A quiet suburb outside of Los Angeles, Monterey Hills is known for its rolling hills, winding residential streets, and elevated city views. Check out Elephant Hill, a popular place to bike or hike that offers beautiful views of the neighborhood. Herman Park is nestled along Highway 110 in the north end of the neighborhood, offering tennis courts, playgrounds, and a dog park. And for more outdoor recreation, visit the biking paths and hiking trails at Ernest E. Debs Regional Park, bordering Monterey Hills.
Monterey Hills is a more secluded part of Northeast Los Angeles with larger lots, single-family homes, and tree-lined streets. However, if you cross over Highway 110, you’ll find theatres, restaurants, services, and more. Monterey Hills is located just seven miles northeast of Downtown Los Angeles and eight miles east of major attractions such as Griffith Park, the Los Angeles Zoo, the Greek Theatre, and Glendale Galleria.

Property Ratings at Huntington Hacienda II Apartment Homes
If I could rate this in the negatives I would. This place is a disaster. The new women in the management team are rude, disrespectful, and lack in communication and people skills. They think they are better than the residents living here and act accordingly. Julian or Jillian or whatever her name is accuses residents of starting "problems" although it has been publicly noted and in the news that there has always been a bed bug issue in the past few years. One resident I spoke to and have known to have lived here for years and has never once had bed bugs until a few months ago is now being accused of starting the whole issue. She argued with said resident for a few minutes saying that that resident doesn't know for sure it wasn't their fault. The elevators never work and are always vandalized. When they do work they are urinated in and disgusting. Thanks to the dogs the other residents have. Mind you, there arent supposed to be pets in there. Many residents who are disabled or elderly some times don't have a way to get out of the apartments because of this issue. There are gang members and drug addicts in the apartments and while the front door of the lobby in the apartments is supposed to be secure and they are supposed to be taking the call box office, it is not. There has been two incidences where men have ran in the apartments running from the police. One most recently ran in who was armed with a gun and the whole street was blocked off. People smoke in the hallways or in their living rooms and it seeps through the windows or open doors and no one says anything to them. Like the other person stated, repairs don't get done unless you have the money to pay for it or are covered by section 8. I would recommend not going here and looking elsewhere for a home at least until they get respectful, businessmen or women who won't discriminate, accuse or instigate.
I have been living here at Huntington Hacienda 2 for 12 years and in the 12 years these apartment are infested with cockroach's some tenants have bed bugs, there is writing on the elevator walls the elevators never work, when u file in a request for repair on pluming or what ever the situation may be it has to be done two or three times. Only the chosen ones get there apartment fix or should I say remodel I say the tenant that have section 8 have their apartments remodeled. The elevator's never work, they go months with out repair not to speak of tenants that r handy cap or the elderly. I believe this place has been sued for broken gates. The laundry room always out of service, never fails it takes your money.
