Property Ratings at Imperial House
Under new management apparently the new policy is to not replace anything unless you make a big stink about. When we call call our building superintendent, we are immediately met with "No, we don't replace it anymore." Then when we call management to complain, no one answers the phone. We would need to leave an angry voicemail in order to get a response. Then management feigns ignorance, when we finally get in contact with them. They deny knowing the fact that the superintendent is not replacing items. The building advertises that they have a sabbath elevator. But employees of the building would periodically turn off the sabbath elevator to use for themselves. My wife once had to wait over 40 minutes with two newborn twins on Simchat Torah. The twins was crying waiting in the stroller. She missed most of the holiday because this. When we had our first big snow storm, the building did not plow the parking lot. Resulting in cars being stuck in the parking lot for hours. Every once in a while the building needs to do an emergency shutoff of the water to do "repairs". When we suspect it is to do some water work on the new apartment units, which they are charging an arm and a leg for. Good luck with getting some peace and quiet. As people leave the building, the management renovates the unit so they could charge more for the unit. And the hammering and construction work they do echoes through the pipes so everyone can hear it. If you have rowdy neighbors at night, management does nothing. Previous management would kick them out for violating quiet hours. But this new management seem to not care about their tenants and just care about money. I would avoid this place because things have gone downhill since management have changed.
I've been living here for almost four years. This is convenient because there many schools nearby if you have kids, so that's good. The people in the building are so nice and polite. There's a stop & shop, corner stores and a pharmacy nearby, also they are of a walking distance. Within the years I've lived here, the landlord has been switched once. My only problem is that I don't like him very much or I get a vibe that he doesn't like us very much. Just don't forget your key and get locked out of your apartment, you won't have a problem. The area is very quite but the steet infront of the building, like in the picture, is very busy. The houses are nice and it's nice to sit on the bench in the summer when it's warm which i've done quite a few times. I hope this helped to anyone looking for an apartment.
