Property Ratings at Idyllwillow
I second so many of the reviews regarding cheap materials uses, consistent roach infestations in whole buildings despite constant cleaning and exterminators. The ventilation in bathrooms is not strong enough therefore causing mold and bacteria to grow. The parking situation is atrocious. They do not have enough spaces for the amount of families living there. I would never recommend living here. I was on a lease for 6 months and moved out the earliest I could.
On the outside the apartment looks like a promising oasis, but nothing could be further from the truth. Roach infestation, impossible parking, and local thieves are amongst the common issues with this location. They claim to be luxury and attempt to do so by beautifying the leasing office, but the materials they use on the inside of the apartments are actually very cheap. After being moved out of the apartment for a few months, I received a call from collections notifying me of a bill in an excess of $1,000, for which I never received a bill, email, or phone call since the move out date. They claimed to have send it by mail and e-mail, but told me they had no record of them sending anything and I also never received any email form them after move out. They also had no pictures of what they were charging me for. Very shady business practices, don't ever rent from here or recommend these apartments to anyone.
I've lived here at ReNew at the Shops for about two months now. From the start, everything looked great but soon enough I regret the decision to move here. The management team handed me non working keys to a unit that had been damaged from the previous owners. In other words, it was not move in ready. I submit my move in check list and I was shocked to be informed that the office staff had already noted the apartment issues but never scheduled a maintenance staff member to work on the apartment prior to my move in date . I gave the the benefit of doubt, and submitted a work order. The maintenance staff members are slow, unresponsive, and always claim to be understaffed. The typical turn over rate for your repairs claim to be 2 days, when you can expect it to take up to two weeks or more. They have very limited parking and multiple future resident parking spots that are always vacant and I can see why. The remodeling of the apartment are great, but when looking at the quality of work, it is rather poor. The sales representatives and Laura are amazing people. The office manager does not focus on customer service, he does not appropriately handle residents concerns and things tend to escalate to argument. Please do your research before looking to move here
By far the worst living situation I've ever been in. I'm glad I saw so many bad reviews and 1 stars on this place. Makes me feel like I am not going crazy. I was too nice and willing to give the benefit of the doubt and not blast the community on social media but I've had it. I was verbally told I would not have to worry about petty damages done to the interior because my apartment was going to be remodeled anyway. I believed it but turned out to be a straight up lie. The remodel cost me $900 in damages done to my personal items because they were moved and left in the rain by the workers while I was at work without notice. I was reimbursed $200. The remodel looks nice. Someone else summed it up pretty well, "a nice apple rotten inside". My ex works selling appliances. He called the appliances the used, "cheap junk". No wonder everything breaks down so easily. And that Kevo you're forced to get for $10 a month? Useless. I gave up on trying to have it fixed. Those are seriously the least of my worries. The piles of trash people juat dump wherever they want, the graffiti, the unsupervised little kids cursing and bullying other kids, piles of dog poop, rat infested dumpsters, bugs and gnats that won't go away, the cops, the crime scene evidence vans, the gang related stabbing. You would think you're living in Garden Grove not Mission Viejo. I know you guys are just going to respond with, we're disappointed that you feel that way. Please let us know how we can help you" (copy and pasted, im sure). The reality is I want nothing to do with that community and I'm relieved it's all over. The cost to live there has skyrocketed but the quality has not.
Let's face it, if you're moving to these apartments it is not because they are the nicest in the area, but rather because they are inexpensive compared to other places. It is very conveniently close to the local community college, whichakes this a great location for students. Unfortunately though, this means that students are always roaming the community. On top of being close to the college, there is a very nice shopping mall across the street. The only real issues that I have had within the apartments are the horrendous parking and the fact that there is a continuous pest problem. The management is great though! They are always willing to try to fix any problems that I have had in a very timely matter. Overall, this has been a great place to live for the price of the apartment.

Thank you for your review. Constructive feedback helps us assess our strengths and weaknesses and allows us to provide our residents with an exceptional place to call home.
There are bugs. Lots of bugs. Spiders, ants and all sorts. It's frustrating but the front desk staff is lovely and I truly enjoy living so close to the college.
