North of Grand is a suburban-like neighborhood about three miles west of Downtown Des Moines. Filled with tree-lined streets, manicured lawns, and plenty of sidewalks, North of Grand has a low cost of living and has a variety of affordable, as well as more expensive, housing options available for rent. Along Ingersoll Avenue, residents have access to a variety of shops, grocery stores, and restaurants. North of Grand is also in a great location, so residents have easy access to even more amenities. Great for students or renters who work at the institutions, Drake University is only a mile away. Residents also enjoy proximity to some of the city’s most popular green spaces including Des Moines Water Works Park, Gray's Lake, and Western Gateway Park.

Property Ratings at Ingersoll Park Studios
drug dealers and addicts live here.Plus you have non tenants damaging and squating in the hallways. I'm moving as soon as I am financially able to
Toured these apartments and left after about 2 minutes. Photos are extremely misleading and the hallways reeked of smoke. Best part was that while I was on my self guided tour, people were buying drugs in the hallway. Didn’t even bother taking a close look at the actual apartment but nothing like the photos. Don’t waste your time!
Hallway reeks of smoke 24/7. Electrical outlets falling off the walls. Cockroaches. Laundry facilities are unusable. Consistent water problems. Glass in the parking lot. Graffiti INSIDE my apartment that maintenance couldn't bother to cover. Bugs in the entry way, usually dead. Weak flushing toilets. Nasty bathtub. Mold heaven in the walls. Cramped kitchen. Leaky refrigerator. They didn't even vacuum before I moved in.
I viewed a studio apartment here and I was expecting much better based on the pictures. Management hadn't taken the time to clean the apartment before showing it to me so it was in poor state. The carpet was littered with trash and stains. The bathroom was covered in grime, hair, and who knows what else in every crack. The kitchen area wasn't much better. The pictures are deceiving.
My boyfriend lives here; the few times I've spent the night here I wake up with swollen, red itchy bites that look like bed bug bites. Someone disposed of a mattress earlier that said it was infested with bed bugs. It is virtually impossible to get in contact with anyone about this issue, as the property manager is never available no do they return calls or emails.
My apartment building is a good example of old architecture. It is close to many restaurants in the area. And there is a grocery store right across the street. And the public bus line is right in front of the building. And the maintenance staff is always available and friendly. Its a blast from the past.
