Absolutely terrible experience. I will be leaving the building as soon as possible. The mail system is absolutely terrible, the floors have gaps, the elevators are terrible, and the worst of all the General Manager seems to be not only incompetent but careless about tenants problems. The worst building I have ever lived in and I truly regret signing a lease especially for 18 months.

Insignia on M is a luxurious apartment complex that feels homey. There are certain amenities that really bowl you over such as the rooftop, gym, and downstairs clubhouse. The concierge staff and building managers are very courteous, prompt and eager to help. The cleaning staff works non-stop. The pool area is relaxing, accessible and comfortable for a small group or solo adventure. My only drawbacks are that the the rooftop could use to be cleaned up a little more often & the foliage appears to be dying which is a slight eye-sore.

Insignia has a great staff and really does well at keeping up with the building. The location is great and within a few minutes from Nats Stadium by foot. The amenities are great. Only downside is Navy Yard has started to get a little worse crime-wise recently.

Renting from Insignia on M is typically nice and easy. There are a lot of dogs at this location. It is a busy foot traffic area, but right in the middle of everything for an easy commute anywhere.

Insignia on M has been a mess from move-in to move-out. The leasing office is impossible to communicate with. Maintenance is wonderful, but seems to be one person: I have no idea how he manages it all. The front desk staff are amazing, but have way too much asked of them. No one stays for more than 3 months. The apartments look pretty but are falling apart. And the new management team has been impossible to get in touch with. It's an embarrassment.

Great location close to the Capitol, Nationals Park, and a metro stop. The staff are great and keep the building well maintained. One negative that they can’t help is crime has continued to increase in Navy Yard.

Love living here! Great staff, beautiful apartment features and fast service. The front desk workers are friendly and always helpful. The office is always willing to help with any issues and maintenance is always prompt and fixes the problem. Plus, you can’t beat the location. The entire team worked so diligently to get me moved in such a short amount of time. Thank you very much I am happy to be here! The community is nice. It’s pretty quiet here so far, I heard my neighbors dog barking this morning but it was very faint so the walls aren’t too thin. The only thing is I work pretty late and sometimes I need to wash clothes when I get home at night and the washer is so loud I’m afraid my neighbors may be bothered sometimes. Very clean building with wonderful 24 hour concierge. Our cleaning team was up this morning vacuuming the halls and keeping the building clean. They also cleared the trash cans out of the way on the loading dock (even though it was trash day) when I was moving in because it wasn’t much room for me to unload my car. They noticed and immediately offered to make more room for me. Nice area to bike in with many options to eat. We are close to Nats Park so you can easily walk to and from games. 24 hour gym and a beautiful rooftop view.

I have loved living here! The location is perfect and the building is amazing. All of the staff have been great and any issues have been promptly resolved. The amenities are great and the studio apartment has been such a good fit for me and my cat.

I just re-signed my lease because I have really had a great experience here. All of the staff are wonderful and any minor issues I’ve had have been dealt with quickly and efficiently. This has been a great building to live in!

I've had a great 2.5 years living at IOM! I think this is one of the best managed properties in Navy Yard. The staff are really good at communicating updates via email, and the concierges make it friendly and secure. I have always felt safe and comfy in this property.

Great spot in a vibrant & emerging neighborhood. The building has pros & cons like anywhere. The front desk staff are incredible...remember your name, always helpful. The main office staff have been quite varying. Sometimes fine, other times utterly bizarre...Once, I was threatened with violation of my lease & eviction because i put a bird feeder on my balcony during the pandemic (i was super isolated!) and they said i was in violation because unwatched animals were in my rented space. Things break a lot...there's almost always an elevator down. A few times nearly all elevators have been down. But, if you put in an apartment maintenance request, they are super fast & responsive!

We moved into Insignia last month and cannot say enough good things about this place! The building is beautiful, staff is friendly (even the cleaning crew—which cleans every single day), and the neighbors are so friendly. The building is very quiet and there is hardly any noise from the neighbors. There are lots of pups in the building as well, which makes our furchildren feel right at home. 10/10 would recommend!

The building is well maintained for the most part, most staff is friendly and attentive, and building shows they care for residents in the way of resident events, but it’s quite frustrating that we pay an extra $500 a year for amenities and they often break which is understandable, but they are then not fixed for long periods of time (dog spa bath broken for several months, pool fountain/jets broken all summer, elevators broken for weeks, ignitions on grills broken as long as I can remember, some staff untrained on how to turn on fire pits etc., garage doors often broken…list goes on)

We love living here —insignia on M has the best team! We’ve been here for over half a year now and have no complaints. Whenever there is a maintenance issue, insignia is very quick to let us know they are working to find a solution. Overall it is a great place to live!

I really enjoy living here. Having a washer/dryer in unit, especially, is a new and wonderful thing. Plus, you are so close to the Metro and not a long walk from Capitol South metro. The downside is how expensive it is! Yes, the amenities are nice, but it didn’t justify the cost for me - especially since my particular apartment got barely any sunlight and was right next door to the trash room so the trash compactor woke me up at 6:30 AM most mornings. It’s a hip neighborhood with lots of places to drink and hangout, though the traffic from the Nationals games can get annoying. I haven’t had any pest problems here, which is a first for me in DC. They seem to be pretty dog friendly and a lot of people have dogs.

The building overall is nice and clean. I like living here but have had some bad experiences. My apartment flooded, I had no floor for 3 weeks and had holes in my walls. I had to email every day and ask for an update to which I received nasty emails. I also had to point out problems that were neglected to be fixed until I said something. I have had multiple bad experiences with management that wouldn’t have been an issue if there had been communication. I have paid multiple amenity fees yet the fire pit on the roof has been broken for more than 2 years. The dog park is nice to have but it smells like pee and throwing water on it every morning doesn’t solve the issue.
