Property Ratings at Huntington Parc Townhomes
Their homes suffer from poor circulation and ventilation and management will try to blame you or children! Mold will be in your roof! Make sure you have a private inspection in every home you rent, city contractors can only do so much!
The leasing office is terrible, maintenance is terrible, protection of personal information is nonexistent. Save yourself the trouble!

Hi Nisha, we are sorry to see this review from you. Clearly, you have experienced some issues while living in our community. We would greatly appreciate getting to talk with you offline. Please contact us at Huntingtonparc@solomonorg.com or 248-547-9393 at your earliest convenience. Thank you.
If I could leave less than a 1 star I would. I visited this property and was told one thing and was then given a different story. I spoke to current tenants in the community after viewing the property and read some reviews to find out about it being unsafe, and vehicles being broken into. As a result, I rescinded my offer with only a couple days of applying. I gave them a $50 deposit for a wait list. Only to find out they now won't give that back to me as I won't be moving in now. I I specifically told the leasing Agent Glenn, that I would NOT want to move in until after the holidays and my brothers wedding which is the end of December. He went on to tell me that he doesn't have anything available right now, that a lady has been coming into the office possibly moving out for end of January. So I told him that time frame would work for me. NOW, they are telling me since I have decided not to move into their unsafe community, more importantly this week, that I cannot receive my holding fee back. They have poor communication, and clearly hide the truth and information from people to try and get a new resident to sign a lease. Super unprofessional and would not recommend anyone to move here.
Village Green Townhomes May look nice on the outside, but does that completely matter no it does not.. it’s all about the inside. We asked many questions during the tour of the home and the most important question for me was the thinness of the walls. We were informed by Brittany who was giving us the tour that the walls were not thin and they have never had a complaint. After being here for almost a year, I am here to tell you that is a lie. Everyday we can hear my neighbors dog barking, their phone alarm going off, them snoring, their conversation while trying to go to bed at night. My neighbor to the right of me we could hear his cat purring, when he urinated or even if he coughed while in the restroom. If someone is running up the stairs it sounds as if it’s in your home. If this wasn’t bad enough when my neighbor is in his bathroom coughing or talking for me from my bedroom it sounds as if he is in my hallway. Within my year of being at Village Green my basement has leaked on every rainy day and when the snow melts as well. A complaint has been made multiple times but the problem has not been found. There was mold forming in the bathroom around the tub and on the ceiling (Which they have you sign a contract for at the time of lease signing, but who thinks that they will really have a problem with mold). We were told that opening up a window or using a fan would decrease the production of mold. Maintenance came out and painted over the mold. The windows are old and the doors are not seal properly which cause my consumer energy bill to sky rocket in order for us to remain warm. During all of this we decided because of the many issues we would rather move but to get out of the lease was so expensive we were forced to stick it out.I personally would not recommend Village Green to any of my friends or family. The only pleasures of being apart of this community is the fitness room, pool area and the sense of togetherness the leasing office brings with the events they put together. Unfortunately I have never attended an event because they are posted in the leasing office which I normally don’t have time to frequent, so I am never aware of them until there over.

I moved into here about 7 months ago a and I keep feeling like this place get more unsafe by the day. This past week someone took my grill off of my porch in the middle of the night. I had it chained to the fence and they cut it. I mean it was not expensive but it is just the principle of people stealing things. Also in the middle of the night I have seen people going through the parking lots and trying peoples car doors to see if any are unlocked. The people working in the place are great but the area of the complex is just not one I would ever recommend living in especially for the price.

I have been living here for about a year and a half and can not wait for my lease to be over. Over the last couple of months I have see. Cars slow rolling through the complex and stopping and watching me as I walk into my apartment. There are a lot of shady people that hangout in the area and local establishments around the complex. I have to drive 2 miles into royal oak just to get gas to feel like I am in a safe area. Also the windows are so old. I live 3 buildings off of 696 and I can hear the expressway all night and the wind coming in around the seals. I would not recommend to anyone to ever live in this area.

I moved out of Village Green Townhomes around a month and a half ago. The place was not that nice but it was livable. The really bad thing is the manager, Marki, will not respond to emails, voicemails, or phone calls. I have been trying to reach her for the last month because she made a mistake when returning my deposit. She accredited one of my payments to a random resident by mistake. After I proved that I had paid rent with the receipt of my check, the manager acknowledged her mistake. However, it has been over a month and she has done nothing about it. I have not even heard from her since then. I have been calling her office every day and leaving messages over the last three weeks but there is still no response. It is not worth the trouble to live here. They don't treat you well after you pay them.

