It would be easy to characterize Gainesville as a pure college town—the University of Florida is home to over 50,000 students in a city of 130,000, and the campus is arguably the defining cultural hub of the community. Between the art exhibitions, concerts, lecture series, and, of course, the wildly popular Gator sporting events, the UF campus culture is a magnet for students, locals, and visitors alike.
But Gainesville has much more to offer than just an electric collegiate atmosphere. The historic Hippodrome State Theatre anchors the thriving Downtown district, which is packed with a vibrant assortment of bars, nightclubs, and restaurants. Local favorites like Flaco’s Cuban Bakery and Volta Coffee attract a steady stream of students and non-students alike at all hours of the day and night.

Property Ratings at Huntington Lakes Apartments

Dear Valued Resident, Thank you for providing your feedback regarding Huntington Lakes. We're so sorry to hear about your loss and we invite you to reach out to our team if you ever need anything. We'll be sure to let the Huntington Lakes team know about your kind words and positive review and we hope you have a wonderful day!
It is amazing that this place is still in business. In the 2 years that I lived at this property, they could not hold an office manager for a month at a time. No one in the office knows what they are doing and to top it off they are extremely rude. Katie has been their longest employee and will blatantly lie to you. This complex will send mass letters and text messages discussing issues that do not even pertain to you. Maintenance request will be done according to their level of importance, if at all. Incorrect fees added to your bill each month which causes you to have to go in person for them to remedy their own mistakes. When we initially moved in there were still holes in the wall from where the previous tenants had placed decor. Now upon moving out, they have sent a bill which includes a $160 painting fee among many other bogus fees. You will never see your security deposit back after leaving this terrible place. The price of living here does not compare to the pure unhappiness you will feel when having to deal with the incompetent office staff. My advice is to run as fast as you can and move somewhere else. For the price of rent, you could afford to rent a nearby house and not encounter as many issues as I have encountered with Huntington Lakes!

Maintenance and staff have been constantly giving me the runaround about getting the refrigerator fixed. The refrigerator door won't shut without slamming it, it builds up ice & leaks, and I'm constantly having to throw away food. No good!
I moved from Texas a few years ago and got my one-bedroom unit at Huntington Lakes Apartments sight unseen. I was pleasantly surprised by a lot of things but mystified by others. The kitchen cabinets are waaaaay over my head (I'm 5-foot-8!). And the bathroom and master closet are very small indeed. But above those two areas, on the upper floor, where I live, is a good-sized storage space. There's also outside storage for bikes and bins. The square footage is generous overall. Other perks include a screened lanai, Italian tile in the kitchen and bath, and updated appliances. The views are hard to beat -- my lanai overlooks a pond with a fountain and lots of trees. I have to say, the landscaping at this complex is impressive. Lots of trees and grass. There's also a trail off the parking lot through an undeveloped area that's very pretty. There are two pools, a carwash area, tennis courts and even a little fire pit for winter get-togethers. In a nutshell: It's an unusual place to live, but I don't feel stressed at all. It's nearly perfect.
I have recently lived here when I was in Florida. The property is always beautiful and the office staff are super helpful and really care. They take the time to make sure you feel at home. I would highly recommend Huntington Lakes to any friend or family member. Close to everything and a perfect escape from it all...
