There’s an unmistakable charm to Springfield, a city that exudes the allure of a small town while housing nearly 115,000 residents. Blending modern conveniences with a historic atmosphere, the capital city of Illinois — and birthplace of President Abraham Lincoln — is a compelling Midwest metropolis for renters of all types.
Aside from its presidential history, Springfield is full of culinary delights and entertainment destinations. Cozy Dog Drive-In alleges to have made the first corn dog in 1946, and it’s always a popular spot. Enjoy the shops at White Oaks Mall, fun at Knight’s Action Park, and plenty of breweries just north of the city center. There’s a number of parks and excellent educational opportunities, including the University of Illinois Springfield. The city comes together to enjoy annual events like the Illinois State Fair and more.

Property Ratings at Huntington Ridge Apartments
They will never answer an email, they will never answer a phone call, they will never get back to you when you leave a message. I applied in person for an apartment here over a month ago and somehow after $230 in deposits/fees and multiple submissions of background paperwork my application was pending, with zero communication from management of course. Not to mention that there is no true "property manager" and the property managers that are there rotate out on a weekly basis from as far as Minnesota. Now, a month later and $230 down the drain, I pulled my application. Do yourself a favor and DO. NOT. MOVE. HERE.

this place is a 0 stars. when i first moved in, cigarette smell and a leak. then a month before i left my ceiling was leaking and they cut two holes in my ceiling, they weren’t fixed by the time that i left (4 weeks later) i gave a 60 day notice through a phone call because the office is never open because they haven’t had a property manager since april. they say the hours are 9-5 and then when you go in there’s nobody there. so anyways i gave my 60 day notice over the phone because i couldn’t give it in person, then i call because i was being charged for a months rent that i wasn’t living there anymore and instead they charged me an improper notice fee because it had to be in writing and i didn’t do that $1500 fee. because i didn’t say i was moving out in writing. when i couldn’t because not only was nobody there but i was also at work when i gave the notice and i work every single day. i work two jobs. it’s unbelievably difficult for me to go anywhere because i work all day. anyways not fixing a ceiling with insulation falling and two holes with taped up plastic (i have pictures) is extremely unlivable and i could probably report it to the health department considering i did get sick from it. i tried to email them and of course got no response. so now im making it public. my electricity bill was also skyrocketed because they had to put a dehumidifier and 4 fans in my apartment for 6 days running all day long. also they over worked the last maintenance guy so much that he left!!! not a good place to live would not recommend. i know they will reply to this telling me to reach out to them via email or call but I ALREADY DID!!!!!! READ MY EMAIL!!!!!

Just renewed my lease. I love my balcony and apartment. Clean, quiet and the neighbors are friendly. Mixed area so very diverse also. Yes washing machines still don’t work but other than that it’s worth living here. And they have new better management now.
I am a current resident of this property and I have had nothing but trouble from day 1 with this place, from them not knowing what keys to give me on move in day to the current leaking sink in my bathroom that I have been fighting to get fixed for months now. Supposedly this property does not have full-time staff, I have been told (by the staff) numerous times that they are all temporary, so getting anything done seems literally impossible. The laundry and dryer amenities have not worked in my building since day 1. The management here is abysmal and never follow-up with anything. I have been told that they are just waiting for the "company that runs the machines to come out and fix them" and have seen this company truck here, yet the machines stay broken. I won't even get into the cost of using these machines... I have followed all of the processes they ask to get a leaking sink fixed such as formally file repair requests online, calling their offices, physically walking in and talking to whoever is there that day, sending voicemails to the corporate number because nobody ever answers nor calls you back. They will continue to take your money and give you late fees if you don't pay yet there is absolutely zero recourse for getting anything fixed on this property. I'm at the point of talking to the city of Springfield to get out of my lease. I'm talking to legal counsel to figure out if I can get some money back from this awful company for these ridiculous living conditions. Considering how much you have to pay for these units, it is very much not worth staying here. You will not get what you are promised, do not make the same mistake as me!
