pointe, we thank you for being loyal to our community. If you are no longer residing here but are looking to move soon, feel free to stop by our office and allow us to show you the new updates we have done.
"If you want to be completely miserable and abosultely HATE where you live, deal with miscommunication, very poor management! and live in a Dump, this is the place for you!

I just moved back to Mobile, Alabama 2 months ago and I am loving where I stay. This is the first apartment that I have lived in that I feel safe and secure. The management team seem to genuinely care for their tenants. I love my balcony, just walk out the door and it's like you have your own private section in which to relax. The lawn and trash maintenance is keep up to part weekly. There is a beautiful swimming pool in which to cool off, Mobile, Alabama is a very hot, humid, and sticky place to live.
It's really hard to find a place where you can call home besides "mom & dad place". Living here these past three years have been absolutely wonderful! The atmosphere is friendly, quite, safe, beautiful, clean, and more importantly cost efficient. I'm happy and bless to have a wonderful place to call home, where the whole staff treats you like family. I truly appreciate the friendly. So if your looking for a home away from home, please come by Hunters Pointe where here we leave "The Light On"!
Tenant friendly design. Bedrooms are not a wall away from adjacent apt's bedroom with only 1 ft. separating headboards. Friendly staff, clean laundry room and grounds.Quite neighborhood, good location. Repairs and upgrades are lackluster and another dumpster is needed. Rent is reasonably affordable.
Our apartments are very quiet which I love and the staff is very friendly..but no matter how clean you are there is a bug problem.. I constantly clean and take out trash trying to avoid the situation. There are Nats coming through the drains. And bugs and ants come from nowhere.
Hunters Pointe has given me a great 1st time apartment experience. Being out on my own for the 1st time, I have found a sense of quietness, a friendly staff who make sure all issues are resolved, and an affordable place I can call my own. The neighborhood is an ideal place to raise a family and also be close to anything necessary for everyday living. I'm ecstatic that I made Hunters Pointe my choice and would highly recommend it to anyone in the future.
I've been in my apartment a year and a half. It's a great value compared to other apartments in the West Mobile area. The two bedroom is more affordable than most one bedroom apartments in the area. I love the location. Off the beaten path on a nice quiet road but also very convenient to all areas of Mobile and the interstate. The office staff and maintenance crew are all very kind. They are older apartments that look a bit more run down on the outside but only a few aesthetic issues inside. Some apartments have wood floors which are very nice if you have to clean up after children or pets. If you don't mind not having all of the extra amenities like fitness centers or business centers, that most people don't use anyway, I'd highly recommend it.
Hunter's Pointe Apartment is a nice quiet community. I chose to move to this location because of the school district for my child My job is about 10 minutes away. Grocery stores is plentiful along with several fastfood restarants. I originally had the thought of moving into the apartment with the intentions of staying only a year and after the year I was going to look for another apartment, but due to the many different convenient aspect of the apartment. Here I am a year still here with no intentions of moving. Hunters Pointe is home where the heart is because the property management and staff are courteous, friendly and respectable.
I have lived in this apartment complex 3 different times for a total of 12 years. All the neighbors are extremely friendly and all of the kids go to school together. The office staff is very courteous no matter what. If there is any little problem or even big problem the maintenance crew gets it fixed fast but correct. They are pretty good sized apartments great for younger families with a small income. The pool is very relaxing and everyone has so much fun there.
Hunters Pointe apartment is one of the cheapest apartments that you will find in a good part of Mobile. There are pros and cons to living at any apartment but here the pros out weigh the cons. Pros: Management and Maintenance is very good with responding to any issue very quickly (within 2 days). The apartments are old but very well maintained. As for noise it is very quiet here. No loud children and no people just hanging outside. Safety is not an issue here either. There have been no crime (as far as I know) since I have been here. The location is great. It's centrally located so you have access to either Tillman's corner or airport blvd within minutes. Plus if you get hungry late at night there are plenty fast food restaurants near by. Cons: The main issue with these apartments is the insulation. There is none!! I would recommend an upstairs apartment if possible to anyone thinking of moving here because you do not want to get placed underneath someone with heavy feet or children (they play and run as children do). And that's pretty much the only negative thing. Overall these apartments are great for the price. I would recommend them to anyone.
I love these apartments they are nice on the inside, the price is not to high, and its a quiet neighborhood. It's not to far from shopping and the interstate is not that far away so I feel like they are in a great location.
I have lived at Hunter's Pointe Apartments for 3 years now. I have a one bedroom which is small but I love it. The complex itself is kept clean and maintained. The apartment buildings are old but are also well maintained. If any problems arise the complex manager always handles as soon as possible. The location is great! The drive takes about 15-20 minutes to pretty much every area of the city, so centrally located. There are grocery stores, restaurants and the mall all near by while keeping a semi-secluded feel to the apartments. I am extremely happy here as I have been for the past three years.
At 840 sqft, I love our quaint, charming little 2 br 1 bth apartment. The open floor plan for the living/kitchen /dinning area has a spacious feel while also allowing us, as a family, to be more involved and aware of our surroundings( which is perfect for keeping a close eye on sneaky toddlers lol). The bedrooms are the perfect size with a decent walk in closet in the master. The staff here are very friendly and do an amazing job at keeping this a quiet, clean, safe, and family friendly environment for all the tenants. Living at Hunters Pointe also gives us access to a tennis court, pool area with an additional 1ft kiddie pool, and small children's play area and it is in close proximity to all major stores and restaurants. For apartment living, it is very easy to feel at home here.
I Work Nightshift at a steel mill..and I am just estatic how the environment in this complex is so quite during the day time..eventhough the kids are out for summer school I am still able to get the much needed rest to go in to work, the next night..I love the way they keep the property maintain and I see maintenance picking up trash on a daily basis every morning when I get off from work..I haven't had problems with noise since I have been here 3 1/2 years..and the management is outstanding!!!couldn't and skills for any better management..any time u need something they are johnny on the spot!!
Good sized apartments for the price! Very nice neighbors and amazing office staff! Been great living here for a year now!
I have lived at Hunter's Pointe Apartments for a total of 3 years. One year from August 2011 to August 2012. Currently residing at HP Apartments from June 2013. This apartment complex is so nice and quiet and the apartments themselves are really nice on the inside. It is one of the very few places in Mobile that has the cheapest prices for living somewhere decent. The apartment manager, Beth is so nice. I basically owe my life to her. I lost my son at 8 day old in April of 2014. Ever since then, I have been struggling with paying my rent on time. Not to mention, I was voluntarily laid off of my long time job of over 2 years in March of 2015. So that made matters even worse. I explained my situation to Beth and she has been the most understanding woman ever. I still have a little issues with getting everything caught up but I am really close to it thanks to her. I haven't heard of any apartments managers doing that for their residents. We have a nice pool and new outdoor furniture. HP Apartments are very quick with maintenance as well if you ever have any issues with the apartment. To be honest, in the combined years that I have lived here, I have only asked maintenance to come fix something like 2 or 3 times. This building is in the middle of Hillcrest/Cottage Hill and Tillman's Corner. So you can go either direction and find exactly what you need. Did I mention that it's quiet? Most places, you can't really find that. However, here at Hunters Pointe Apartments, you will a great atmosphere and lovely people.
I am very happy living here and love how affordable it is. Living to paycheck to paycheck is tough. But I make it and still have a great little home!