I moved to Village Green Townhomes fresh out of college looking for the "Royal Oak experience" and it was fine for that - in a sort of dingy apartment kind of way. As far as apartments go, it is more expensive and generally not as nice as many other options in the area. My biggest complaint is that there is a window in the shower and aside from obvious privacy concerns - the biggest issue is how disgusting my shower got. I am 90% sure they just paint over whatever mold and grossness exists in the shower before you move in and as I lived there it got dirtier and dirtier looking - mostly just chipped paint exposing old mold, my windowsill rotted off TWICE and had to be reattached... the window frame was gnarly looking with chipped paint and mold. When I moved there it was $980/mo (2016) and I thought that was reasonable especially for the area but at $1,075 I would go elsewhere! One advantage - if you have a roommate this is incredibly cheap. Having in unit laundry is nice too. But if you shop around there are definitely better places. Office staff is usually pretty rude, although I have discovered there is one nice woman there. Otherwise I put in maintenance requests that never got repaired and in general avoided talking to the staff as much as possible. When maintenance did come (which I think is an office issue not the maintenance teams) they were incredibly helpful, nice, and fast! I loved them - especially when I had a major leak in my kitchen and they were there at 10 pm on a Sunday! If you have no other options, it is fine- centrally located between Royal Oak and Ferndale and close to the freeway, but not the best experience you could ask for, for sure!

Do not rent with Village Green. They charge too much rent for what they offer. Instead of keeping up the apartments they spend their money on superficial landscaping. The bathroom had paint continuously peeling off the tub, when we moved in there all the cabinets stuck shut and were really difficult to open and close, the basement was infested with insects, the carpet was in horrible condition when we moved in and only deteriorated (we hired a steam cleaner but that didn't do much good--it was such cheap dirty carpet that steam cleaning didn't help much), the screen doors were constantly breaking, and the steps both too and from the apartment were crumbling and falling apart. They do not respond to tenants requests in a timely manner and they obfuscate the fine print of anything they ask you do sign. I had a horrible experience here and feeling incredibly cheated. It's a place for twenty somethings who spend most of their time partying and don't pay attention to the quality of their homes.

I love that you are a long walk or short cab ride away from both Ferndale and Royal Oak. It is great to be so centrally located. Also if I am going downtown and there is no traffic I can usually Uber for $15. Perfect for someone who wants the freedom to not drive on the weekends. The place is great for the price and you get a private basement with full washer and dryer. I can never go back to not having these in my place! The storage is awesome. Maybe too awesome because I end up storing so much stuff in my basement that I need to clean it out soon. I have rented a half dozen places in the past and this is my second time renting from Village Green because I love the convenience of a larger company that is there to repair and take care of whatever you need on site. When I rent from private owners or smaller companies I always feel like it is a hassle to get any maintenance done. Here you just send an email and some one comes and completes your request within a couple of days. It is great. They are uniformed and leave a note of what they did with a survey. The staff is friendly and there to help whenever. There is even a 24hr emergency maintenance phone number you can call incase something major happens on off hours. The places are older and need some work but the complex is doing the work so I feel comfortable with the townhouse. Plus at this price I am not expecting too much. There is always going to be things that happen and in my experience it is good to have a larger company on your side that cares that you are happy because it is there business and reputation. For example I was here during the flood of 2014 where the entire neighborhood was under water. Within a week they had a company here cleaning out the basements and replacing all the appliances. I know that my friends who live around here who own sometimes couldn't get anyone out to their house for multiple weeks. Also when I moved in a couple years ago the tenant before me smoked and they tried to paint and replace the carpet so everything smelled better but I am super sensitive to smoke and had to scrub everything down. They were willing to give me a discount on my rent that first month and replace the blinds and fixtures to help me be more comfortable with my new place. They really tried to help all they could.

