Along Ingersoll Avenue, residents have access to a variety of shops, grocery stores, and restaurants. North of Grand is also in a great location, so residents have easy access to even more amenities. Great for students or renters who work at the institutions, Drake University is only a mile away. Residents also enjoy proximity to some of the city’s most popular green spaces including Des Moines Water Works Park, Gray's Lake, and Western Gateway Park.

Property Ratings at Imperial Grand Prix
Do not live here if you have an anxiety or an animal with anxiety. The walls are paper thin and the neighbors are extremely rude when you ask them to turn down their music or adhere to quite hours!!!
I have lived here at Grand Prix apartments for over a year now. It has been a great place to live! I love how close it is to anything you would need: groceries, dining, parks, and more. You can get anywhere in Des Moines in 10-20 minutes, which is really nice. They offer great amenities like a gym, laundry, and wifi. The management staff and maintenance are always top notch to help with anything you may need in a timely manner. Also a very safe neighborhood. No elevator or garage. Sometimes can be noisy because of traffic, but nothing too bad!
Karina at your front desk who is always so helpful and very smart and she can help you do just about anything. Oh and let me tell you about Brian he's our maintenance man he is so awesome and he's very funny both Karina and Brian are funny and we have a good time around here just living a wonderful peaceful loving caring community
I’ve been living here for a few years it’s clean it’s a nice area next to grocery store and gas station has elevator fitness center and garage. Never have any problems with other tenants and affordable compared to other places in the Des Moines area would definitely recommend living here
These apartments are close to downtown midtown and out west. Never a problem, maintenance and management are tip top and always on the job. Wi-Fi and powerful washing and drying machines are great. Bus lines, shopping ,bike paths, parks and art museum close by. Easy going. Laundry room and mailboxes secured behind combination lock. Safety first. Friendly tenants. I recommend it here as a place to live.
1. Very thin walls. You can hear conversations from your upstairs neighbors and feel the beats of music from other apartments. 2. Wifi never works, even though we pay for it in our monthly rent. 3. Laundry is too expensive, and machines don't work well. 4. Always smells like weed. 5. Very old building, so if you have any allergies, good luck.
When I first graduated from college, I needed somewhere affordable to live close to my job in downtown Des Moines. The studio apartments in Imperial were exactly what I was looking for, and it's in a very convenient place! The people at Venture Management were very accommodating and made my first apartment-renting experience very smooth and positive. Lisa and Michelle were especially helpful! I definitely recommend these apartments for anyone looking for an affordable place to live close to downtown Des Moines.
