First developed in 1891 as a streetcar suburb, Hyde Park has become one of the most densely-populated areas in the city. With many historic buildings in its two historic districts, the neighborhood enjoys a charming beauty, with sites like the Queen Anne style Col. Monroe M. Shipe House and the Elisabet Ney Museum.
Hyde Park sits directly north of the University of Texas at Austin, with I-35 running along the eastern border. On the west side, residents have easy access to a variety of shops, including Central Market, and the Heart Hospital of Austin. The university is home to four museums, including the Blanton Museum of Art. Sports fans can cheer on the Longhorns at nearby the Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium.

Property Ratings at Hyde Park I & II
I lived here for 16 months in a one bedroom studio. It has been a great experience, friendly neighbors. Landlord has always been helpful when needing anything fixed in the apartment. The property is also good for walkability.
This is a great property! It has a great location, and a bus service that goes directly to the university. Only minor issue is system is a bit low tech (rent payment is made through checks). I never found this inconvenient though since the dropbox was right outside my door. Overall a great property and would recommend!
My partner and I have lived here for a few months now and we highly recommend it to anyone! Great location and good quality for the price. The property manager is fabulous- she is very kind and responsive to emails. The maintenance team at the property has the fastest response time I have ever experienced. An awesome neighborhood, lots of parking and a park right across the street.
The manager/landlord of this property is friendly and has excellent communication. The complex itself is quite old and has a few quirks about it, but nothing I couldn’t handle. The location here is excellent too.
