South Bend's Southside neighborhood has undergone a metamorphosis of sorts in the modern era. The neighborhood developed around a Studebaker automobile plant in the mid-20th century, and the neighborhood still retains some of its industrial roots. Today, the corporations in South Bend include Honeywell and AM General. The area that used to contain the Studebaker plant now houses Ignition Park, a technology and business park that’s home to a large number of employers. Property Ratings at Irish Hills Apartments
This is not a good place to be due so many reasons. For example poor management, poor maintenance, poor communications, etc. We had a really bad experience in the first day of the lease and have had that mentioned right after we moved. We would go to a different place right away unless moving pain with specially a little one, however as we are for couple years anyway we stayed in this apartment. As the time go by there were so many leaks happened and the maintenances are very poorly done, bathtub and one bathroom commode was replaced, but the commode was shaking after the maintenances. Even so many times informed no one take care of that moving toilet. So anyway due the leaks the carpet become little dirty ( the carpet was not that good condition when we initially rented either). We did a deep cleaning before moving out and have scheduled an inspection as stated in the leasing documents, but no one came to see the apartment before we moved. Now they claiming that they have replaced the carpet and the direct deposit is not going to be returned and we had to pay $300 something to extra. I was never late for the rent and the early termination fee which is twice the monthly payment + they payment for the whole leasing time. We know that our apartment was open before we move as we notice way before the 60 days and the apartment was rented again as well. suddenly when I ask for the security deposit just after 1-2 days we have this bill that saying they replace the carpet abd bla bla bla, we have to pay $344.40 which is extra to the $300 deposit they have taken from us. I would give this money to charity not to the IRISH HILLS. I don't trust them and not paying this payment, which is not my fault to be replace ( if they replace it). I had a rental insurance when I was in the apartment and not sure it covered this not trusted bills for me. Anyway for those who looking for an apartment, the only one thing I should say, if you have soo much money to give away for, then you can lease here.

Irish Hills is a nice place to live. The apartments are a little outdated but other than that it is good living conditions. The only negative is the office people are rude and you have to continuously bug them to get anything done.

This review is based on my experience trying to rent an apartment here. Maybe it gets better when you live here, if you're blessed enough to get that far. Generally, the experiance was just downright poor. Management is late to meetings (30+ minutes), schedule tours for certain models then only have OTHER models available at your scheduled date, neglects communication, and puts up apartments that AREN'T actually ready to be moved into at the date advertised. Of course, they won't tell you anything, you have to call multiple times over the course of months looking for any sort of update on whether or not you'll have a place to live. Not worth the stress, save your application fees and try anywhere else.

When ever we had an issue the office staff and maintenance were always very helpful and fast. We never waited more then a day for any maintenance issue to be resolved even the unimportant little ones.

The place is decent for low cost rent type of housing. Grounds are well kept and units are acceptable. it is quiet. They could use some pal;ygrounds for kids and maybe a few other minor ammenities. I give it a 2 star simply because I have had a nightmare scenario with moving out. it has now close to 45 days since I moved out. i still do not have my deposit back and they still show that I live there, even though they did my final inspection. Why they have so many people in the office is beyond me as nobody there can do anything. They pass you along to the next person and no one does their job. So I am sitting, waiting, and talking to attorneys to see what I need to do to get them to fix it. Good luck if you move in...or should I say, good luck when you try to move out!

Horribly rude staff. Called twice and was hung up on without being able to get a word in over a service call. You should treat your tenants with the utmost respect. We are paying a good sum of money to live there and it's really unfortunate when we have to deal with nasty people when there's a problem with our living situations. I hope management will have a staff meeting about attitude problems because I know they've gotten other complaints about it in the past. Other than the rude staff and very slow moving service workers, the place is alright.
We had a lease with them starting in march 1st(1year). We loved our apartment but when the second month came around we noticed that there was a marijuana smell coming from the third floor on the opposite side from us. The smell was so bad that we called the office to give them a formal complaint and they told us we have to call the police first. So we hung up and called them, they came out and they did a report in the office and after that we have had to call them about 5 times. Then my husband who works over 70hrs a week(all he wants is a nice smelling apartment to come home to), went into the office and they said they know who it is and they still did nothing to help the situation. My husband got angry and called them and they said they can put us in another apartment but we would have to wait a couple weeks before moving in. So the Friday before we were suppose to me(on the next Monday)we get confirmation from the office that we are about to move in. So Monday morning comes, uhaul all packed, we go to the office to get our new set of keys and they tell us that we now can't move in.... wait what! My husband just took the day off to come help me move since we have a one year old son. After about four hours of waiting I had to return the uhaul because we only rented it until 3pm that day. So I had to drive to my mother house unload everything and then go return the uhaul. At this point I am fuming. I went back to the office and told them that this was wrong of them to screw with us like this and how would I go about moving out of the complex completely instead of getting another apartment from them because their service was crazy. They said8 had to do a 30 day notice and then pay the fees. Now we are dealing with a small claims lawsuit with them because we paid everything? Are you freaking kidding me?! Don't rent from this crooked apartment complex! They are all trash!
Staff is rude and didn't once explained the different price points of the styles. Never talked to us about what they had to offer or what is included living there. A guy named Michael didn't even want to take our information he acted like he was so disgusted by us. Was too busy watching TV to answer our questions once we were in the model. Hated this place such a waste of time
i love this place. they are so nice and they clean the pool every day. they are so nice here.
Nice place for anyone u will love it... Trust me no place like it it should cost LA prices it's that nice...
