Property Ratings at Iron Flats Apartments
Lived here for over a year, and it's a huge disappointment. Maybe the biggest sin is that the parking garage gate has been broken for over a month - it's bent and warped, missing panels, and has caution tape and wooden boards on it. It looks like a crime scene or a trash heap. Coupled with the fact that the hallways and parking garage have rank smell, trash, and furniture everywhere, it feels like a broken down, abandoned building. Can't wait to leave when my lease ends.
Management is helpful and responsive. Khai is great! I’d describe my individual experience as decent and unproblematic, while still acknowledging that there are others who have not been as fortunate. A flooding incident caused a lot of damage and garage doors / elevators have broken down. Despite these challenges, management has done their best to communicate and get things fixed.
If you’re looking for a convenient, modern space to call home, Iron Flats Apartments is a great choice. Ignore reviews posted before mid-2023, when a new, responsive management team took over. Virtually every matter posted in negative reviews has been corrected. A new package receiving protocol and building entry system are in place, and management is working hard fixing water damage to East Building caused by a Winter 2024 frozen pipe. I moved into the building just after it opened and would still be there if I hadn’t moved out of state. You’ll find a friendly welcome by the office and maintenance staffs
This place is comfy and situated walking distance from great food, the light rail, Green Lake, and much more! New management is very welcoming and easy to talk to. If you ever need anything, they are there to help! Go Larry!
Having lived at Iron Flats since its opening, here are the list of realities of living at this location that you do not see on tour. There are some reoccuring themes: 1) Package Theft On 4/17/22, there was a break-in resulting in package theft ; On here was a break-in incident on 9/28/21 resulting in package theft; after October '21 I stopped keeping track as it was becoming a regular occurance (and just getting my packages upon arrival. The package room is too small for the number of residents, so they keep packages outside the room (making them easy to steal). Additionally, many residents are incapable of picking up their packages promptly, so finding your own package is often a hassle. 2) Parking Garage Multiple break-ins in the parking garage, including someone stealing our garage remote. We were still charged for its replacement. The garage has no mirrors, making the turns dangerous 3) Too Small of a Garbarge/Recycling Room Every single week, without fail, all garbage bins overflow and recycling overflow because they do not have enough bins, given the number of residents. 4) Building Was Built Shoddily & Management does not fix promptly Multiple false fire alarms - they are sensitive and will send residients out for a false alarm at least once every eight weeks. Response from management is “Better too sensitive than not sensitive enough” and there has been no move to fix the problem. Inconsistent hot water - sometimes it is lukewarm Multiple broken elevators in the west building, hindering a Unlocked lobby doors for a month in the West Building Our door has needed fixing twice as the building settles In April 2022, there was a flood in the West Building that led to water being cut off from our apartment, which also led to concerns about the quality of the building. Residents from the flood had to move our of their apartments for weeks on end while it was fixed. Misc Issues West building units are very loud - you can hear the highway. There is also a fire station down the street so there are often sirens You cannot let guests up by buzzing them in at any entrance to your apartment. You are required to go down to get them because they need a key to get up the elevator. High turnover of units As of Oct. 2022, they are offering 1 months free rent because they are DESPERATE and people are leaving because of the poor experience they have had here. High staff turnover - there has been 100% staff turnover.
Perfect location, close to Green Lake and Whole Foods. Charles (asst manager) is awesome! Very responsive and willing to help. Great move in experience!
Iron Flats is brand new! The apartments are spacious, gorgeous, and will tons of natural light. Not only are the apartments nice, but so are the amenities including the gym. And, the leasing staff are AMAZING! I highly recommend moving here!