I would advise anyone considering this place to RUN FAR AWAY. My fiance and I have had serious problems since day one. Our surprise wall in the middle of the basement that wasn't supposed to exist(not present in the model unit), the entry stairs were crumbling and it took months to fix(and many requests), multiple poor fixes that were only resolved after contacting a district manager, and significant gas leak due to improper installation by their service team. Also worth mentioning, is that they always cut the cable lines- so forget the financially friendly self-install with your cable and internet. Have no fear though, the cable company sales reps will be glad to get someone out quick to complete installation with a service fee on your first bill. They did not pay the utility bill that they cashed my check for on more than one occasion but were quick to advise me on how I could do things better for them next time I write my monthly check (even though it was filled out as per directions given at move in). Our neighbors, who were wonderful, moved out after living here for 10 years as a result of this place's decline and newly developing horror stories of mistreatment. Also, when we began this leasing process the units were listed as 1200sq ft, they are now listed under 1000 sq ft- they must have been counting the partially finished basements in the sq foot count. The only redeeming quality of this place is the wonderful sales team. Unfortunately, banging my head against a brick wall would have been more enjoyable than talking to the onsite manager and dealing with the "repairs" by the service team.

Anticipating the end of my lease on September 30, 2015 , I began the search for a new home. On August 31, 2015 I paid my rent to Village Green Townhomes of $1035.00 for September with a cashiers check. In the memo section I clearly printed this is payment for September rent. A few days later the property manager called me on my cell phone stating I needed to pay my rent. I ignored the first few calls, knowing I had paid the rent ahead of time. Unfortunately on September 10, 2015 I got a Notice of Eviction. At that time I contacted the office, and was advised there was no record of my payment for September. I work really long hours and I have a stressful job as a physician. I explained to the property manager I had misplaced the stub from the cashiers check in preparation of moving, however I would go to the bank to get the proof of the payment on the following weekend. Afterwards the bank revealed the cashiers check had been negotiated on August 31, 2015, the same day I put it into the rent drop box. I brought this proof to the rental office for review by management on September 13, 2015 Seven business days later, I was notified during my office hours my property management, I advised her that I was busy seeing patients, leave a message on voice mail. She did not leave a message, another business week goes by and the property manager then states a clerical error was made admitting the eviction notice was sent to me in error. Management felt as though the issue was resolved, I disagreed. I requested a letter on letterhead stating of the administrative error, and was told that I would get it prior to vacating the unit. I did not get the letter requested, and to date have not received any documentation. This wrongful eviction notice is still in the housing/rental information bank, as well when pursuing housing applications always want to know your current/previous address and contact information. I have blemished credit with student loans from medical school, and tax issues from a complicated divorce. However at age 58 years old, I have had in the past 4 homes with mortgages, and countless apartments over the past 40 years, and I have never been denied housing until now. I have been denied housing by three local apartment buildings, and I believe it is directly related to my status on paper created by a mistake a worker made at Village Green Townhomes. Subsequently, I have moved in with my 93 year old mother. Please help. NOT HAPPY.
Compared to the area, you are able to quickly get to the major night life places. The three different levels provide enough space for comfortable living with a basement to save on storage. I have frequented the pool on a couple of the warmer summer days on weekends and it has been very quiet with plenty of seating to hang out by the pool. If you are looking to maximize space without maximizing your budget...look no further.
The place is pretty nice and the matenince is pretty fast with fixing any problems how ever the management does not care about tenants who has been loyal for years every year the rent goes up and no valid reason or barely any upgrades that sucks..!!
Initial price was worth it, but no upgrades were provided besides a new kitchen floor as an incentive to renew - that was offered in my 2nd renewal. Now the price doesn't match - the property is rated as fair in my opinion as the rooms are small and storage is insufficient.
The townhouses are decent, especially for new renters. Rent does not include water, gas or electricity which is very trying especially for $975 /month. There was a management change about a year or two ago and since then, maintenance has improved tremendously and tenants have received new roofs and a redone parking lot. Overall, Village Green Townhomes are a nice place to live and are probably the nicest townhomes in the city of Oak Park. The neighborhood is quiet and in Oak Park, you're not too far from many shopping complexes and activities in surrounding cities.
The townhomes are nice and Oak Park is a quiet place to stay. The price is a little steep since utilities aren't really included, but the townhomes still have a lot to offer. Maintenance has improved over the past couple of years and the office staff are very pleasant and helpful. Overall, Village Green Townhomes are a great place to stay and there is plenty to do and see in the surrounding cities.
